Since I started this, hours, days, months, years, decades and even centuries have passed in my skoli history in my game world. I had thought I had moved on, but lo I now find myself waiting (again) for those powers that be to lay my curiousity to rest. For just in case those historians may have been deluded and Reapers hold the Truth. Ode

    Pinning

Morgramen Tried a few pictures to show pinning detail. Just crap. Buddy promised to try his new digital camera??? I will keep trying. Buying a big kit was my first mistake. I normally srcatch build. I garbaged most of the plywood pieces and the planking was marginal at best. The brass kit was excellent. The ship is not complete, working on the standing rigging. I do not get to this site often, only caught this post by accident.

    Pinning

I pin everything that will accept a pin. I power drill every hole. Use high quality carbon twist bits. Used in electronic circuit board manufacturing. The worn bits are used as pins. Note hole and pin size always match. I never use flexible wire. The carbon twist bits are never cut to length. They break nicely. I drill one hole, both pieces (or more) same time. No alignment problems. The fluting on the bits (pin) allow excellent epoxy adhesion. The surface entry is repaired with modeling epoxy. If you use headed pins on ball and socket joints articulation is possible. My last highly pinned project was a wooden ship the WASA.(Estimate 800hrs) The planking on the hull required 3000 + pins. The reason I no longer hand drill. Every project has unique variables. Plan, Test, Practise, Implement. Good Modeling ODE

Thank you Mini Reaper. I actually regret asking the question. Your teaser was fine but not helpful. My three different play groups eat up my material so fast I had hoped to take a short cut and not reinvent the wheel. As they say time waits (or game sessions) for no race. May your campaigns never fail for the lack of a nail in a horse shoe. Ode signing off.

    Glowing weapons

Glowing swords. Visit your nearest autobody. The specialty paints for "Candy" and "Ghost" effects are spectacular. They give a depth and luminousity that can not be beat by water base. (Opinion, very humble) Very tough to catch on film. You can see the paint catch stray light and bend it optically around the weapon. The catch is they want to sell you quantities to paint a car. They do keep touch up quantities, just ask politely and lead them to believe you will be back with your car. Ode

Frogs -- Chickens †I can't tell the difference especially free range. I truly thought little would come of my request. Response has kept me entertained. Now let's try our own stats and see if Ron's MATCH. Let's use 3rd Ed D&D. I propose natural armour +4. I think that's easy. Now how about strenght? I will muse special abilities. Ode
  15. I thought I saw this figure @ Reapermini??? Six arms, serpent body. Would fit nicely with 3rd Ed. D&D Module. Add some chains and presto The Cathezar.
