    Just a hello

Please to meet you. Show us some stuff!
  2. OK. I have PM'd everybody I can think of and have the following list of names: Glitterwolf Edsterdoom Beagle Kuroneko Limeth Arkady Tosattearp Is seven of us enough to make this work? I received the box from Tosattearp, so I was proposing to put him at the end of the list. Does anyone have any strong feelings about where they are in the order of recipients?

Getting to Know You -- Sept 2019

Definitely a morning person. I'm happiest if I can sit down to breakfast knowing I have already got at least one item of work under my belt.

Getting to Know You -- Sept 2019

From the sublime to the ridiculous:
  5. That's a very generous offer of hospitality Doug, I'll PM you in a bit as our plans get a bit more developed. Yes, sadly it looks like adding Custer NP to the itinerary is a bit too ambitious... maybe next time! I'm painfully aware that there will be much we would miss no matter how long we might stay.
  6. Yes, We shall be buying National Parks Pass as soon as we land, and expecting to get a lot of use out of them. I fear we shall only be scratching the surface of Yellowstone, even though we are devoting 3 days to seeing as much as possible. Thank you for all your useful advice, we are really excited at the thought of all the world famous sights we shall get to see.
  7. This might interest all you cat-people fans: https://www.northumbriantinsoldier.com/kickstarter/?fbclid=IwAR2vNcDBYzAl2Ct1mDwWvoY12mgYhrHBOShD1I9Rmp6eG7ZMvhD_Nn73l84
  8. Thanks a lot for the advice. I shall certainly put Custer State Park on the "Must see (and eat)" list.
  9. There's a lot of it, isn't there? Starting off in Denver, then driving in a big circle to take in The Dinosaur National Monument, Yellowstone, Bryce Canyon and Lake Powell. Plus a considerable amount of food and shopping.

As I said earlier, I'm not superstitious, but I'd never tempt fate and would avoid sailing on re-named ships. I did once sail wit a sweet old Scots Captain who was dreadfully superstitious about causing bad weather. In fact even saying the word "Weather" would cause him to almost accuse people of calling up typhoons.

I'm not superstitious.... slightlystitious, but not superstitious.... And I'd never, ever, walk under a black cat.

There really does seem to be a National Day for absolutely everything. I would not drink any milkshake if I can just get a nice glass of ordinary fresh milk from the local farm. Nectar.

I hope you don't begrudge me a little compensation for prolonged absence from friends and family. Soak white onions and bread in hot milk, additional doses of honey for sore throat and lemon for congestion. Stiff tot of whiskey before bed.

Getting to Know You -- Sept 2019

I am the fortunate beneficiary of the legacy of UK's historic role as the largest marine trading nation. There is still a provision within our tax codes for members of the merchant navy that allows serving officers who spend more than 185 days a year outside UK... to reclaim 100% of their tax! For this reason I usually take at least one short holiday abroad each year to be sure that I qualify for this "little" bonus. It just amazes me that this loophole hasn't been abolished by the killjoys in our government... yet.

Probably having a little holiday abroad to keep the taxman happy. (Either Ethiopia or Malaya for some bird-watching.) Hobby-wise: Finally get stuck into Bones IV.
