  1. I don't know anything about 3D printing so don't know the specs or materials. It's the Earth Brewery by Dicey miniatures. I was thinking of picking up an primer for wood rather than miniatures so it would fill in small cracks then sanding it and priming it again with miniature primer. I was worried all the vertical and horizontal lines catching light would ruin any illusion of texture and grain. Also considering using hot glue to at more realistic texture but have never done it on something this large so am a little gun-shy.
  2. Anyone have tips or advice for dealing with the texture of 3D printed scenery pieces. I would love to get it to a texture more typical of resin, bones, metal, etc so the unnatural printing lines don't show.
  3. Will Ursula the Bear Rider be back in Bones before the end of the Halloween ghoulie bad special? It's the main thing I want.
  4. I see a lot of people raving about the new Metallic paints reaper sells, (Dragon, Dwarven, Etc). I have the 8 Game Color metallics set plus the discontinued game color chainmail. Are any of the new Metallics different enough to add to my collection?
  5. You might want to try the new Windsor Newton Series 7 "miniature" line. They are shorter so the tip stays nicer and easier to control. I got a size 1 and love it so much more than my regular Series 7 size 1.
  6. I just started using Army Painters basing snow. It doesn't look quite right. Am I supposed to paint it like I would sand or just leave it as is?
  7. I bought some paints last week from Reaper. I logged on specifically wanting to get the colors Warpaint, Rust Red and Mekong River (I believe they were called, but found them removed from the paint section. Were they discontinued? Will they be back? Is there any way of getting them?
  8. I bought the 9001-9111 box of Reaper paints a couple years ago and love them but have looked back at the stuff I painted before when I was using GW and notice I used much bolder combos then. I have gotten so stuck in the mind set of using the Reaper Triads for everything that I never really looked at the 108 paints that I have to see what other triads I could be making to get more out of the paints I already have. Does anyone have any custom triads they have made out of the reaper paints that they love? For example I have a traid of 9029, 9072, & 9006 for painting red hair. Or 9024, 9274 & 9048 for dark elves.
  9. Thanks, never heard of them. What did you call them, Bonds Miniatures? I will look for them.
  10. What about Juliette from Bones 1? It was pulled from retail because the hand wouldnt cast right but its a great mini I swapped a hand from another bones and its one of my favorite female casters, would love another.
  11. I used to use a wet palette but found reaper paints behaved weird even with as little water as sits on a wet palette, so I went back to one of those plastic wheel palettes.
  12. If I order just paint do I get it right away or do I have to wait until April 2017? Also, will there be more factions and paint sets or is it just a 2 faction Kickstarter?
  13. Sorry thought Liquitex was the name, It's called Liquitex Professional Flow-Aid. I have found reaper paints are very hard to work with when I add water, they get way too runny and the color seems to become uneven. I will try 3-1 paint-water and 10-1 Flow-aid. I saw someone else say 5-1.
  14. I started painting with GW paints and have switched to all reaper. I love the triads but feel my fine highlighting suffers because of how thick reaper paint is and how I can't just add water like I did in the past with GW paints. I bought some Liquitex and wanted to know if anyone with experience with it could recommend a good water to liquitex ratio and then a Reaper paint to liquitex mix ratio. I only use brushes, no sprayers and I am not really interested in buying additional products to add to the mix.
  15. Will the new bones for Bones 3 be a little more ridged? I have been painting a lot of Cool Mini or Not's stuff lately and liking it much better than my Bones 2 stuff. Their fine detail holds up much better. They have a kickstarter finishing tomorrow which is all D&D type stuff but I figured if Bones 3 are improved I will have no shortage of D&D stuff to paint. Also are there any of the new greyer bones for sale other than in CAV? I would like to order some and see what the smaller player characters look like in the new material.
