finding a job shouldn't be this hard

And the flood gates open... I have a BS in Theatre and a certificate to teach Theatre and English Language Arts and Reading. I got those in 2004 and 2005. I had one high school that I interviewed with the Principal, he said he really like me and my ideas. He introduced me to the Vice Principal and said he wanted to do a second interview with her and he would call me Monday to set up the time (It was Thursday). I didn't hear back from the school that whole next week. I called the following Monday and left a message with the secretary because she had no clue what was going on. She calls me back an hour later to tell me the position has been filled! I tell myself, "Fine, if they can't call me back and lie to me like that, I don't want to work for that school anyways." I had an interview set up this year at a school for an English Position. They call me the day before to ask if I speak Spanish. I say no, my degree is in English. (nowhere on my application did I ever say I spoke spanish, because I don't, I suck at learning foreign languages) So they dropped me for that interview because they had already hired the two non-spanish speaking English Positions. So I feel your pain. I tried to get a job at a couple of bookstores during the school year because the hiring time for a teaching job is small and we needed for me to have a job. I didn't get either of those because I had a college degree. I couldn't win. So yeah, I really feel your pain. But you got to keep trying, maybe take an adventure and move to another location. Good Luck!! -
Minis we would like to see (fantasy version),
mysticeyes42 replied to ladystorm's topic in Reaper General & Faq's
My group is always playing sci-fi roleplaying games and find good figs for that is hard. I just want normal people that could be a modern day person. Of course my character is a half machine/half human doctor, but I don't expect for you to go that far. I know you have a new sci-fi game coming out though. Will they all be in jumpsuits or combat suits? -
Thank you for all the kind words. Now I just have to break the news to my parents. Funny how it's easier to tell the Reaper forum that we are expecting then my parents. But I guess deep down I know you won't give us a hard time about how much it's going to cost.

Well, my husband, Sirikus, helped to get it started but now I guess I have to finish it! hehe The picture was taken at the doctor's office at 7 weeks 5 days. We even got to hear the heat beat. Major shock for us! We are due January 20th. Has soon as we saw the baby on the screen we feel in love. The head is on the left. The baby has arm buds, but no feet yet.

My name is Erika (sirikus' wife). I have been painting on and off (mostly off, I have too many hobbies) for about 4 years. Wow I haven't really improved since my first mini. I have only painted about 10-15 minis since I started. It's all my husbands fault as to why I paint; but I love it. My husband was correct in his description of me. I will chat with random people; I'm an extrovert, he's an introvert; yet can type more about himself than I can about myself (hmm) Okay, I'm good at talking about nothing in particular and he can talk up a storm about minis, gaming, and the quality of our local game stores. This will be our 3rd ReaperCon (been there from the beginning!) That is all.

Yeah, we had those invading my house when I lived with my mom in Denison. They're cute until they start jumping towards you!! I didn't know spiders could jump until this spider. I did however get to take one I caught to school for extra credit in Biology.

That sounds like an awesome wedding. My husband and I are coming up on 3 years. Our wedding day was one of the best days of my life. Don't forget to eat, We did! Congratulations

Thanks for the Birthday wishes! I spent my b-day with family and friends and playing an Alternity game that my husband is GMing and my closest friends are participating in. I am now a quarter of a century old. Jester, quitting is great, but hard. Just don't give in if you have set backs. I quit for my husband and our health. You can quit for your kids and wife.

Nienna-fall mini exchange for mysticeyes42
mysticeyes42 replied to cutebutpsycho's topic in Show Off: Painting
I love my mini. It is on my shelf of honor. If you think the pictures are good(which they are), you should see it in real life, it's way better. Thanks again for the great mini. -
This is Chloe, she is one tuff GM. You can't get away with anything.

This is Luna

Here are mine and Sirikus' two cats.

Wow, great paint job, he's really ugly. I like the skin tones. I don't think I could ever paint this min because I like my mini's to be pretty. HEHE

What colors did you use on the hair of the hyena? I am working on a hell hound and I like the color scheme.

I think that they are great, but then again, I'm biased.
