    This is an awesome project there is only one thing missing that I really wanted to see...Where is the Spelljamming helm/throne?  I'm guessing its below decks or something it wouldnt make much sense to put in top side lol.  I JUST ordered my 2nd ed Spelljammer boxed set and it comes with cardboard mini ships for space battles but I am thinking I want to make smaller sculpts for them instead.  I love the paint job!

    I thought Spelljammer was OOP?  What are these cardboard minis like?

     

    It is OOP as far as 2nd ed goes anyway but I got a good copy from ebay.  As far as the cardboard minis that come with it go I think they are just pieces or thin cardboard with a monochrome picture of the different types of ships so nothing really special.  I will post pictures if you like when it arrives

     

     

    Just read through the WIP, and...I, just...I don't even... How?

     

    I had a life-art professor that once joked (while lampooning a student) that talent between humans is a Zero-Sum game, and that if one person draws too much from the creativity pool, it leaves less for the rest of us. He was joking of course. At least, I thought he was until I saw this.

     

    So congrats, you broke my brain, and aparently you have all the talent. This is literally the most creative thing I have seen in a D&D or miniatures forum. I almost feel like we should contact a museum just in case your Black Moon's Bane goes missing somehow and we have to send government agents to track it down.

     

    And so you know, I just started a slow-clap to aplaud your jewel-and-star encrusted ship, and I'm in my office's cafeteria.

    Thanks.  I gave some thought to the Spelljamming helm, but ultimately decided to leave it belowdecks, as it were.  I like to think it is behind the blue cabin door, visible towards the back of the ship:

    This explains the unearthly glows coming from the rear cabin windows.

    As long as I'm throwing up more pictures, this was my setup before I laid down the fabric and the ship.  You can see the nice soft egg crate foam which made the wave forms under the fabric and cradled the ship while I took photos.

    I finished this two months ago, but apparently I'm still basking.

     

     

    I was thinking that is where it was it really wouldn't make much sense for it to be above deck this makes me really want to undertake something like this but I am just now learning to paint skeletons with my Bones L2PK so something like this paintjob is FAR in the distance lol

    Hello all I just ordered 25 pounds of merlins magic and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on mixing ratios.  My first attempt didn't go so well I think I got too much water in there and I dont think it mixed very well, the top part was way runny and near the bottom it was almost like cement I don't know if I just mixed it poorly or didn't pour in time or what but any help would be appreciated thanks!

    Thank you for all the info I went in and bought some "Art grade casting plaster".  It wasn't the plaster of paris you get in a bucket we were out of that (it was on clearance argh!) but it came in a bag inside a box so maybe it is a little stronger but I doubt it lol.  Anywho tomorrow will mark the day that I join the ranks of the casters I am very excited!!

    Thank you both I work at michaels so I get a discount is one of the reasons I was wondering.  As long as it doesn't do anything to the mold It can't hurt to play around with it.  Plus most of the things I am molding will be dungeon dressing (the armoire, tables, bar tops things like that) so it shouldn't be too bad) I'm just too excited to wait lol

    This one I JUST bought from michaels for my bones 1 vampire set (got it on sale and with employee discount).  It works great and fits ALL of my over 250 bones minis including my colossal skeleton, giants, and ebonwrath in the top part and all the rest organized in the bottom and it is easy to just pick up and go with.

    Siri that is WAY awesome and this is coming from someone who LOVES water elements and features!  It was very well done and sorta wanna make mine like that now but I have so many other giant water creatures coming I may just leave him normal AH!  But really again very nice

    It is sorta fun to live vicariously through everyone that is there at least.  It has been so long since I've been to a con of any kind.  If I can swing it I REALLY want to go to Gen Con next year.  I have a TON of Forgotten Realms stuff I need Ed Greenwood to sign lol

    @Hungerfan Yea now that I finally found a job I plan on going next year and a VERY nice reaper forumite has generously offered to get me the new L2PK I just need to pay for it and shipping but as soon as I get that I will begin to paint the vampire set I recently got so I know how you feel can't wait till september!

    MAAAAAAAN!!!!  I hate only living like 5 hours from reaper yet I STILL haven't been to a reapercon OR HQ that changes next year though and I will probably over do it by showing up in home made leather armor lol its sorta my thing....

    Ok awesome I will do that I know someone mentioned they had messaged reaper and they put one together for them but I can't remember who or when.  I am sure it won't take them long to get them to the masses I can't wait, my fiancee after painting our DF game tiles wants to start on these as well lol

    Now the question is how long after the Con will these be available to the general public.  I wonder cause mainly my next purchase from them was going to be a normal L2PK for the vampire set I picked up recently.  I was wondering should I just go ahead and wait for these to become available or try to get an original one?

    @pheonixwizzy You can do what I did and check out ebay every now and then.  I got a vampire box set WITH Kaladrax, Nethyrmaul, Wyrmgear, and Cthullhu AS WELL AS all the paints that came in that KS for $250 with free shipping which is a REALLY good deal.  I know they keep popping up ever so often cause during the dwarven forge cavern KS I mentioned this same thing to another backer and after a few days he found one and bought it.  Good Luck with it and I have THOROUGHLY enjoyed mine ever since I got it can't wait to get the 2nd one in september!
