Reaper does have some of these in metal (though the platypus is not dire nor is the bear dropping):

Yes I have the platy/familiars pack there but I need a dire sized one to show off its ferociousness, a dire komodo would be handy as well.  and yes we need a drop bear in attack position

  2. I still am hoping for Dire versions of Australia cute critters.  I need Dire Platypus, Drop Bears, Roos and echninas .... for reasons.

Also I need help people. I have decided I wanted to do a Reaper Miniatures costume for DragonCon. Ive got 3 days to figure out a proper costume. Im thinking a Grim Reaper with minis hanging off the scythe but not sure what else I should do, what would a grim reaper of minis look like -thoughts?

There is one thing I am still confused. So, if I lock in my add on's and calculate shipping now, then after the KS closes and we still have access to the pledge manager to buy/pay for add-on's (which I understand has to be the paid in full for items such as if I finally decide to buy a core set) will shipping be recalculated or just calculated on the new items?

If its like the other times Ive used pledge manager, it works like this.  You go into pledge manager to lock in your order and shipping is calculated at that time. (for ex. $100 core set +$6 shipping-you pay the pledge manager)

But lets say in a few months you decide you need doubles of a particular add on and pledge manager is still open. (you go in and edit your order, and change it to be $100 core set +$18 paints and $24 (2 sets of trolls)  with shipping now being $8.) pledge manager automatically deducts the funds you have already paid and you just have to pay the difference in cost. ($150 -$106 meaning you would be required to pay $44).

    Core Set Break Up

we typically do not break the Core Set into sub-components until much later in the project, when it is much larger. When we do that, any backer will be able to select those components.

    Thanks Reaperbryan,

That was a question I had, (i need extra greybeard with the dragon on the shoulder!)

Question, any chance of  Dire sized versions of Australian wildlife for this kickstarter?

I need a set of large 'drop bears' aka koalas and dire platypus's for .... reasons.

Any chance of more saber tooth critters?

Also, I will be going to GenCon, and DragonCon (which starts the Thurs before the ks ends)  is there a flyer image with a QR code, and/or the kickstarter link that I can print out so people can scan it and join in the Reaper madness? (just something that I can laminate and have as another badge would be great-if that is possible?)

Thanks again for all the hard work you guys do to make this fun!

SIde note: On the FB pages and in chats Ive been in, there are alot of us who are looking forward to more of the ks comic! (heck if it was available afterwards that'd be cool too.)

Any chance of another holiday paint set?

I was thinking of one that has Valentine's, St Patrick's colors?

there are the colors for chocolates, and all types of reds and pins,

Then the gold, black and green's, and white froths, and the honey browns of beers for St. Patrick's

That's a fun idea, but don't expect any more special paint sets anytime soon. Our paint department is up to their eyeballs in work for the foreseeable future.  ::):

Gotcha. No worries. I forgot that convention season will be starting up.

But whats the best brown combo to make a chocolate?

  6. Ah! Just realized that I ordered paint on the Winter Fairy day! Aren't fey known to be tricksters? With so many holiday minis in failing blister packs she might escape and turn on the other contents in the box. My paints have no hope. Should've ordered a fire elemental to keep everything warm.

Unless she is sucking out the cold to keep herself properly chilled so the paints have a decent chance.

  7. Got both orders today. Everything looks good. The reindeer was bouncing around the bottom of the box. I found the plastic bubble but not the backer card. I guess I'm glad the important parts made it into the box at least.  There was also a nice Reapercon pen with each order.  Happy painting everyone!

Ive an order arriving today, here's hoping that there is a pen in my box. (Sadly my Reaper Pen from the con decided to leak :( after I returned.)

I completely understand Reaper choosing to ship via the cheapest method when footing the bill. I'm curious, however, who delivers when UPS picks up the tracking and who "holds" the package when I'm away. Because while USPS is great about holding my mail, UPS says that they'll only hold packages for 7 days before returning them to the sender. Which would suck for both me and Reaper. My vacation is just around 7 days, and my last order has a LTPK full of paints, so I need to decide whether I risk UPS returning my package or whether I ask a neighbor/friend to babysit any stray packages. Because several days on my doorstep would definitely ruin those paints.

UPS has been doing alot of handoffs to the USPS to do final delivery. -check on the tracking and see if its Smartpost.

  9. Quick question guys, Im out of the habit of painting the metal minis-Ive been busy painting Bones figures.

Do I need to put on a sealer Before I put on a primer?

Also, to the Reaper folks, what do you do the day after the 12 days of Reaper? -Mass catchup on sleep, an after party, a mass painting?

I said this in an email but I also wanted to say it here that we all really really appreciate how cool you make the 12 days of Reaper and how you guys are so quick to send out the items.

It means alot to all of us!

    Reflections:

    • For my first ReaperCon, I had a blast!
    • Regarding the venue, I agree on the issues of sound/noise level, also gaming needs more space.
    • During the active gaming it became hard to hear our GM, or manuever between the spaces.
    • Two of my classes it was hard to hear our teacher between the noise from the gaming, vendors and other classrooms.
    • (Some insulation foam on the walls of the classrooms may help there.)
    • Also the PA system was very good if you were in front of the area, Reaper store or contest area,or in the open paint tables. but if you were in the vendor or gaming section, it became indistinct noise.
    • I think it would just take 1 or 2 more speakers being put in a different direction would help.
    • The ladies running the Reaper store deserve a medal for all the questions, assistance and customer service they provided over the weekend, especially when there were those of us Noobs asking lots of questions or needing lots of help.
    • MSP Open paints was handy to help finish my art entry.

    Suggestions for next year:

    • ...snip...
    • Move the art entry contest submission end time be half hour after the last class Friday. (This way people can apply info they learn during their classes to their entry. :)
    • ...snip...

I'll speak to this point as a member of the MSP Open Crew (Assistant Director as it were, Michael is the Director). Experience has taught us that 5pm is the latest time we can accept entries. Judging sheets have to be prepared and all the entries must be on those sheets (fair warning don't come over and talk to Debbie while she is doing this), Debbie, Mengu, Mona and I spent our dinner time working on creating the sheets.  The judging teams (there were 4 this year) are handed out their assignments and given last minute instructions. Judging took approximately three hours and we started right after dinner. Once the judges have hand recorded their scores those scores have to be entered into the system to calculate the medals. While we try to give each team approximately the same number of entries to judge some teams do take longer than others which mean the entry of scores can take a long time. We (well Debbie and Mengu) finished entering the scores at 1am Saturday morning. So sorry, extending the deadline is just not going to happen. In fact just this year I told one of the artists (okay I told Michael to do it, but to be fair he said yes, and I vetoed him after the fact) that I would not except their entry after 5pm either.

I suppose if some one was to cough up the funds for tablets and software we could shorten the scoring process considerably.

Ah.. that explains it, I heard that there was an issue with a FireFox update messing up the printing process. Thanks again for all of your hardwork

    Suggestions for next year:

    • Maybe have some brush kits for people who might be participating in classes for the 1st time?
    • Gaming- could we have some figure kits for monsters we might encounter in the DnD games that are part of the official ReaperCon game scenario? (grumpkins, hag'o'lanterns...). Maybe a check list so we can pre-order any that we want to help paint?
    • Also could you have a few classes that were only available for signing up at the event?  This would be useful for people who do not know what classes to take until they arrive or dont join soon enough to get into the classes online (I was got lucky Reaper Brian told me about some new class slots while in line for dinner Thurs and I was able to do Friday classes -thanks Reaper Bryan!)
    • On the website, maybe add a  1st timer's guide of Tips and Tricks for ReaperCon. (Including parts about the importance of Reaper shirts, and costumes for Reaper bucks, how the art contest is really against yourself, badge ribbons, etc!)
    • A photo and name guide of the main people running ReaperCon that year. (Sorry again Reaper Ron!)
    • Move the art entry contest submission end time be half hour after the last class Friday. (This way people can apply info they learn during their classes to their entry. :)
    • Maybe have some classes occur twice but on different days?
    • Maybe move the gaming to be closer to concessions area. –Gaming always requires drinks and snacks :)
    • Any chance that we could pre-purchase Reaper hats?

Im arriving at LoveField Weds night at 825PM -is anyone else arriving around that time who I can carpool or share a Lyft ride to the Meet n Greet?

Just FYI. Between disembarking the plane, grabbing luggage, and getting a ride, you will be at the M&G at 9:30ish. I'm not sure it will even still be going on by then.
Also if you are bypassing your hotel to get to the meet and greet, call then and let them know you are checking in late. Some hotels will give away your room if you don't check in by a certain time unless you let them know ahead of time.
She's a secondary name on the room for this exact occasion. I already did primary check-in.

Ok,,so a ride to the Hilton it sounds like. -anyone else arriving at Lovefield?
