  1. I just pushed it out about an hour ago to the general public after I confirmed something.
  2. Willen emailed us and we were able to work together to get to the root of this issue! Thanks so much! A small update is going out today to address the problem he was seeing. Fortunately, it only affects a very small number of people. If anything ever comes up, please email us! Often the crash logs aren't good enough to get to the bottom of it on their own.
  3. Willen, you are one of those we're trying to track down! Can you please email us at feedback at courageousoctopus.com. We want to work with you to get to the bottom of this problem. This will be immensely helpful to us. Since you've started work on it...... I couldn't wait so ordered an android device, just to download and use your app! Which arrives on Friday ! Could you look at in your app build, the ability to be able to convert or use the library of data that is created in an existing android version ...and convert / share it with the iOS devices app?library? Probably not an option ....but I don't code apps, so thought I would throw it out there......if it is, then I could have all my info available on all my devices. Or at least export? So I could switch over when the new app is ready ? Thanks for all the contact / info on the forums. Can't wait to get the app on Friday....after I figure out how to use an android device..... Ideally the Google Drive backup feature would cross the iOS/Android barrier. That's the goal. Haven't tested it yet.
  4. Hello all! Yes, we had a massive update recently (followed quickly by a crash fix). The Google Drive stuff is what is asking for your details in app permissions (or possibly the upgraded Google API library). We don't do anything with location, though I suppose Google's Ad network might use it to serve ads in the free version. The identity part is definitely Google Drive because it has to ask for permission to access it and it asks which account do you want to use. The app uses your Google Drive App Folder space that's linked directly to your app. You can see what apps are using that by going into the settings on Google Drive and clicking on Connected Applications. If we're missing paints, please PLEASE email us (feedback at courageousoctopus.com) or send us a tweet. We'll get them in a future update. We track all those messages from people in a big Trello board. We are actually still trying to track down a bottle: 9659 Purple Wash. If you have that please email us pictures of them, front and back of bottles (bar code particularly). We realize it was a special release. I've started work on an iOS version, but I can't give an estimate of completion. As for new Reaper Bones, I'll reach out to Reaper and try to get the missing info (namely the bar codes). Jeff https://twitter.com/courageousocto PS: If you ever see a weird crash, please fill out the message in the crash log and send it in. There's one I've seen reported about 5 times but we don't have enough info to reproduce yet. Emailing us about it is also very helpful.
  5. Hi team, Jeff back from Courageous Octopus. This past week we put out a big update which included searching and sorting by manufacturer SKU as requested in this thread. We'll continue to add more features. If you haven't already, please give it a download. We're on Twitter, too: https://twitter.com/courageousocto.
  6. We are part way into adding custom paint support. I put a bunch of time into this past weekend and will keep plugging away in my spare time. This will allow you to add a paint and fill in all the necessary details - or, record notes for a paint mix of your own mad creation. Sorting by SKU is a good idea but we'll need to ensure every bottle has a SKU. I don't think that's entirely true ATM. We are also part way into getting Google Drive integration ready so you can just click to save your DB to Google Drive and import in the other side. This will hopefully alleviate the stories of tracking on two separate devices! Keep the feedback coming!
  7. Found one problem that will stop me from using this. It does not have a feature to allow for how many bottles of paint you have of a color? There are some I have more than 1 of. This. It would really help to track number of bottles. paintRack has that paint in the database. Just no way to mark how many bottles you have currently. When we originally designed the app we intended it to only be 'have' and 'have-not' on the app for bottles. This makes the design waaaay cleaner (gives you the convenient tapping on bottles to add/remove, for instance). However, plenty of people have several copies of the same bottles. So we are planning on adding an 'advanced option' to turn on bottle counts (the database will actually support it already). This will dirty up the UI a bit but everything is a trade off in design, right?
  8. We don't support Scale75 barcodes, unfortunately. We talked to the manufacturer and they said not to bother - they're not really meant for that. If they add read EAN barcodes in the future we'll try to get our hands on them. REALLY old Citadel won't be in there either, probably. I think we have current gen and two gens back (under Citadel Classic). I hear you, iOS fans! We have a few more big features we'd like to add to the Android version first, probably (custom paints, etc.). Now that Xamarin is free, we may able to do some cross-platform stuff for iOS. Give us a follow @courageousocto on Twitter for up to date news. If you have a particular paint line you want, send us a tweet or email. We tally the votes to decide what to do next, in general.
  9. Jeff here from Courageous Octopus of paintRack fame. Glad to hear so many people like the app! Really, it's a labor of love for Scott, the other dev, and I. We hope you get lots out of it. Our goal was to make an awesome paint helper tool for about the cost of one bottle of paint. I encourage you to use the feedback form in the app to send us an email with anything you find that is odd or missing. I know there are a handful of Reaper paints still missing as well as a few Vallejo. We continue to try to catch 'em all. This latest app update added 160 new paints bringing us to over 2500 paints across 13 manufacturers. We are really serious on that feedback! It's how we decide on future updates. A big help to us is leaving us an awesome review on Google Play or telling your friends so they can try it, too. More features coming soon! Cheers!
  10. This sounds very exciting to me! I'll have to see if I can get this on my Kindle Fire, or ideally it would be great if they made it for iOS so I could use it on my phone.I messed with the free version for a few minutes, and then upgraded. I have scanned a dozen or so paints, and the only ones giving issues so far have pretty rough labels (so not the app's fault). I plan to try and streamline my paints in tonight...but realistically will take a few days. paintRack dev here. We love getting feedback so give the free version a try! We should have all the Reaper paints from the main line but we are missing some of the kickstarter and one-off paints. It's also possible the EAN barcode is drastically different than what we recorded in which case it could have a problem finding the scan. So if you run into a specific bottle that is having problems, please send us the info because we'd love to catch it all. Thanks! I sent you a list of all the Limited Edition paints that I know of. Hopefully that can help. I do have one question, though. Some paints visually look very different than they do in hand (Forest Green is a completely different shade of green, and I noticed some colors were even a different color entirely). Does this have an effect on the Color Tools feature? Also, I noticed a couple of metallics that don't have the metallic icon. Yes, please let us know if a color is the wrong color! That would be a bug. And anything missing the metallic icon!
