July 26. Do you have a cat? have you ever painted a mini to look like your cat?
Would love to have a cat but they're not allowed in the public apartments where I live, sadly.

I have never understood the point of paying money to be placed in a situation where I am not allowed to leave at a time of my choosing...
I normally never would do something like this but it's on a friend's birthday party and I don't want to miss it.

Bring a chainsaw...
Considering it's an Annabelle themed room and I haven't seen that movie or any other film like that in ages.... I might very well need it.
Watching a horror movie the day after that as well.. Awfully adventurous for a person who would never normally touch a horror film with a pike.

A quick google search didn’t reveal any containers that looked much like Wizard towers. But I am clueless about bubble-tea. It = boba tea?
It's a cylinder but tapering off at the cup's end. Flipped upside down the cup looks like it could make a good tower thingo. Yeah bubble tea is boba tea.

Do be sure to take pics and share your progress in the terrain forum!
More coffee!
I have a mountain of sprue so running out wouldn't be an issue. Will do!

Welcome back! There are lots of videos on YouTube videos on terrain making. It doesn't have to be difficult to get something that looks good on the table.
For example: https://youtu.be/wvdoRophv_I
Thanks for the video! I was thinking of using plastic sprue chunks and gluing those to the container which seems even more tedious than the foam core but I don't really have much to do with my day now I'm on vacation so at least it'll be something productive! :)

Hello, everyone. Been a bit of a while due to some real life stuff.
Straight into the somewhat nonsensical updates, very tempted to get some bubble tea to make the container into a wizardy tower or something for fun. Would be a foray into terrain which isn't something I've explored a lot in my time in the hobby.

It was a cockroach. It skittered under the kitchen skin. The cabinet and the counters are now covered in a thick dusting of diatomaceous earth with the emergency Giant Shoe on standby in case the bug deigns to show itself. There's also dead mice in a mouse trap down the hall near the trash chute. Suddenly the building's habit of lax maintenance and little-to-no cleaning of the common areas have come back to haunt everyone who stays...
We, on the other hand, are moving to a place that actually has a contract with an exterminator. And has recycling.
Ee, I see big cockroaches sometimes here when going to the bathroom at night. Once I stepped on one when I didn't turn the lights on.
I'm not sure if it was the cockroach or me that was more surprised.

Weekend Questions for:
May 18 to 19 ~ Do you prep Miniatures in well in advance of painting them? (Scrape mold lines, prime, shade...etc.)
If Yes, are you going to prep some this weekend for the Memorial Day Weekend Painting Binge (which is next weekend)?
I scrape moldlines a while before priming, but once I prime then painting follows soon. I should get into prepping miniatures in advance though, but lost 0.2mm airbrush tip is making it a bit difficult and so is the tedium of scraping moldlines and actually building them.

Theatre performance done! It was really hectic but so fun to do and I think I did rather well. It was nice watching the other groups perform as well, so much talent and so much positivity. Made some tea too and had some more tea with a friend after the performances. (And toast!)

Goodness, painting these models is a slog. So many little details, ahhh. Might do a nice clean Space Marine (Poetry at it's finest.) as a break once I've established some progress on these.

Our smoke alarm is going to spend the night in the basement while it thinks about what it's done.
We got home from work at 130am as usual. There's this shrill beep. Ugh. A minute or so later another one. Then another one. The interval was chaotic, anywhere from 15 seconds to 7 minutes. We had to wake up the building manager to get him to remove the thing. He's taken it to the basement where it can beep to its little heart's content.
I have taken a fistful of ibuprofen. I started the night with a migraine, this has not helped matters.
Tired.
Hope your headache's better!!
Today's been an interesting day, theatre rehearsals after school were a bit frustrating but I think my group's in a good place so that's something sorted. Might paint again now that schedule's not crammed to burst.

And got a buyer for the goblin half of Looncurse, wonderful. Building the tree dudes now, which is a bit of a PITB. Oh well, c'est la vie.

A merry mother's day to all y'all!!
Going the FLGS to get my box of Looncurse and some paint, so that's rather exciting. And afterwards, watching The Son while procrastinating on assigments.

Hey everyone,
Having spent the last 4 weeks away from any sort of miniatures (Fun vacation tho!), I'm super eager to paint again, and with my return flight being tomorrow, I thought I'd make this thread as a sort of documentation/to-do list. I want to clear my backlog because I'll be frank I'm sick of staring at unpainted plastic every day and I want to do something remotely productive in these remaining four weeks I have free. I have mostly Warhammer miniatures, though there is some Mantic and Reaper stuff in there.
First of all to be done is this charming fellow.
A Stormcast chap who I first tested sculpting fur on, which I'm reasonably happy with. A closer look at the fur, which does look like guacamole in this picture.
Right now it's a standard basecoat and drybrush fur, but I will re-doing the fur and wet blend it to something like what this fellow has.
Have a nice day!

I recently read Dune Messiah and Children of Dune. I've been wanting to read them for a while, and they don't disappoint.

Made a nice Macaroni Asian style yesterday...
I cooked macaroni for a few minutes.
Then stir fried ground beef and ham cubes seasoned with curry powder, garlic powder and kecap ( black soy sauce )
Added dried veggies ( need to add boiled water to those , set for 10 minutes, then use them in a dish)
Made some omelets, and cut those to pieces added that.
Added the macaroni and stir fried the whole thing.
Served it with grated cheese and Tomatoe Ketchup, some pickles and cucumbers on the side.
Quick, cheap and yummie!!!
You can add fresh veggies, salade on the side etc etc...
Sounds delicious. How long did you cook it for?
I precooked the macaroni for 4 minutes, then let it rest in a colander to drip out the water.
I stirfry the ground beef and ham till it is no longer raw, the beef turns brown...
Add the veggies, the egg, and finally the macaroni.
Keep stirfrying so it won't get burned..
After a few minutes all is mixed and hot, serve!!
I see. Might try it sometime.

Had some elderflower cordial today, and I love the stuff. Hopefully I can get some here, ordering from overseas would be a great hassle.

Good morning everybody!
Woke up fairly early today, so I have some time before I head off and do stuff. Might paint a bit, but not sure about that.

I just received a copy of the Burning of Prospero box in English, after it was delivered in French. I'm surprised and quite elated. :D
So the delivery man said: "Good day sir, here is your package" instead of "Bonjour monsieur, voici votre colis."?
How many languages does you delivery man know?

@Glitterwolf Get well soon!!
@Thoramel That's a very kind thing to do, I'm glad she's happy!!
Been a little stressed for a test very soon.
Unrelated, thought I'd listen to Conan O'Brien's podcast and was enjoying it.. turned off the volume without realising it and spent twenty minutes with the podcast running while doing a bunch of other stuff. oops. Happens so often with podcasts and I.
