  2. I had never heard that before. None of the previews seem to show any of the wackier or more surreal parts of Rackham. Was it like sanitized to be more generic or are they jsut showing the normal fantasy bits?
  3. I have played the adventure path and could try to give you a list but I'm not sure what is considered spoilers. Would mentioning other egyptian mythological creatures that appear be spoilers, because you're missing a really obvious one that does show up later in the story?
  4. I'd have to say that new minis by and large are better, but that in the old lines there was a lot less of the cash grab filler minis. In the modern era particularly with most recent D&D prepainted line and GW there are several minis that just sorta seem there to fill in the ranks without any sort of care taken to make them interesting. Whenever you get a newer miniature that someone pores their heart into it's almost always superior to the older ones if only due to better tools and material.
  5. Looks interesting enough to me, and as a subscriber to Pathfinder Battles I don't really have a prejudice against prepainted. That being said I'll need to see more finished models before I back.
  6. Vegepygmies were promised in the Tome of Horror kickstarters and got to the sculpt stage, but it's anyone's guess as to whether or not they'll ever actually be released. As for merrows Pathfinder battles had a bog giant which is to merrows as hill giants are to ogres. So kinda on both counts,
  7. Sorry if this seems like I'm piling on but most of these are actually AD&D monsters or monsters from 3.5. The gremlins are the most Pathfinder monster, though I'm not sure which specific pathfinder gremlin they're supposed to be (there are like seven different gremlins in PF). The stitch golems have no analog from Pathfinder, but seem to be either based on Oogie Boogie or the AD&D Ravenloft doll golems. The armadillo is weird and seems like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles monster. Then the blights are from the very first premade adventure for 3.0 D&D, the Sunless Citadel.
  8. Sorry I wasn't trying to imply that you were deliberately misleading anyone. Though the smooth look is because the released one is a mars pattern titan. The boxy ones are Lucius pattern, no telling when that version will be out if ever.
  9. I believe that for the scope of this project, the size you are asking for is beyond the realm of possibility. We are only beginning to experiment with larger figures than were possible in metal, and are doing so gradually (since we are risk-averse). Perhaps in the future we will comfortable with such a model, but for this project I will say No. Something to point out is that the photo is of the enormous cardboard prop set up for gameday not the actual minis. The final mini that only came out this year was a much more manageable, but still large, size and only available in resin.
  10. Not sure if this has been posted yet, but I found something I think you guys might be interested in.
  11. The froghemoth is an amazing classic monster. Stands in very well for any huge weird thing monster, but honestly I want the dark young model they showed off at Reapercon significantly more. It's good for similar reasons but just looks better. Now if I got both I would be even happier, but if it's just the dark young I'll be satisfied. The thing with Europe is really they just need to admit they can't survive on their own. Get on with it and let Canada annex most of you. That way you'll be a part of NAFTA all clean and easy and your absurd VATs will plummet to reasonable humane levels of taxation.
  12. So is the 750 gold upgrade a gree addon to the starter sets or a paid addon? Also have they said anything about a byzantii version of the upgrade?
  13. I have both, and you're right. Thje image is of the non-collectable version. The main places where the paint job differs is in the chest, face, and barbs. With the original collectible version had a lot more details and generally more colors. For instance the barbs aren't just flat white.
  14. Fair warning this is simply not true. The non-collectible version has a substantially worse paint job and shallower details. The former was to reduce cost for a board game by reducing the number of paint steps, and the latter seems to be from aging molds.
  15. Does anyone had advice on how to find a mini of an ogre in heavy armor preferably full plate.
  16. Well there is another side to this
  17. My body is ready. That not-dark young mini looks amazing, on par with or better than the fantasy flight one which is currently the gold standard for dark young minis.
  18. I'm probably mostly in for the lust elf centaurs, worms, and various monsters.
  19. Okay I could accept that, as prepubecents are essentially a separate species from those of us that have gone through puberty.
  20. Dimorphism is cool it just needs a reason. Like your setup sounds pretty cool, and similar enough to ones I suggested. Though with male gorilla vs female gorilla you still have the females carrying a lot more fat than the males. They're smaller overall but not super lithe, which is my main problem with this kickstarter's mini. It seems like the orc princess was designed with sexiness in mind first and any lore a distant second.
  21. Yeah assuming orcs are mammals this logic doesn't really hold up. Women tend to have less musculature but not that much less, and retain fat much better than men. So with male orcs being ultra hulks female orcs should be sore of pear shaped/wide hourglass. My solution is to have the pig orcs of oldschool lines be orc ladies and the tusked muscle men being orc men, but I know not everyone finds that appealing. It is possible as mammals orcs would have one of the really weird environment specific dimorphisms like hyenas or lions, but we'd need to know more about their social structures that would enable such differences. Like how female lions are smaller but better at sustained running in order to make stealthy hunters, while the males are muscular and really display oriented but bad at distant running because their whole job is playing guard dog. So maybe you could get skinny girl orcs if they were like lions but that would mean orc raiders should be all female affairs, with the males waiting back at base. I'd almost go with that and just say goblins are female orcs.
  22. So has there been any feedback on whether the jotun will be available as two for a rank?
  23. There may also be a beholder based conversion in my future. It it happens I will keep the forums informed.
  24. It is the combination of several abilities directly augmenting my familiar and my character's desire to be a warhammer fantasy general in combat. Unfortunately the original mount/familiar candidate an enormous cockatrice was killed saving the party. My replacement familiar was an animated zombie head, and as a result my concept has gone from warhammer general to more castlevania boss. So something like this: Except instead of being a naked demon lady it's a slightly effeminate fat dude wearing brightly colored outfits. I do actually have this particular mini. I will see what I can do, though I'm thinking I might need something just a tad bit bigger.
  25. One of my characters recently came into the possession of a familiar in the shape of a giant head. Does anyone know of a miniature that looks like a giant floating head or skull? Specifically one that would fill a two inch base.
