  1. Well here is my completed Guts from the Berserk Anime and Manga. I used 02962: Killian, Bounty Hunter Not perfect, but I'm pretty happy with the results. If you like to see how I got there, here is my works in progress posts, which lists the things I mainly tried to do but failed, but I may attempt this again and better at a later date. It was quite the learning experience.
  2. Well it's done, I alway have issues with skin tones, and he ended up with kind of a dirty look, but overall I'm pretty happy with the results And for those concerned with the weight and balance, he actually stands pretty well, used a wide base just be be save, but it stands pretty well altogether.
  3. Well my attempts to make the movable cannon arm did not work. I just didn't have all the tools or materials I'll need to make it happen, but I will probably re-visit the idea later. So i started some updated work on a few things to move forward. First, I added a chain link to the sword, that ring is how he hangs it to his back, his harness is just a simple hook for that. Then I started out just painting him in a basic way. He is a pretty dark figure, so I had to dull the metal paints with a black wash to give them a darker tone. I liked the effect it gave. H
  4. No pics to update this time, but several failures occurred, but they have led to some better ideas, and it's nothing that can't be salvaged at this point, so back to the drawing board, some new ideas will come through, and we shall press on.
  5. Ok, now that I have my figure I was looking for, the winning figure was 02962: Killian, Bounty Hunter. None of them were perfect, but I knew that going into the project. First thing is first, I had to replace his left arm. Guts as a character has an Iron arm, so I need to cut and change that, and maybe separate the crossbow for use later. Luckily, my old darkworld board game had a willing volunteer. The skeletal hand when painted metallic should give the mechanical look I'm going for. Now with a little work, his hand has to detach, because his arm conceals a cannon. There
  6. Since I got a pretty good response from the figure I made of Frog from Chrono Trigger and from my Fullmetal Alchemist modified figures, I went on to my next challenge. I want to make a decent figure for Guts, the main character from the Berserk Manga and Anime. Now anyone who is a fan knows that finding an actual mini of him can be difficult, and I'm gonna use it for my next D&D character, so I wanted something special for it. Now I ordered 4 different reaper mini's as candidates, not sure which I'll use yet, as each has something to offer, but none are perfect. Probably will end up a
  7. Yea, I never found anything for Frog that worked for me. So I figured I'd just have to do it myself. I enjoy the challenge of modifying it. Just need the right figure to start.
  8. This is a personal favorite I did. Started with figure P02467A: Gnoll: with axe, and turned him into one of my favorite characters from my old D and D days, Kabal Bloodcleaver. His blade is El-Ravagers Hackmaster, and I couldn't find one big enought to match it's might, so It's actually a dollhouse prop I found online and used for this purpose. In game terms, is a +12, 1D100 dmg weapon, and only the Mighty Kabal is worthy to wield it.
  9. Thanks, Using that story it became quite the campaign. A lot of unique twists and turns too. It definitely took on a life of it's own, and while staying true to it's source story, became an entirely unique experience as it went on. A tribute to the great players we had and their unique characters.
  10. Thank you all. I did actually buy 4 figurines for this, to play with each one and see what I liked. In the end, I didn't like the Halfling figures because this one had the gloves and boots that just worked perfectly. Ironically in game, we actually played a backstory for Glenn that included his childhood, so I used it for that lol.
  11. I ran a Dungeons and Dragons Campaign based on the Fullmetal Alchemist Manga and Anime. Using reaper figurines, I tried to customize things to make the characters true. In my adventure I changed his name to Wilbur, but fans of the series will recognize Selim Bradley. Just used a village boy I found that the Undead Mound when painted properly gave the right effect to show how sinister he could be. Then I bough all the tentacles Reaper offers to make his tendrils. Most were too thin to try and put eyes on, but as a game mechanic, they worked great. Had to include en
  12. Using Ardellen as a base, A little clay for a head, and just some paint, I made Frog as a character. Now I made a character based upon him in Dungeons and Dragons, and was frustrated in finding a real figure to match him. This came out pretty well I think. I've really enjoyed taking figures outside of what they were designed for and making something unique.
