    Show Off Your First Mini!

Agree totally with you there, this place has to be one of the best forums I've been to. And likewise, enjoying improving my mini painting, and totally surprised my wife is loving it even more. Definitely hurts the wallet though ;)

    Show Off Your First Mini!

My mum found these packed away and took a couple pics. They'd be from sometime between '91 and '94 Way different to the stuff I've started doing now using the L2PKs! Looks like only single colours (no drybrushing/blending/washing etc). Didn't know what any of that was back then. And I loved the metallic paints too by the looks, haha.

    [OPEN/GROUP] WIP L2PK4

Good work on the blue skin Obsidian, I went with the blue hair instead ;) I did the nymph and my wife did the big dude. I think she won this round too So that's all our kits done that I bought. Would it be useful to buy and go on to 3 and 5 now? Reaper Zombies

In practice for Zombicide which we are receiving later my wife and I are trying a few of the Reaper Zombies (http://www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/zombie/latest/77014). We are playing with a few different colours to see what can be achieved and what looks good. Here's the first two: Next up is L2PK4, will try to get some better photos closer up too. All these ones so far have been a bit too far away I think. Here's our previous Learn 2 Paint efforts: http://www.reapermini.com/forum/index.php?/topic/46096-groupopenwip-l2pk1/?p=710480 http://www.reapermini.com/forum/index.php?/topic/46157-opengroup-wip-l2pk2/?p=716101

Yeah, did the same and looking at the people so far who made them brown it looks a lot better.

    [Open/Group] WIP L2PK2

So unlike our previous efforts with the L2PK1 (http://www.reapermini.com/forum/index.php?/topic/46096-groupopenwip-l2pk1/?p=710480) we had much better lighting and also used magnifiers to better see the detail on our miniatures. Here's the end result: My wife did the sorceress and I did Tsuko. We've decided that I prefer the shadow/mid/highlight layering technique and she prefers using a wash/drybrush technique! Onwards to L2PK4 via some Reaper zombies first, will post those up soon. We're both enjoying the whole process, really surprised my wife is happy to sit there for hours painting. Now to get her to play some games ;)

My wife and I have started to learn how to paint minis. I did it for a short period nearly 25 years ago, back when there was nowhere near the resources available now. [Edit: got pics! http://www.reapermini.com/forum/index.php?/topic/49581-show-off-your-first-mini/?p=723650] We didn't have adequate lighting and no magnification for these ones. Hopefully our attempts at L2PK2 where we will have more of both will show an improvement. Looking at the the soldier and the rat under magnification now shows us all our little mistakes. Still, we're just considering it a small step on a long journey! Here's our results:
