  1. I wouldn't worry about the BIG minis. Those are most likely to be bones exclusives if only because reaper wouldn't commission the sculpt if they didn't WANT to use it. We'll be getting them this time or Bones 4. The 'smaller' figs (ogre size and smaller) are less guaranteed. I just don't think these could move enough in resin / metal to justify molding costs. Dragon God Black Goat D'hole (Plated worm) World Maggot Male Frost Giants Bonehenge
  2. But all the clothing and armor remains the same :) Saggy troll boobs... nooooooo! Also, gender-swapped reptiles would look the exact same, so that's kind of pointless. Well, WotC did a super sexy ogress already... That's supposed to be a female ogre? Yeeesh! No wonder they went all Deliverance in Pathfinder.
  3. I'm guessing it's a Not - Dark Young of Shub-Niggurath. I say a 'not-dark young' because while many Lovecraftain things have fallen into de facto public domain, like the phrase "Iä! Shub-Niggurath! The Black Goat of the Woods with a Thousand Young!", other things have not. The shape and name of the "dark young" was a more modern creation of authors who's works might have not yet entered PD. The shape of the monster specifically was a creation of Bloch in 1951, while naming them 'dark young' was done by Chaosium when they were bulking up their bestiary.
  4. Nice Ideas! I'm trying to brainstorm an angle rack for 2 oz craft paints. I hear that!
  5. I'm sure they didn't mean this to the sound the way I'm reading this.
  6. Was tempted until I saw the jigsaw nature of the humans. Practically every head, limb and weapon as a separate piece is a moral breaker for me. Not a deal breaker, just enough to kill my interest this time.
  7. So you using this in a RPG or you doing it just for the art?
  8. So is the Euro scheduled for any major devaluating, like while the KS might be running? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greek_government-debt_crisis
  9. Cute. BTW show finally brought her back if you care. Now I want a mini for her vulture headed, fez wearing grandfather, If I ever find one, might give him a 8-ball cane for cross fandom fun.
  10. If you plan on using a grid using 30mm or 1.5" squares, that could work. But I'd recommend trying to fit the man sized figs you can on 25mm round. Even if you have to elevate them a bit, this way most will be usable between systems both gridded and non gridded. You might have to upsize some bases to 30mm round or 1.5" round for Reapers worst cases of scale creep and bow leggedness. Bulk? How many bases we talking here? How much height you want the base to add? You need to be able to Pin to the base? "20mm wood buttons" from chinese suppliers on ebay can be pretty cheap. US pennies will be cheaper at 19.5mm "Learning Resources two color counters" (split in half) are VERY cheap 1" bases. Poker chips make great bases for many ogre sized figs. Cheap ridged chips are normally 1.5" across. Heavier unridged or 'clay' variety are often 40mm across. 2" bases can be tricky to get 'bulk' cheap. I think some online sellers of fender washers can be cheap enough on bulk orders. 3" bases are practically free if you eat canned food and have the right kind of can opener. 4" bases can be had 4 for $1 in the walmart housewares isle as plastic coasters.
  11. Rules arguments are fine for a forum. At the table, you remind the player who is running the game, so they deal with with it or they can choose to run their own game.
  12. Are siege weapons really that hard to craft?
  13. GOOD! I can't speak for others but I'm sick of female minis exposing skin or modeled to look pretty. Thank the gods that prepainted minis have FAR less pressure to sell X units based on appearance. Worse. I hear the hill giant looking down at the party fighter and rumbling, "you sure got a purdy mouth. . . ." *shudder* That's the Pathfinder ogres. Thier bestiary entry almost deserves a trigger warning.
  14. The firearm It is always loaded. Never point it at something you don't want destroyed. If it falls, DO NOT try to catch it.
  15. So it's not just me? This is such a relief! Nope, not just you. We should start a club or something. Isn't THIS forum THE club? Not necessarily, the naysayers just tend to stay quiet. Some of us have always been bitter over Heroic (lack of) Scale even if it lets sculptors squeeze in a little more detail.
  16. www.kickstarter.com/projects/iga/bloodstained-ritual-of-the-night An exploration-focused, side-scrolling platformer featuring RPG and crafting elements. Koji Igarashi, the namesake of "Igavania"-style games, is leading the project, with Michiru Yamane composing the music and Inti Creates leading the development. If funded, the game will be developed for XBOX One, Playstation 4, and PC. For the first time on Kickstarter, backers will have the option to receive actual PS4 / XB1 / PC retail discs. Already at 2.3 million. Very interested in the game myself.
  17. Feathered serpent would be cool, but a eastern dragon with feathers not so much. Crystalline dragon would be excellent. Hopefully reaper goes with clear so the end user can glaze the colours they want.
  18. Why avoid them? Because I'm a fan of messageboards, not vanity pages with gods know what background scripts running.
  19. No, no blog, and I make it a point to avoid them.
  20. Taboo? Only if you plan on trying to resell the fig on the secondary market would a new paintjob be a problem. Now if you post it in Show Off, you should be expressly clear what parts if any are original Factory Paint. Getting the fig like that removed from base? Gently working a screwdriver between fig and base might work. Paint stripping? Clix can be trouble. Acetone scrub worked on older figs, but might be dangerous to a newer fig. Also it will cloud any clear clix very swiftly. Soaking in acetone is not recommended, will ruin clix. Also the hard plastic base will liquefy on exposure to acetone.
  21. That would be great. Not a lot of options for clear weapons out there.
  22. Looks pretty good. Are they on the ALDI brand paper towels?
  23. Is that really a Jedi wood elf with a fat crocodile? Your games look like lots of fun! It's just a Glassteel greatsword (2nd edition version of the effect, not the OP 3E version). Testing weapon swap on this guy because the mini's original weapon looks dumb.
  24. This guy is the one who popularized the term. It's a method of simulating 3 dimensional dungeons on a semi flat surface.
