  1. Thursday is actually the first day of the con, did you mean to come in on Wednesday? Yes I did mean to come in on Wednesday. I don't want to miss anything and weather out of Illinois is fickle. I also have friends in DFW area who are not going to the con that I want to visit.

  3. I haven't made my flight reservation yet but I think I can piggyback on that!
  4. Hello! I'm going to be needing transportation to and from the airport before and after the Con as well! Has anyone looked into getting a shuttle? I know there are group rates. I'm getting in the Thursday before the Con and leaving the Monday after. I haven't made my plane reservation yet because I wanted to see what times would be best.
  5. Willwen what brand did you use? Were the pastels you used Artist quality? Cheap pastels will give you that textured grit. Also I was barely scraping that pastel stick in my video. You want the finest powder you can get.
  6. Other fixatives you can use are Vallejo (nice because it's non-toxic) and Citadel Purity Seal (watch your humidity with this one) Use cheaper stiff brushes for Pastels. Definitely don't use your good ones. SOFT only and make sure they are ARTIST quality so you get the highest pigmentation and least amount of grit. You might want to wear a dust mask. And definitely wear a mask that is NIOSH approved for when you spray fixative.
  7. I did it! Some folks asked me to tell them how to use soft pastels for miniatures and I did one better and made my very first video tutorial! Let me know what you think!! ( I also posted this on the Reaper Facebook Group so some of you may have seen it already.)
  8. I'm cool with that. If you post them online send me a message so I can see them!
  9. Thank you!! I took Color Theory in college. It was probably one of the most invaluable classes I've ever taken.
  10. Thanks so much guys for the feedback on my Knoll's fur! I've always pictured them to be Hyenalike. :D
  11. I definitely want to see more of his work!! Thanks for telling me this! I'll check it out right away!
  12. Thank you Kharsin! Well I have been painting mini's as a side hobby while being a Fine Artist Watercolorist professionally. I had considered going pro back in 2007 but decided I didn't want to burn out on something I loved because it was a "job". Now I'm starting to switch gears and working more seriously on the mini's and putting my watercolors on the backburner for a while. I've decided to take the year to amp up my skills as far as I can go and then try entering some competitions and see what happens. It would be really nice to be able to paint mini's professionally and I feel like it's not too far from my future.
  13. Awesome! I really like his work. The Mind Your Manors mini's were my favorite in the Kickstarter!
  14. Of all the Reaper Bones figures my favorite set was Mind Your Manors. I'd love to know why it was titled that. Anyhow here is the Knoll from the trio.
