    Getting To Know You — May 2019

    As a rule, my cats are very good at cheering me up. Furry idiots, maybe, but being woken up by a kitten determined to wash my face is amusing. Painful at the time. But amusing in retrospect. ^^;

    Book inventory apps/software

    I'm using My Library. It works, more or less. I'm open to other options.

    .... You don't get pictures; largely because I don't have any, and the table isn't clear enough for me to take any. ;p Our gaming space is what I suspect was intended as a dining room. We have bookshelves on two walls; full of miniatures and gaming books/materials. The actual table is a couple of folding tables clamped together, with a pair of grid maps flung overtop of them. It is presently kinda messy.

    ... This, mostly. Or listen to music. Since I work at home, there's nobody to complain if I also sing. >.>

    Anything's possible. Probable? Who knows. But it's fun to make up stories about what might have been, or might be, so I don't think Atlantis is ever going away, whether it existed or not, whether it's ever found or not.

    Uh... I don't really have a favorite. Although if there's a giant statue of a dragon somewhere, that's probably a favorite. ^^; At home ... all my dragons. ^^;

    Aeon Trespass: Eschaton

    My box of goodies also arrived; I did a quick inventory, and squee'd a bit. Sized-up Solitude is /gorgeous/.

    Hrrrmh... Daemons are pretty weird; used a few of those as antagonists. There was this whole incident with a giant walking TARDIS... and a star ooze in the basement of said TARDIS. We have not had reason to involve flumphs, as yet.

    Never had pizza with white sauce.

    Going to have to go with the classic X-wing; although there were a handful of other ships that were pretty nifty (I also, for example, like the B-Wings). ... The Sith seriously need to take some time to reassess their goals. There's some good ideas in there, but the crazy has seriously taken over. :/ This is fixable, but not if they keep on like this.
  11. ... apparently, I have acquired baby platies. The adults must be pretty happy. >.>

    Unpainted Minis from Wizkids

    I initially read that last line as 'that stinks in my head' - and ... eugh. That said, I need to remember that specific horrible trick; it's not as if flinging filth and rotten carcasses is limited to siege engines... .

    Randomness XV: 'tis a silly place.

    They do. They're... expensive. :/ I've had decent luck with cheap synthetics, but acetone (cleaning the polish out) destroys them /fast/. Trade offs?

    Soo .. from an old fascination with soft-material airplanes, I'm going to name the P-38 Lightning as my favorite. I'm not even sure you can get those old kits anymore, but I used to love them, and I flew a number of them to their untimely ends. I have a few honourable mentions (I think those kits did include a Spitfire of some kind), but that's still my fav.

    If I have, it wasn't by that name.. I've had raw cow's milk; which I happen to think is yum. We currently get homogenized cow's milk, which is also yum. What I prefer ... is goat's milk. *shrug*

    Blacksting (Bones 4)

    I love him! That is really, really stunning.

    Mouse's Monumental Manic May Mini Mayhem

    That looks ... strikingly like Belle. Great start!

    Better idea; leave the dandelions alone, and if anybody complains, tell 'em you're helping to save an endangered species*. Either that, or you're fixing to make dandelion wine, and they need to leave your supplies alone! (dandelions are edible! Salad!) *There's talk of bees - honey bees, especially - being endangered. You get to ignore a 'weed', honeybees get food, everybody wins.

    Getting to Know You for April 2019

    Not really. I maybe used to, but I'm pretty sure it no longer exists except in my memory. I might adopt a new one, but haven't yet.

    Eberron Game! No Auld Grumpies Allowed!

    More like intrigue-ridden, demon-lord worshipping .. but other than that, yah. They lose a lot of the spider iconography, take a giant dollop of alchemical tomfoolery (driders are an arcane mashup of alchemy and flesh crafting in that setting! Whee!), and throw in some batcrap insanity for good measure, because why not. This is not helped by a small proportion of the population being cursed surface elves. Seriously, read Second Darkness. It's ... well, it is. (Some of Paizo's writers are good. Some of them really need their heads examined.. )

    Uh.. you .. you want me to pick ONE?! I can't. ;p I do like the Snake Charmer; she plays a mean bagpipe. Hunt down her variant on the GoT theme. ;p

    How Many Books is a Lot?

    Given that most of what Mr. Thorne and I read is science fiction or fantasy, I just arrange by author. Anthologies are tricky, but manageable. They are somewhat sorted; paperbacks and hardcovers (which makes for some fun when I have a series partially in paperback and partially in hardcover), with all the manga and graphic novels being completely separate. Then there are the gaming books, which have their own shelves.... It's not so complicated. Miniatures are a completely different kettle of stew. :/

    Artis Opus - Series D: Brush Set

    Either way, I have some I like, and I'm not paying a premium for.. for dry brushes, of all the things. Them refusing to clarify what kind of hair they use is just icing on that specific cake.
