  1. Fixed that for you. As someone with the name, I get really tired of seeing that misspelling.
  2. I'm thinking about just getting these two:(in addition to my Ape-X replacement) http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/50276/sku-down/50276 http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/50226/sku-down/50226 and using the rest of my credit to cover shipping.
  3. Wanted beer or whiskey, ended up with ice cream. I don't know how that happened but my wallet is happier.

Your liver, too, I imagine. (But screw that organ, it is evil and must be punished!)

Pssh. I haven't had a drink in over a year and I don't take any drugs, so my liver can suffer just this once.

  4. I don't know who scares me more in that video: Neil Gaiman or George R. R. Martin. Sure, Martin is destroying a guitar, but Gaiman seems like he's ready to just lay the smack-down. I have to say, I've never picked any of Song of Fire and Ice books, but I did read the first Wildcards book and thought it was a good read.
  5. Pssh, you demihumans and your lowlight vision. I'm happy with my extra feat at first level. Shame I blew it on Extra Turning...
  6. Mental note: Dice may be used to distract nerdly women.
  7. Hmm, I like women in trench coats, yes. I may have to add one or both of them now...
  8. I think I'm going to have to add the only stoner comedy fantasy movie made: Your Highness. I'm not a stoner, nor am I '420 friendly' but the movie had me in stitches. It reminded me of some of the crazy stuff I've had people do in games over the years.
  9. Not a, whatchamacallit, good movie, though, even on its own terms. True Lies (for instance) was much better at quirky, silly suspense. In my world, there are 'good' movies and there are 'fun' movies. These can be mutually exclusive.
  10. I'm going to pick up a replacement of Ape-X, which was miscast. I want to get just one of the female NOVAs, but they only come in the 3-pack, so I'm going to just write that one off. When you add in the NOVA guy from the Chronoscope set, I have enough for three 5-person squads which is all I need. Oh, I forgot about the Deep Ones. And, I kind of want more mummies... Damn you, Reaper! You make too many cool things!
  11. Yeah. You get 2x store credit for any missing/damaged minis. If you're missing parts, they'll send those instead. You might want to check out this thread for more info.
  12. Sounds good. Just thought I'd ask. If you do need to strip the paint, it comes off real easy from metal minis.
  13. (God, I hope this is good place for this topic..) Like many of us who backed the KS, I got a store credit for my messed up minis, plus some extra. I'm trying to debate what minis I should pick up. I'm not afraid to pick up a mini I'll never use in a game if it looks cool and/or looks fun to paint. I can't really afford big minis, and I don't care it they're Bones or normal metals. So, you princes (and princesses) of the Reaper Forums, hit me with your suggestions!
  14. Before you pick up those brushes, I want to ask what kind of paint you plan on using. Want to make sure you don't accidentally use some poor paint and then have to tell you have to strip the paint so you can start over.
  15. When it comes to putting together metal minis that have gaps, I'm a big fan of JB Weld and pinning the sucker together. If the thing looks like it'll fit together okay, I take a hobby knife and scratch grooves into both sides of the part then hit it with an epoxy or the JB; depends on how often the mini is going to be touched, moved and/or dropped. Pinning is a pain and I usually do to get minis on to resin bases. Anything besides glue/epoxy/cold weld is a terrible idea for minis. For priming, I use Gesso. However, I live an apartment and don't feel like doing some MacGuyver-equse things with tubes, boxes, tape and etc. Things like that tend to blow up in my face in a way that results in comedy (for those watching) and monetary loss (for me). As much as I like Gesso, I find it doesn't hold on to metal minis very well and starts to rub off and/or chip after time. If you can spray prime, I strongly suggest it. That's all I've got to say.
  16. I'm now re-reading In Retrospect by former Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara. My father, a vet, gave me a copy of the book several years ago and I find relevant things in it every time I read it.
  17. I'm listening to again, because it gets stuck in my head all the time. Be warned, lyrics are NSFW, but very funny.
  18. Well, now you know for next year, right?
  19. It's 1152 pages of people trying to figure things out, thank you. :p What I enjoyed about The Stand was how things slowly decayed in society as more and more people died. Then, you have people running across each other and forming bonds, even though they're people that never would have met, much less gotten along, had they not been the only people left. The characters drive that story, and I think they're some of King's best. Also, the final battle between good and evil was very well done. As for NGE, I think the confusing nature of the series was one of the big draws for me. I like it when a show/book/whatever doesn't just spell everything out and leaves things open to your personal interpretation. Of course, it ended the way it did because Anno was trolling his fan base... Fair enough. Must be a slow build. I think I got about half way thru. No monsters, no zombies, just some survivors. I think every nerd should read it, because we are all Harold Lauder. To some degree or another. If you can't stand (no pun intended) to read it, check out the TV miniseries they did. The casting was spot on in my opinion.
  20. I'm okay with a wait. Really. Money isn't coming as easy as it did last year, so I would rather have more time to set aside the trillions of dollars I know I'm going to spend this time around. Of course, if my 'legal issues' get resolved soon, I'll just set aside a bit of that money...

But... but... it's so soft and comfy...

  23. If you haven't tried The Stand, you really should. It's his best, in my opinion. I have a huge love for end-of-the-world media and The Stand is one of those stories that really captures... Well, just about everything. I re-read it every year or so. Also, totally surprised that no one has mentioned Neon Genesis Evangelion, the original. That was most of my teenage years, watching and thinking about that show. It's also a pretty good deconstruction of the Mecha genre of anime. And, to score some 'nerd points' I first watched Akira when I was seven. I think it explains a lot about how I ended up the way I am.
  24. I miss out on a lot of things because I'm out of the loop. I don't even have a smart phone. Thankfully, I've seen just about, or own, most of the movies and shows you all have mentioned. Music is one of my many weak points. Video games, too. Some of my 'must see' movies/TV: Johnny Mnemonic (Just look who's in the movie) The original A-Team Stargate: SG-1 Escape From New York Venture Brothers Hackers I also have a massive list of books, but if you haven't read The Stand, don't talk to me until you do.
