  1. I would have thought that one each of the "Frostgrave" wizard and fighter sets, (either sex), would allow you to pretty much cover this. And than buy some of the monster packs to give a selection of baddies.
  2. Anything without an asinine DJ or other idiotic talking head who will distract me from other suicidally inclined road users.
  3. As Inarah says, the best hotel experiences aren't the amenities, but what you do and see there. So, in no particular order: The hotel on the Ice, Hudson Bay and seeing Polar Bears A grass hut in the Selous Park, Tanzania, where in the middle of the night my wife begged me to stop snoring and I had to tell her that she was hearing an elephants digestive system as it was eating the thatch on the roof. A tent in Kahna Tiger park that was big enough for a four-poster bed and a gigantic bathtub. (And seeing plenty of tigers, of course!) Plenty of candidates for the worst too, but I shalln't forget joining a ship in Conakry, Guinea in a hurry. 2 nights in an airless hell-hole with hardly any food and not much sleep due to the rampant cockroaches.
  4. When I worked I felt I had pretty much the perfect job. I used to think about what would happen if an unexpected fortune just fell in my lap. Extra taxes, begging letters, loss of friends... So all in all I would ask for the third option: Good health for all my allotted span. Hastily touching wood, I've done pretty well on that score so far too.
  5. Just keys, Other pockets are weighed down with bleeper and lifeboat stuff.
  6. Absolutely this. It fascinates me that, despite the fact that Corsair and I have almost diametrically opposed "world views", we frequently come up with the same attitudes and answers.
  7. Quite a few. Some of them are even the official "clean" ones. I can recite quite a lot of poetry too.
  8. Not really a thing here in UK. When the rain gets up to a certain temperature we call it Spring.
  9. 7 for me. I think I must own the same edition of Trivial Pursuit that ManvsMini has.
  10. At home, re-watching Dr Strangelove. A small bowl of nuts and fruit leather.
  11. At the risk of feminist outrage... silk stockings.
  12. Completely agree with this, but adding one small adjustment: ".. put in the oven until I can't resist the smell any longer!"
  13. Basically yes. As I said, going to sea had put a stop to 90% of my hobbying, but I had done a lot of table top gaming by then and just discovered D&D. All those passions are still with me.
  14. Never. don't use an alarm clock. I get up when I wake up.
  15. I was 23. Spent the first 4 months in college, sweating my way through the first part of my Chief Engineers exams. Passed the exam by the skin of my teeth. Very glad to get the paperwork out of the way. Then did a short trip on a minesweeper to fulfil my required time with the RNR, a very bouncy few weeks in the North Sea. Then away for a long trip on a VLCC: "Mobil Condor", joined in the Arabian Gulf and slow steamed to Rotterdam and back, which took up most of the rest of the year. As I was living out of a suitcase most hobbying was on hold. When I passed my exam I treated myself to a copy of SPI's "Highway to the Reich". Drooled over the maps and counters, but didn't get a chance to actually play any of it until several years later. Oh yes, somewhere in all that I got engaged...
  16. A) Good strong hot tea. B) Watching my father sculpt amazingly intricate sand-castles.
  17. I don't suppose I will ever get a copy of "Hush" Not sure that I could do justice to it if I could get a copy.
  18. But... nothing is broken? (Perhaps this is an example of January 19th. quizzle)
  19. Related, but admittedly getting away from the question... Consider the altered current meanings of "Objective" and "Subjective."
