  1. Hello all I have long wanted some hirst arts molds and soon I might be in the position to obtain some.  That being said there are quite a few and I was wondering for someone who has none one are say 5 of the best over all to get.  The ones that are moreversatile and I would get the most use out of.  I play mostly D&D in the Forgotten Realms setting.  I was thinking about getting #'s 57, 58, and 59 thanks in advance for the info!

  2.

Yea pretty much all my funds are going to the next dwarven forge KS and if I have some extra either the MBA or Creature Caster when they launch.  On the other hand I have a job interview tomorrow at Michael's Arts and Crafts so hopefully soon I will have extra KS money!  Here's hoping fingers crossed!

Lucky. I'd love an employee discount at Michael's or Hobby Lobby!

So would I lol its been so long since I've had a decent job I REALLY REALLY hope I get it maybe I can bribe them into it by saying I'll spend most of my check there lol

  4. Edmund looked over all the weapons and items laid on the tables before him, he had to admit it was quite impressive.  He passed up all the large weapons such as the long and bastard swords and went straight to the short swords.  While the other weapons were impressive they seemed too large and unwieldy as he was use to the cramped spaces of the mines where he learned to look for the stones he cuts.  He was use to swinging a pickaxe and how much different could this be he thought to himself.  He also takes a dagger that he puts in his belt and one of the wands and some rations.

    ...

As they leave the city and start to come into the hills Edmund's nerves hits him and he begins to wonder what he has gotten himself into.  When Marcus mentions whatever our quarry is it lies in the caves his tensions ease, "At least it's not a forest" he thought, something about a dense forest made him uneasy he wasn't sure if it was the way the treetops affected the light, or maybe how eerily quiet it could get.

  5. Man 40 years huh?  I agree with Darsc Zacal it has been a fun ride and I can say with confidence I would not have had the magical and inventive childhood that I did nor would I be the person I am now without it.  Thank you Gary for introducing the world to such a great past time (more of a way of life for some of us) wish you were still at the table with us!

  6. That's very nice I've been messing around with greenstuff and building up to trying to do a complete mini but am still very leery and intimidated at actually starting one lol.  If my first attempt (not saying this was yours) came out half this good I would feel very encouraged!

  7. Yea I'm super excited about their caverns KS I should have enough for 5 sets.  I might have more money depending on how this deal goes.  I bought a vampire set from a guy on the forums for 170 but its been 2 weeks now almost and no word from him so I don't know whats going on...

How does the kickstarter price match up with the price on the website now? You're looking at $150 for 3 unpainted sets which really isn't a lot or terrain, that's a small dungeon. How many sets would it take to make a "Against the Giants" map???

The $150 for 3 unpainted sets is the same price as the KS add-ons. IIRC, The basic sets are the "same" price as KS without the stretch goals.

Each tile is about 10x10, and, for the basic tiles, ended up $1 per tile if you included the stretch goals.

DF tiles aren't cheap in the same way that a GW army isn't cheap.

GT are much more affordable than their master maze line considering 150 gets you 3 sets of GT where as 150 would only get you 1 master maze room and passage set.  Not to mention you can do a good bit with 3 sets nothing HUGE mind you but you can at least build the room you are in.  For what you get 50 dollars per set really isn't bad to say you are able to make a 3d version of your dungeon.  I can't imagine it getting much cheaper.  I can't wait for their next caverns KS!

  9. To be honest it looks like the labyrinths KS is a bunch of Hirst arts molds made into some modular terrain.  As I have never messed with hirst arts (yet)  I can't say how good it is but if you're using it to game with it will work if you want some caverns I would suggest waiting until the next dwarven forge KS in about a month or so!
