    Anime Classics

hmmm, A Wu Tang Clan fighting game, could evolve from a system simular to Warlord. Hey, Red, you got your thing down when it comes to martial arts; I got some family who knows them personally, went to school with them in Staten Island. I could get them to attribute a certain style, or whatever style they really do, to that mini. They did pretty good with the playstation game. (I always liked using Ghostface Killer or Joe Budden) that would be pretty freakin' hot. but on the business side of things, something like that could get people who wouldn't normally be interested in minis, to look at some of the fantasy and Sci Fi stuff in a new light.

Yeah, thats pretty freakin cool. (minus the music) Starblazers Fleet Battles I figured there would be something out like that. there goes another bookmark.

Yeah, like a build it yourself type deal. you can almost do that already with CAV, but a product line of just spare parts would be sweet. Not like the Reaper bone yard, just parts that don't necessarily go to any type of unit. yeah, I would kill for that too, especially if its a whole truckload of alternate weapons for the existing stuff too.

And hey, bear with me here imagine the blowout, with WWE minis, (and complimentary game to go with it) well, its a thought anyway.

Or who wouldn't want to have their dwarven Forge dungeons populated by a pack of Rob Zombies

Hey, lets take this up another notch. How much are you willing to pay for a set of minis if they were perhaps one of your favorite performers. For me, its Hip Hop. I'de get a kick out of buying a Wu Tang Clan set of minis; I'm sure a martial arts fighting game could evolve from that. but I would get a kick of out buying a set of Metallica or KISS Minis too.

Hmmmm I don't know the ins and outs of the mini business, but I do know what I'm willing to spend my money on. I went on a reminscant bliss just thinking about "the good ole days" of saturday morning cartoons, kung fu theater and what not. I'm just remembering stuff like Star Blazers, Astro Boy, Battle of the Planets, Voltron and Speed Racer. Wouldn't it be neat if I could find some minis or even resin cast kits of this stuff. It's already a chore to get the stuff from Japan as it is, (hell, many of their kits, they only produce once a year.) I know the demand is there, considering these kits sell like hot cakes, and I even think there is a Star Blazers "Fleet Battle" game, but never any minis. Assuming Reaper could secure the rights, would an "Anime Classics" line of minis be unreasonable. Hell, even some product devolopment of a few games based on this "type of line" would ROCK IMMENSELY. Imagine Voltron tearing the hell out of some robeast, (damage track) or even create one of the Voltron variants. Or hell, can you you beat the Mark 5 (that Speed Racer car) in a series of fever races. imagine the minis associated with Battle of the Planets; Gatchaman hacking the h*ll out of those gay looking alien dudes. I know I would spend some dough for that, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.
  8. Air support is kind of a hard thing to ignore. looking at the Vigilence closer, I saw what looked like one of the Black Tiger Squadron fighters from Starblazers. or maybe I'm confusing it for a Valkrie but please tell me, I can get a 1/144 scale Black Tiger, oh please do. that is one bad boy, I will get in droves. even for CAV. (look out !) Although I don't remember if the marines got this thing to fly right, the VH Osprey is pretty neat. I think in 1/144 scale, 2 of those should suffice; now if I can find the model.
  9. Hey thanks Erion. starting the 19th, I'll be in Harrisburg every monday to attend a seminar on HVAC layouts. point being, I'll be in the nieghborhood more, so I'll drop in to the Adventure Guild to see whats new. (won't be enough time to game though) anyway, tell me more about the Helicopters. I could use them with the infantry paratroopers, but I have never seen any models for them. that landship is incredible; something like that would make a hellified HQ for Serpentine Fire, but it'll be a while before I build something like that.
  10. let me know what you come up with, that sounds like something i'de be interested in

    SOC

Yes, technically you should be able to go prone and fire in the same turn. there should more than enough power to do so. Currently the ability to go prone diminishes as the SOC takes damage, it costs more in movement points after 1 DT of damage. I can "set" this number for ease, I'm still undecided on that. .................................. I remember reading up on another post about the official word on EMP weapons, and I'm probably going to take the TAK Sinopa to the revision board to switch up the rotary EMP launcher. I think we can do this here too, as well as finalize the stats for the Notaku and Petah. The TAK Sinopa IFM weapon is going to be replaced by another weapon on the Tolucan Registry, the Slagger. it'll fire a canister of Nanotech ooze that'll rewrite the repair systems of a targeted CAV to do some crazy elf. we used it a few times in the Tolucan Deathmatches, pretty funky stuff. the Apukeena is going to be "normaled" out, being that most "TAK Enterprise" CAVs have something unique about them to bring to the battlefield. the Apukeena however is still going to bring that long range offensive power like its earlier versions though. this one will be the A3 Sniper. the Notaku is something more like a baby Ogre, so that one was always "normal". the Petah is crazy, we talked about it before. the bird looking thing that converts to a turret with the deadly rump. I think that should stick around for the sheer comedic value,of getting slammed by an ankle biter that really farts at you. With your help, we'll have 6 custom mecha that'll pop up from time to time in this campaign and raise hell.
  12. count me in, if you can. I'm not BL anymore though; but I've been itching to get at this for quite a while.
  13. OK, I see what you and Erion are getting at. OK for now, I'll keep the focus on the recon Cadre as paratroopers. make them function like a 3 man team, while the other two would be a stealth equipped Sniper team, also paratroopers. OK, with that in mind. my 3 man team would have a more offensive capacity, like commandos, with one heavier unit as some kind of fire support for them. Ideally, they could be split into two teams, but I would rather have them as one Cadre with the ability to task out. OK, Strike Cadre stays on the ground with the rest of the unit. If air travel is limited, paratroopers would probably be peicemeal at best. What about infantry, is it possible to have some airborne infantry to compliment the Recon? maybe two escoudes.
  14. OK, so a Southern Republican unit isn't too far of a stretch if I plan to have a task force of "Delta Operatives". I could go the highly mobile route, and figure a way to make paratroopers of the two Strike Cadre. How hard of a conversion is that, or is that possible? basically I have the Strike Cadre on order, so its pretty much set, so I want to see what I can do with them. If the highly mobile route is feasable, How would I transport a pair of Visogoths and Huns? how about the Caiman APCs? obviously, they would need some kind of air support, how is that handled. Ultimately, I tend to go for the self contained fighting force, as you can see with how the final organization of Lone Wolf Company is put together; 3 Tomahawks and a 4th for dropship support. Now, I probably won't go to the same extent with HG, put for certain, I would want what I have planned now to "hold its own" if the need be.

    SOC

Hey Red I did get a chance to mess around with it last night and I'm thinking the vertical climb may be a bit much for a 4 second turn. Currently, an undamaged SOC can climb 6 levels in one turn. I think that could be reduced a bit, so an undamaged SOC could climb four levels in 4 seconds. what do you think? Crawl seems to work pretty good, 8 inches in one turn. I was happy with that. I'm wondering if we could use a set number to switch from a standing to prone position? it would be easier to manage, as opposed to tracking the ability on a damage chart. The real test was finding the right number to allow a switch to prone and firing of a weapon if its already drawn. I think we're there with it, but I'm thinking that a set number may help to keep the thing in some action after it takes a hit. Wife still doesn't like these things, but she had to admit, the 5DT version I'm working on is a certified monster Think Jesse Ventura with a mini gun in Predator.
  16. hmmm, I do like the idea of a stealthy Cadre, but if thats too expensive then I'll figure something. Of course, I could make them a detachment or task force of sort. I'm thinking the "lightness" of the gears could be compensated by the technology. Ultimitely, the paratroopers plus stealth reminds me of some kind of Delta operation, where I can send this cadre behind enemy lines to shake and stir things up before the main invasion force gets there. most likely, a unit like this would be operating on its own. So whats the difference between the Southern Republic and Southern Milicia? If thats the course I need to take for this unit, I'll consider it. Just bear in mind, Serpentine Fire is a tough name to live up to
  17. I think I'm cool with the Recon stealth paratroopers, I'm even debating if I should go with 2 Snake Eye snipers, with another two iguana for observers. and a Jager paratrooper as a command unit, armed to the teeth. The Strike Cadre, I think are fine. as planned. I'm comfortable with the Naga, armor and mechanized infantry. maybe more infantry could be added later. Overall, this organization seems solid enough, everything seems to work with everything else, so once I actually get the book, I'll see where I want the details to go.
  18. Hmm, OK But for certain my Recon would benifit from stealth, so I'll probably go with that. trade out a gear for a Snake Eye 'sniper " variant paratrooper.

    Mecha miniatures?

I sent the data, go ahead and give a look see. Our SOC thread is where we were banging the concept together. Thanks JBR!
  20. So whats to prevent me from making the whole operational force stealth; it is after all a specialist unit?
  21. Snipers huh? now I know i'm going to enjoy this. How about a sniper Iguana or Jager paratrooper for my recon squad?
  22. KAMUT

    Mecha miniatures?

hell, if you do decide to go with that let me know; easpecially if its N scale. it's tough finding good futuristic stuff in N scale as it is. It would be nice to have a proffesional concept of our little project we got going on; maybe I can send you the stats.

    SOC

Lets see what happens first as is, compare notes, then try the next option of just associating ACA/DCA with the drawing of the knife, or a flat ACA score. also try the parrying option, I think we should explore that possibility if the current knife attack justifies itself. that might be the deal sealer right there, and close the gap of that close combat "abstractedness" a bit.
  24. KAMUT

    Mecha miniatures?

yeah, that looks freakin' sweet. why wouldn't Reaper want that for a CAV? I know I would pick up a few of them.
  25. Yeah, Red once the Strike Cadre come in, that'll probably be the next "aquisition". this week is a little rough, I actually have 8 blisters of Naginatas coming in, so there goes my allotment for this week. the variants would be nice, especially where the Naga's are concerned. So I can tailor them for urban combat. I might switch up at least one gear from each strike Cadre with something from the fire support types, only I'm not too sure at the moment what that may be. Something with a heavier/long range weapon beyond the typical strike cadre. I would use this in the same capacity as a SAW gunner is used in a fire team. at the moment only two Southern Militia tanks are available model wise; they look OK, I guess but I like something with a lower target profile and "modern look", sort of how the Abrams or Leopard was designed. either way, I'll probably get 2 of each to fill my armor requirements, though I 'm not sure of the abilities of either, so that might change.
