  1. There really isn't a right or wrong way to do this; it kinda comes down to what works the best for you.

     

    What I usually do is:

    glue figure to base

    use green stuff/ other modeling putty, sand, Liquitex modeling paste or whatever else materials are on hand to do the basic basing/blending of broccoli bases into the rest of the base

    prime

    paint (since I tend to just paint my bases brown in preparation for other groundwork, I usually paint the base last so I can touch up any stray paint on the base)

    add flock, static grass, tufts, or whatever else I want on the base
