Is this phrased this way for a reason? Does Army Painter black primer not work? Also, would using a varnish before applying primer change anything? I want to be able to prime my minis if I'm going to add green stuff or anything else to them, right?

Brush on primer should always be fine, but I have heard horror stories from aerosol sealers as well as primer.  I don't think that a layer of varnish will guarantee that a spray primer won't become tacky.

Disappointing, I was hoping this whole 'Pick whatever freebie Christmas mini you want' thing would mean I could just buy the Christmas minis I want (the Christmas Ghosts).

Anyone know if that's going to be an option later in the month? I really don't know where to go to get info on what Reaper's doing these days.

I'm wondering that as well.  I've also been looking for the Christmas Eve & Knight crew, are they going to be available this year??

It's been assigned SKU 9608, which is in the range used for Special Edition colors.

Thanks.  Now I have to debate how badly I want it and whether I'm willing to risk waiting...  Do the 12 Days start on December 1st?  I've been so busy with Thanksgiving prep that I haven't been keeping up with the Twitch stuff.

    Thanks,

    I know you're right.

I also know I will need to repeat that maybe 40 times..

Redambrosia already covered the insurance stuff, but remember that the seller wants to sell you the house, the bank wants to give you a mortgage and the insurance is just to cover everyone's risk, including yours.  Personally I panic more about having to pack everything, buying a house and moving is stressful for pretty much everyone.  Just remember to take time to destress with hobbying or fun activities with your family.

Speaking of which, I need to start doing mom things.  I've got a turkey to cook and whatnot.

Are you sure the girlfriend's are not just giving convenient excuses so that daughter can spend time alone with male friend...?

Edit: Never mind, I've read the follow-up conversation.

The sick one was genuinely sick and needed to recover in time for their choir concert yesterday.  I suspect that the other, wiser friend did not want to be a third wheel.

Today all three daughters are tired and melting down.  I'm kinda looking forward to Monday at this point.

My singing can put Megan to sleep as well.

    The Auld Grump

When the girls were tiny, hubby could tuck their heads under his chin and hum or sing softly so that they settled down.  Something about the lower pitch and the human contact.  But I'll admit that I have done the "we're sleeping because it's sleepy time" routine with our kids too.  Works better with toddlers than anything else I remember.

If you live in an area that is "really dark" at night please consider outside lighting that will produce the minimum amount of backscatter and skylighting.

Some of your neighbors may have moved to the area because it is dark at night.  Such as amateur astronomers.

Pic and Save Big Lots and similar often have the solar powered stake lights for  a buck each.

Plug the stake into the ground and you're good to go.

Well two of the neighbors have already got more lights up than we're likely to bother with, and we're close enough to Seattle/Bellevue that there's a fair bit of light from there messing with the star gazing.  Especially on overcast nights, which is most of them.  I just want to be able to find my driveway in the dark without hitting any of the cars parked on the street.

Normally I have the lights on a timer but given the recent issues with theft and vandalism I might tweak it to have the lights on all night.  They're only LEDs, and mostly on one large shrub.
