  1. I think the forests probably came last and felt to them somewhat different, so they weren't really thinking in terms of negative space with the forests. The videos and pics they shot last night using the water trays "outside" with the forest looked awesome. Even better, I think, than they look in the caverns, where they look pretty good. So far this is the only thing I've really heard bandied about by DF for the pledge manager, so it seems to be the most likely. Every year, at least a small handful of new things appear there. We'll see.
  2. Word is there is a strong chance these will arrive in the PM, along with forest banks.
  3. The Apex Primordial has convinced me to get the Dreadhollow Adventure Pack, I think. I hadn't planned on it, but... that guy is intense. And big.
  4. My wife hasn't asked me that. First, I think, because she sees how insanely happy it makes me; and second, because she immediately goes and buys another houseful of yarn every time I get a delivery.
  5. KS6 is turning out to be quite the KS. A lot of amazing stuff in it, and the way it's broken down into adventure packs, you can get some highlight pieces without having to spend $1000. That's really nice. For someone whose looking to fill an entire table with terrain, this will be more expensive than KS2 by a pretty wide margin (but the new pieces are nicer and more dynamic than the earlier ones). But for someone who wants to pick and choose, I think they've done a fantastic job this time breaking things down so people can just get what they want without paying for what they don't want. Definitely worth a look in the final hours, especially now that the packs are filled in with stretch goals. One thing they've done this time, which I absolutely love, is the Deadliest Dungeon Designs conference videos. They really highlight the encounters in a fun way. The actual encounter breakdown videos are great, too. Since DoD, they've done a much better job showing people what they're really getting.
  6. I got my pre-shipment notice for my third, and final, shipment last night. Soon I'll have my hands on an elevation platform. Really looking forward to seeing it. And 3 add-on packs to flesh out my khri colony.
  7. Have you contacted customer service? I thought all their orders for the US went out about 2 weeks ago. I got mine 6 days ago, and I figured I was about the last. It's really unfortunate there were no shipping notices or tracking numbers. The delays don't bother me really; it's not knowing whether or not its even coming.
  8. We were in the live audience for the Gen Con stream where they revealed the Dreadhollow. My wife said, "I don't care what you get, just get me those trees." (Or at least that's what it sounded like to me.) For KS5, I (for the first time) switch to painted at the last minute. I got less, but I don't regret it ... too much. This year I'm having a hard time going with painted. First, I don't know that the trees/forests will come out as nice factory painted -- it's a more complicated job. Second, I'm just balking at the added cost. We'll see, I guess. Two days to go.
  9. I got almost all the rest of my order last week -- same day as my Secret Weapon stuff. Secret Weapon hadn't given me any notice, but DF gave me two tracking numbers from UPS. So when Fedex showed up with a single box, I was very confused! I still need my Khri add-ons and my elevation box. My buddy got his elevation box, so I don't know what the difference is.
  10. I got all my stuff in last week. It looks great! Are people priming these? If not, do people think a thin base coat of spray paint would work, or is there a possibility of the surface going tacky? The material is a pretty light color, so I'd like to make it uniformly dark before starting, in the easiest way possible. That way I can just build up layers of drybrush like I do with Dwarven Forge stuff.
  11. Can I ask whether you found the 2nd hand pieces online or in person? And if online, where?
  12. Amazing Job! Do you plan on ever doing Youtube videos again? I really appreciated the ones you did!
  13. Do you put brown liner right over the green stuff, or does it have to be primed first? Amazing job all around!
  14. There is also one in Princes of the Apocalypse. That one is also huge.
  15. Thanks! The wedding was fun! There were lots of great minis. You know you're going to make a new friend when you can start a conversation with "you painted the Reaper Eye Beast, right?"
  16. The only issue I noticed with my KS4 order was that instead of getting 4 standard corner platforms and two transition platforms for the towers, I received 6 standard platforms. But I think I can just cut the extra bits off two of the standard ones to make them the same as transition; so I don't think I'll bother with a replacement. My arch walls are also a bit smaller than they should be, so I'm going to put a touch of green stuff on their edges so they fit into the CBS slots better. Another thing not worth really worrying about --- although apparently in some cases, this is a bigger issue. Some report that the CBS walls make the modular castle walls bow out, or the new arch walls just sliding right out of the original CBS pieces. Some kind of shrinkage problem at the factory... the factory really should be held responsible for that... they're supposed to be able to produce these to pretty tight specifications, and they seem to have failed on that. (Maybe DF should have caught it, but then maybe this issue didn't occur in the test pieces sent to them.) Hope you get your stuff soon, Talae! I imagine it's still a busy time for them... did you send an email and not hear back? If so, and it's been a few days, I might send an email to check... by all accounts, Suzy is very responsive.
  17. I use imgur and have been happy with it. When people were talking about Photobucket being evil, I thought they meant the utterly insane amount of adds/popups/etc... I didn't realize they were basically trying to ransom people as well. Some amazing sculptors and painters still use photobucket, and it's the point where I can't even look at what they're doing. I won't click a photobucket link anymore; it's not worth my time. For people who feel they haven't found a solution, I'm wondering what issues they have with imgur.
  18. I hear they're making great strides in the area of genetically engineered acrylics. In other news, on the off-topic topic of word usage, in particular "organic" that is exactly how I described resin caverns set I just saw yesterday, because of how naturally moving and sprawling they were, in contrast to the standard "gridded" terrain we see, which tends to be rectangular and lego-like. One meaning or organic is "life-like" even when the "life" in life-like isn't describing actual life, but rather something realistic and natural-appearing -- quoting google "characterized by continuous or natural development". Words have technical meanings (which vary from field to field and sometimes within a field), casual meanings, and metaphorical meanings. Also dwarves and "cut from the living stone" yada yada... I wonder if there are rust monsters who only eat organic rust? #firstworldrustmonsterproblems
  19. Love the winter theme and practical clothes.
  20. I'm really sorry to hear the CROM KS got canceled. Those minis were beautiful, and I'd have liked to see that game come to fruition. That said, I'm really excited to hear I might be able to get some of that beautiful terrain in BONES. Terrain pieces probably excite me more than they do other people, and that stuff looks great. I hope some of it shows up!
