  1. I would play using #2. Simply because it seems the be more player friendly. I'm not big on a model losing all of it's actions because a player misspoke. Why should the performance of your army hinge on how you phrase a sentence? When it comes to things that modify a roll, or add/subtract the number of rolls you get, I see more issue. With Swift Attack you only get one attack; before you roll any dice you should tell me if you intend to roll a single attack for each model with intention to make use of swift attack or if you're going to roll all of their attacks. More than anything it boils down to simple player etiquette. Try to announce what you're doing as much as possible. Be reasonable with each other, if your opponent declares something silly then allow them to reconsider the declaration. Try not to alter your declarations once you have dice in your hand.
  2. Some cool strategies came from a game I watched Sunday in the Storm the Castle scenario. Chain Lightning: Target the closed door and it can hit the people on the other side. Teleport can get be huge in getting someone into the throne room.
  3. The storm the castle scenario looks crazy. Can't wait to see that in action.
  4. I keep seeing a lot of armies that try to take mass solos with DR/2. Has anyone seen how they play on the field? I'm just anxious to see a battle report.
  5. Tim, I will be at origins on the day of the tournament, but I won't be playing. I'm more than willing to help you out with anything you'll need though.
  6. This was posted on the Warlord General forum months ago:Public Beta for Savage North There is an expansion book coming out for Warlord 2.0 called Savage North. The Beta is over now though.
  7. That's unfortunate that you've had a run of bad luck. I've been buying them for years and only had about 3 with a missing parts. Try buying doubles of all your miniatures so that you'll always be able to assemble one
  8. I recommend just searching the Gallery. Reaper's search tool is amazing at turning up just what you need! Here is the best Druid in their line, Elven Male: 03294: Tobias Winterhorn, Druid Some Females: 03094: Maralise Moonscythe, Druid 14366: Dehanis Twinleaf, Elf Druid 03492: Autumn Bronzeleaf, Female Elf Wizard
  9. I hope the new Dark Reach models are included in this release. I want to get started painting this army
  10. Haven't played Reptus in awhile, so I thought I would knock the dust off them and crack some skulls at the FLGS. Reptus - 999 points Troop 1 Broodmaster, Dragon Rider Brood of Payanak x 2 Troop 2 Uru, River Troll Chief Armor of Courage T'Kay, Reptus Cleric River Troll x 3 Troop 3 Gam-Nan, Gaan-Hor Elder Gaan-Hor Warrior x 3 Troop 4 Nakaraat, Hydra This is my, "I want to play with all the big, cool, nasty stuff", list.
  11. Another question: As Reaper keeps releasing miniature's for their upcoming factions, will they have data cards released by Origins or Gen Con? Would those data cards be valid for the tournaments for either Con?
  12. Despite everyone going to the jugular about painted armies, is anyone else happy as hell that there is a topic with more than 3 posts in it on the Warlord Forum! I always feel like people only paint their miniatures so they can fudge distances. "Oh I would be in b2b contact, but that miniature is painted and I don't want to damage it." Pfft. :)
  13. Thoth is on a standard 1" base. If you go to Reaper Games and check out the army builder, or any of their stat cards from the books, it should have their base size in the top right corner. http://www.reapergames.com/warlord_ArmyCreator.php
  14. I would hardly say that you have a year to paint your army. The scenario's come out 2 weeks ahead of time and I'm sure that I'm not the only one that bought figures at Reaper Con that I wanted to put into my army at the last minute. I think it's unfortunate that you would require a painted army at your events Doug, just because you are closing the door on people that may be new to game, can't afford the paints, or just don't like that part of the hobby. I think the only reason people are disagreeing with your points is because your rules would ban them from your events; which I think we can all agree would suck. One thing I have gotten from this debate, I will try to pair painted armies with other painted armies in tournaments. It seems that if you can paint you enjoy facing other painted armies, perhaps more so than the bare metal.
  15. So many good quotes. So few of them are appropriate outside of Bee Keepers. :) "Oh yeah, it doesn't make any sense that half naked barbarians can run faster than heavy armor wearing dwarves" - Gus shortly before showing us how both races would would charge in snow
  16. I love putting the minis together and modding them. I love playing the game, building lists, and coming up with odd combination of strategy to use on the table. I love fielding and playing against painted miniatures. I hate painting them. It takes me forever to paint a single model and I'm hardly ever in the mood to actually do it. If any tournament ever required a painted army to play, I would have to pass. The tournaments that offer rewards for painted armies or best painted miniature usually get me motivated enough to paint a troop or a monster usually.
  17. My Darkspawn Army from the tournament: $191.84 Troop 1 Witch Queen D'Khul, Bathalian Broken Fodder x 8 Crescent of Bile Troop 2 Guros, Baron of Whips Incubus/Succubus Warrior x 4 Troop 3 Bathalian Primarch Goatman Demon x 4 Isiri Arachnid Archer Thuusia, Pain Mage Book of Tactics Troop 4 Rauthuros Although they didn't do so well, it's still a fun army to play. MMmmmm spells.
  18. Gus has a thread out here somewhere about getting into the Beta, I'll try to find you a link. You might just have to send him a message.
  19. You might get a peek of it at Reaper Con...I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'... RR ReaperCon just got very... very... sweet.
  20. I'm excited to read it. I've been pouring over the old rule books for nuggets of lore. This will be a refreshing change of pace to quench my thirst for Warlord.
  21. The prisoner exchange scenario has me sweating bullets since I was planning on bringing a Mage Warlord. That could be a very fast paced game...
  22. Never again. Please oh please don't do it. Give me the 3 simple rules during tournament play over trying to figure out what model's stats changed ANY day. The Scenarios look sweet. I can't wait to show everyone in Texas how Warlord is handled in Ohio.
  23. If you know some people that would be great. Tell them to contact me at [email protected] We could make use of the horse model, email it to me if you can. Any idea how many polys it is? Here is another preview of something we're working on:
  24. I know the chances of finding someone that is knowledgable in 3d model sculpting, texturing or animating is slim; but I really want to make sure the fans of Reaper have a chance to work on something they like. Let me know if you know some one that may be interested. Our needed poly count has been raised also. If you want details PM me, email me at [email protected], or leave a post here.
