  1. I have 2 pounds of dice. How do I know this? I bought a Chessex Pound o' Dice a few years ago and it doubled the size of my dice bag. My friend who runs a game store has a jar with 50 cents a die. Even though I have more dice then I could ever have a reason to roll, I still grab a few from the jar or buy a 'cool looking' set from the case. I... I may have a problem...
  2. I don't know if this has been posted before, and quite frankly, I don't care: http://satwcomic.com/the-fox
  3. I'm going to check for that Monty Python Lego set right now. Oh my god.
  4. That's a shame. I like the metal minis because they hold more detail than some of the Bones and it's easier to put them on nice bases. I'm still buying metals, but the last time my FLGS tried to order one for me it was out of stock.
  5. Well, it'll be interesting to see how the whole thing turns out. Kickstarter is something new and business will have to adapt or die, as it always has.
  6. The reason I've heard is that the distributors feel that kickstarted projects have already reached market saturation, thus carrying the product is pointless. I'm sure the PDFs that many projects have given out get spread around the internet even faster that illicit scans and the like. There's also some developing issues related to online retailers that clouds the issue further. Personally, I disagree that even a majority of Kickstarted projects reached market saturation, but I'm no expect. All I know is that I've been unable to afford tons of games and products and I would be first in line to buy them.
  7. I hate to say it, but I made it about two minutes into Dorkness Rising before I said 'Nope' and returned it to Netflix.
  8. I recently had an issue ordering a mini via my friend's store. We both said it was probably out of stock because they were trying to get the ROW Kickstarter stuff out. If it was me, I would give them until the end of the year to get things worked out. Then again, I don't run a business, so that might not be the best way to handle it. Hopefully, things get sorted out and your store doesn't drop Reaper stuff.
  9. I haven't even finished a handful of my Bones yet. I'll probably back the new kickstarter, but I doubt it's going to be as good a deal as the first one. I'll back it because I like Reaper's product, but if they don't have anything I really want, I won't throw down as much as last time. The Chronoscope Bones were the ones I really wanted and I doubt there will be many of those this time around, based on how many people were saying "I'm just going to throw them in a box" or "I'll just give them away."
  10. Clearly, I should have nothing else to do today but post on the forums...

  11. I had stairs fall apart while I was walking down then almost exactly a year ago, fell about 10 feet and didn't break a single bone. I did get a ride in an ambulance for the first time in my life and need a cane on 'bad days.'
  12. For some reason, I've been listening to a ton of t.A.T.u. lately. It's the perfect mesh of my late teens/early 20's nostalgia and my interest in all thing Russian.
  13. This happened when I played an All Flesh game last night. I was playing Phil and another player who is going through some 'stuff' was playing Nutjob. We've been having a bit of trouble between the two of us because he can't stay focused on the game lately. After he pretty much solo'd the boss, all was forgiven.
  14. I'm the same way. I have to have something to ignore to focus on something. That sounds really weird when I say that... Because of my work, I become hyper-aware when things get quiet. When the city shuts down at night, there's almost total silence between 2am and 4am, which is when stuff happens, to I get all hyped up and flinch when the rats move around in the bushes and the like. Twilight hours. Used to work through those. Feels weird. I don't mind it too much, especially during the summer. Getting to sleep during the heat of the day is pretty nice. Also, I get heroin dealers arrested, so that's a nice perk. To go back to topic, MST3K is the best thing to have on when you're painting. Good episode? Just stop what you're doing and watch it. Bad episode? Keep working and you don't get bored.
  15. Money and space are the main factors for me. I've spent so much money on minis in the past six years, and almost none of them are painted. I managed to summon some self control and haven't picked up more than a handful of minis since the Bones KS, and I'm not buying any more gaming minis until I finish all of the minis in an army. The price increases by some companies have also helped control my spending.
  16. I guess I need to send another email because I sent them one in May and haven't heard a peep about my replacements yet. Dang it... Edit: I mean, I got a response within 48 hours, but no "We've sent your replacement" email yet. I even offered to show them pictures of my empty bag and miscast. They can be seen in my blog linked below...

  18. What the hell did I just watch? Hang on, let me find my brain bleach...
  19. I just finished re-reading all of the Day By Day Armageddon books. One of the best zombie series out there, in my opinion. Now, I'm thinking about re-reading the Morningstar Strain books or going to the Goodwill and grabbing a few $2 paperbacks.
  20. I don't how you guys can paint in silence. I hate silence, so I always have music playing or the TV on when I'm home. I have to have music playing when I'm asleep or I wake up a lot during the night.
  21. I paint to relax. I put on a movie or a TV show and just zone out while I work. I enjoy the feeling of accomplishment that happens when I'm done with a model, because god knows how many half finished writing/RPG/etc projects are littering my harddrive and notebooks. When I finish a mini, I know it's done. When I finish a squad or group, I feel like I'm really getting things done... Then I look at my boxes of unpainted minis and sigh.
  22. My father and I are members of the 'Flying Cat' school of cat training. Cat getting up on the counters? Easy to solve: 1. Pick up the cat gently 2. While holding the cat, bring your arms back and target a clear space on the floor 3. Bring your arms forward and release the cat 4. Repeat steps if the cat continues preforming prohibited activities. I don't throw them hard, just a gentle toss. My ex's cat kept getting into the trash and on the counters when we got our own place. It took him maybe three weeks of being tossed into the front room from the kitchen to get the message. If he got on the counters when I was around, he'd bolt if I caught him before I could catch him.
  23. I'm really looking forward to painting up that one. He's very cool looking in person. Even if his cables aren't all there.
