  1. Also a lot of the weaker boxes are meant to be used on wrapped pallets, for stability and protection. But if you put palletized material in a UPS/USPS delivery van/jeep, you lose the cubic footage of the pallet as shipping space. a 4' x 4' x 6" pallet is 8 cubic feet of space. The reason shipping companies use pallets is that the container can be unloaded and back into service faster, generating more profit for the company. The manufacturer that sent the boxes to reaper, on the other hand, did NOT palletize the boxes, in order to fit the maximum of boxes per container. Plus, in my experience (
  2. I dread to see the actual weight and physical size of my order. Kind of went overboard again, but there was just SO MUCH GOOD STUFF. Shipping was 130$, if that is an indicator. I have no doubt there will be some creative language on the part of the order puller and the UPS driver bringing it up to the third floor. Stairs, no elevator. It is honestly easier to say what I did NOT order (LTP kit, paints, busts, bases). Multiples of several items - Core x 2, 3 of each siege engine, 2 catfolk, 3 dragonfolk, 2 daimyo, 2 fan favorites, 2 chronoscope, 2 greek odyssey, 2 extra elves, 4 extra walls of s
  3. To my eye, the shoulder and boot on that side also seem slightly larger, as well. Whether it is an error, or as intended is hard to say. There are medical conditions that can cause this sort of thing, as well as life experiences. That is not even considering the effects of "fantasy physics" (spells, potions, curses, weird plants or venoms, etc.). There is also the possibility of sculptor, mold making, or casting error. Definitely off, to my eye. But that is not necessarily a bad thing. It could be a good starting point for an interesting NPC backstory. "Well, Magda Greatarm was cur
  4. The fourth scion is the Air scion (genie) and is in the Fan Favorites expansion.
  5. Sprue cleaning and disposal are a pain in the rear, but there are very good reasons for having sprued figures.
  6. If too many cords are drawing from one outlet (via power strips, etc) I believe this can cause a fire hazard by causing the wiring feeding the outlet to overheat. I have personally experienced this on a tradeshow floor when there was WAAAY too much stuff plugged into one extension cord, causing the cord to be hot to the touch. The flow of electricity through a conductor creates waste heat, depending on the efficiency of the conductor. Copper is the best balance of material cost and efficiency, although I have seen steel and aluminum used as well. Another fun fact is that as electricity flows t
  7. They actually had been doing 8 hour days for a while. I have no doubt they will be taking the time from today, Monday, and possibly Tuesday to try to figure out what is going on with their order pull system for the Kickstarter. Remember that this is not their everyday business. They do this every two years or so, and each time they have modified their system to get better fulfillment. Unfortunately, that also means new bugs, new breakdowns, and new challenges. What I dream to see is Reaper's in house production and shipping efficiency improve to the point where they become an opti
  8. Here is a nightmarish thought. Imagine if there is a Reaper employee, who in good faith supported the Kickstarter, got an early wave, and is sitting there pulling everyone else's orders while waiting for theirs to come up.
  9. By the by, please do not think I am saying that you have no right to be disappointed. Hell, I'm disappointed. Just trying to help with a little perspective. WTF? Not open on a Saturday? My stony dwarven heart breaks. I envy you being so much closer than I am. I just do not think my wife would accept a move to Texas, just for the sake of me being closer to the source of my PVCrack, though.
  10. Nah, I was just talking about a retail shopping trip for stuff from Bones 1-4, plus maybe one of their tours.
  11. I think the Fire Marshall situation had a hand in that as well. Wait and see where things are Wednesday next week. I think we will be pleased. I expect to see my order by the end of the month, we are 3 months out from the estimated fulfillment date, and considering the last two years events, that is actually doing pretty good. If you really have a "jones for Bones", you are only 5 hours out from Denton. Road trip time, maybe? I know I would.
  12. On the other hand, if they had waited until they had everything in hand before starting fulfillment, how many people that did not have the "items of doom" would be upset at this point? I seem to remember this happening in an earlier Bones KS, and people were asking that they just ship the orders they could. Seems like no matter which way they went on this one, a lot of people would get upset. I think they made the best decision they could under the circumstances, and I will try to be patient in the interim. I do not doubt they ran a database scan to see how many orders would be affected before
  13. It must be some kind of curse. Mr Bones is mad because he only got a two panel cameo in this one, and is jealous of Sophie getting all the love. Give love to Mr Bones to get your minis. Hopefully, the Chinese factory was not in Wuhan province, or we might have a hand in that too. Do we get extra points if we broke the WORLD?
  14. I guess I will chime in here with a wall of text. I have supported all 5 Bones campaigns and seen fulfillment improve (IMO) with each one. Covid gave the shipping industry a knockdown suckerpunch this time around, but I have faith that Reaper will do their best to handle the situation in a fashion that is best for the majority of backers. Ipersonally started with a wave 5 slot, due to us backers breaking Kickstarter. I was logged in at 1100 when it went live and could not get my pledge to process until almost 11:30. Over the course of the campaign I camped the Kickstart
  15. My understanding is that ALL of the size class Medium (Human sized) and smaller figures will be Bones Black, regardless of group (core, Expansion, Add on, Encounter). Size class Large and greater figures, terrain, etc will be cast in Bonesium, Bones Black, or (possibly for the ship) ABS on a case by case basis. From the Kickstarter campaign page FAQ link (ALLLLL the way at the bottom):
  16. A somewhat punnish one - The Cenote. As it costs 100$ (C-note), and is a pit for sacrifice of valuables (Cenote).
  17. Contact the Pratchett estate and give me a Hogfather. With pig drawn sledge, DEATH acting as a substitute, and elf Albert. In relation to B5 (so cool), is anyone else planning to do up one of the gem dragons as an Ice Dragon? I saw the thread where someone tested the Tamiya Clears, and just ordered one of each.Hopefully I'll be able to get some practice in with my transparent Bones from the previous Kickstarters before my gem dragons arrive.
  18. Another option would be to go DOWN a scale or two (to 1/72 or maybe 15mm) and use a full sized cannon from that scale. Probably have to scratch build or convert the carriage, though.
  19. A Bones product I would like to see is a series of Bones Black Multipart PC kits (to begin with). Here is what I visualize. 1) Broken up by race for the major PC/NPC races in most FRP systems. Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Gnomes/Halflings, and Half-orcs to start. The classics 2) Each set would have 5 male bodies and 5 female bodies with at least 1 in basic clothing/robes, 1 in light armor (leather/cloth/studded leather), and 1 in heavy armor (banded, scale, chain, plate) 3) a few arm selections for each body type (staff, bow, sword, mace, spear, crossbow, etc) 4) 5-8 each
  20. Really depends on the GM and players. Also a lot of people transition in both directions, from RPG to Wargaming, or the other way around. I, personally do both, and IMO, a significant percentage of Reaper's customers as well. Eagerly hoping for Bones Black, multipart, tabletop wargaming units. I would happily pay 30$ for a 15-20 pack. Closest thing thus far is the elven rangers, boulderkin, grave kings, etc groups in this KS, and other groups of the same sort in previous Kickstarters. The siege equipment gives me hope, though.
  21. Altering the sign would also be a good use for these guys from Bones 3, if you have them. I'm sitting on 3 sets of each, unused, as I have been waitng for the retail release to make sure I can get more. As far as I know, these are the ONLY Bones items to never see retail.
