  1. They own WhatsApp, but there's still Telegram, Discord, and a few others. I don't include Skype because that's a garbage can that's on fire - it's unstable, full of ads, and nowhere near as reliable as before Microsoft bought it out. Don't forget IRC is still, somehow going strong, and mIRC came out before AOL Instant Messenger was available outside of AOL's dialup ISP. Nowhere near as convenient as most instant messenger services though, since it's constantly using data. Trillian is still, somehow, functioning...?
  2. I have tea. I am awake. I think. Maybe. I might actually be dreaming. I'll let you know.
  3. Well. I want that. Okay, mostly for the dragon and the knight, but.. I want that.
  4. *considers most recent set of blood and bruises from putting a protective shield on the Bitey Hen* ... y'know, most of the time when I think of the human body as a canvas, I expect to see henna art, or tattoos. In other news, Topaz has successfully walked the wheel. The bribes are working! I still give him a couple weeks before I expect to see him use it without being bribed. Still.
  5. I technically backed this for access to the design doojamhickey; the miniature was a sort of side bonus. If it's good, great. If it's not, well. Eh. Either way, I don't have it yet, so ... Jury's out.
  6. Hey now. Quality Control needs to be thorough, or what even is the point?!
  7. Received and assembled a cat exercise wheel from One Fast Cat. Really easy to assemble, seems to function. ... Cats are dubious (expected). Topaz (rambunctious young cat) has been enticed to at least stand on it. I give him ... maybe a couple of weeks/a month before I catch him running on it. I figure once one of them figures it out, the others will follow suit, or not, as they like.
  8. I'm still working on mine.. but, got another chunk out from 'want' to 'ordered'. .. and added a bunch of the powerups to the 'want' list, because woofies are awesome. >.>
  9. I refuse to play that game. I don't have time for it, and I can't - I literally can't - hit every show, much as I'd like to, because they're fun, whether they're giving things away or not. I do have things that need to get done that don't let me participate in streams, especially when I am not sure when they are going to be. :/ Short version; you're not the only one frustrated. And I've mentioned the timezone thing a couple of times. >.<
  10. Send some of that snow this way. It's ninety degrees out there, and I don't know what demented whack job thought that was a good idea. *mutter* Gimme RAIN, damnit. Not this bright, shiny, hot crap that is impossible to work in.
  11. My dad's solution to that, way back in the day, was simply to take the tailgate off and replace it with one of those net things (provided he couldn't get his hands on a truck with a canopy, which was his preference). My Grendel has a tonneau cover, and I hate it. It helps the mileage, but it's a sodding pain in the donkey to actually use the bed for, y'know, hauling anything that might be somewhat off-size.
  12. Looks like a ship off the ol' dock to me.. >.> I don't know if I'm getting him. I'm kinda drooling on those werewolves, though; those are great.
  13. Uh... wow. That is not our usual experience with customer service. @Reaper_Jon ? You know anything about this?
  14. Pretty sure I've asked this before, but 6PM CST isn't much use to those of us different time zones. Please list .. I'unno, Eastern and Pacific? along with ReaperLocalTime? It would be super helpful.
  15. I was wondering that myself. I guess temporary forum banners are out of the question...?
  16. I'll miss seeing you guys in person. I'm sorry they had to cancel; I was looking forward to it, and all the shenanigans. ^^; I'mma get a VIP bag, for sure; at least I can do that.
  17. Not necessarily; remember, there was a Sports Event of some kind happening on the same weekend. Hotel was booked out entirely because of that. So, rooms coming available might not mean less Reapercon attendees. We were planning to drive. Not sure how that's going to work out, but.. eh. We'll see.
  18. Somebody's bees are having the best time in my apple trees.. they're literally buzzing with bees (and the odd hummingbird).
  19. Has been so far. I don't foresee that changing...
  20. Also, chocolate truffles - about three yolks. Just the yolks.... (I use the whites for Royal Icing, which... well, I don't make it often).
  21. I know a 2e GM, running a PbP game, who's looking for players, if you want to fix that. ;p Heck, if somebody wants to learn The Dark Eye, I know a GM who might have a space. Also PbP. ... turns out I know a lot of PbP GMs with spaces in their games. Eh.
  22. It may be essential, but how do you enforce distancing? How do you sterilize community tools? Friends of mine manage an inner city community garden and they had to do all the planting on a quarter acre lot themselves (they are in their 70's) because they cannot get a group together under current conditions. They can't have planning meetings. Most of the residents don't have internet or computers so they can't do email. And with one death on their street and another neighbor on a ventilator, honestly, working in the garden with a group is pretty much right out. Didn't say it wouldn't be tricky to do, or that there wouldn't be serious challenges. I expressed horror that community gardens aren't considered essential, and I stand by that, because quite frankly, at some point, the supply lines /will/ break down, and then what are people in cities going to do? As for how do you enforce... most likely, you can't. Or you can, but people have to be willing to follow the rules, and ... well. We know about that, sadly. I expect most gardeners to at least own their own gloves (because dog knows, a community garden is not going to be able to keep weird sizes, and I don't know about you, but .. MY GLOVES, dangit!). Tools... that might be another matter, I don't know. Me, personally.. my tools, dangit. But that's me, and I get tetchy about people (ab)using my tools. :/ Scheduling can be done on paper, or white board, tools can be wiped down. Communities with mailboxes might even drop a copy of said schedules in appropriate mailboxes. I'm throwing suggestions because .. .well, what else can I do? I'm looking at where/how I can do a little of my own gardening, and ... some of that is a bit lolwhut because the ground here is about 80% rocks which means raised beds which ... oh, am I not looking forward to that. Even cold soapy water is probably better than nothing, and you can do that with a spray bottle.
  23. Even if it did, community gardens are probably locked right now. My brother is a community garden manager in the SF Bay area for his school, and the gardens are strictly closed. He *might* be able to get access as a manager to at least water everything for people, but not necessarily. How the balls is a community garden /not/ essential? YAh, okay, gotta schedule very much more carefully, because of The Plague (TM), but... I think my brain just exploded. Again.
