  1. Hmm... so much talent either takes time to get recognized (like actors) or time to get applied (such as scientists), so I'd want something that would be beneficial to me within the scope of a single day (even if that just means personal satisfaction). There's also the interesting conundrum of making a name for yourself with something you won't be able to keep up... First thing that really comes to mind would be to have Matt Mercer's DMing skills (including voice acting) for the finale of my group's campaign. Really send this thing off in the most amazing way possible for my players.
  2. Not sure how much the waves really inspire people to not sit on the fence, either. I pledged almost immediately when the KS went live, and ended up Wave 5. There are enough people willing and eager to join the Reaper KS events that anyone on the fence is likely to be in the 20s of the waves regardless on what they actually decide, given how quickly they fill up. The earlier waves are pretty much taken up by ultra-eager people to begin with. I don't know if tiered rewards are even necessary to begin with, but even something as simple as an extra bottle of paint or a promotional mini could be plenty to motivate people into different tiers. Maybe even instead of tiers clearly being better than one another, instead each tier could include a different promotional mini as a mascot, so each "wave" had an almost sense of community amongst each backer (and without shipping being determined by waves, hopefully that sense of community wouldn't fall into frustrated tribalism).
  3. That sounds really frustrating as well. Yeah, I know we'll get it eventually, and I really look forward to that day. But hooooo boy, do I feel way too undervalued as a customer right now to even consider backing another KS at the moment.
  4. Honestly, I'm kinda at the point where it's pretty laughable for me to put money into a reopened Pledge Manager right now. Like, I'm not sure when I'm even gonna get the original fulfillment that I pledged nearly two years ago- I definitely don't have much confidence in making a new pledge. And for the peanut gallery, I know Reaper is doing their best in a difficult global situation. But "it'll get here when it gets here" isn't really as satisfying as it used to be, especially when some people have had their stuff for almost a week now.
  5. Yeah, that's kinda what I meant the other day. Basically, it's a FOMO machine. It's been almost two years since the KS launched, but these last few weeks feel the longest for sure. I get that. But if you can manage to not worry about others, I think you'll be a lot happier. That's not to say this situation doesn't stink. I know my wave is getting their packages as soon as today or tomorrow. Rune Wights and Dragonborn knocked me out of that, and it's frustrating. I really wish that wasn't the case. But eh, what can ya do?
  6. If we're launching a thousands ships today, can we refer to 7/1 as Helen of Troy Day?
  7. Fair- though as a Wave 5 backer, I can assure you we definitely aren't all getting it either. 😅
  8. Yeah... the Kickstarter went live almost two years ago now. It's amazing how much emphasis people put on waves, when it's really probably just a matter of a couple days.
  9. Wave 5 for me. I'm closing on a new house this Friday, but I should still have this place for a month or two, so I think we should be good. My party is currently in the middle of an arc (a heavily modified version of the Divine Contention module) so I don't really need it all quite yet... But it would be great to get soon! Dragons have been an extreme rarity in my campaign so far (it takes place after a previous campaign where we ran the Rise of Tiamat) but they're unraveling some mysteries back in the Sword Coast as to exactly why that is, so it would be amazing to have Shavynra or Ilraedis to throw on the table sometime as they sift through the ruins of the Cult of Dragons. And the terrain would be awesome too, as there will soon be a battle at Baldur's Gate that the players may be involved in. I have some foam walls and buildings made, but some of the terrain could really flush out the scene for a massive battle encounter involving holding a bridge, rescuing villagers, manning trebuchets, etc. I could cover a massive table in my map slates, deck it out with terrain, and just run an enormous encounter, as a sort of penultimate chapter of this campaign, should they choose to defend the city.
  10. Just out of curiosity- by "Bust collection", does that just mean the three humanoid busts, or the dragon ones as well?
  11. 610 for me, it looks like. One of everything but a few items (like Chronoscope and the ship, a few others), and a few duplicates of some items (dragon busts, 2x siege weapons and 3x trebuchets).
  12. @mikem91 I realize that my post having immediately followed yours might've made it seem like I was targeting you, but tbh I'm not sure I'd even read yours at the time. Just funky timing, I assume, but I definitely wasn't trying to call you out or anything. Cheers. Honestly, thanks for both the commiseration and words of encouragement, everyone. I'm sure we'll see it soon, and I'm excited for when that happens! And of course, I'm at the stage of moving when this is most awkward (still awaiting for final approval, so I'm not ready to list it as our new address yet)... so no doubt that's adding to the stress.
  13. I know Reaper is doing the very best in a global catastrophe, and we'll have our minis soon enough, but the cult of toxic positivity (mostly on Facebook) doesn't seem particularly productive. Like, it's okay to be a little frustrated that you want your KS order that was estimated originally for April. It's okay to be a little antsy about that. Obviously don't take it out on Reaper or their employees (because again, they're working hard to make this right) but stuff like "I have 956,403 minis so I don't need it anytime soon" isn't really the comfort some of y'all think it is. In fact, in anticipation of the KS arriving, I'm personally nearly caught up now, and it's kinda pompous and presumptuous to assume that everyone else is also in the same position. Idk, don't mean to complain here, and I know it won't get the containers in faster. But it's okay to be a little frustrated, is all.
  14. We're so close! I long ago stopped my daily oogling of the minis on the kickstarter page, so now I almost feel like I'll be surprised at all the goodies! I'm really looking forward to all the terrain pieces coming in. I have some homemade stuff I've used, but this is gonna really bulk up the set pieces I can throw on the table.
  15. That's a good point. In fact, the novels rarely deal with monsters, outside of the prequel short story compilations. The video games seem to have a different vibe, but their status in canon is kinda funky anyway.
  16. I don't wanna yuck anybody's yum (and the minis do definitely look cool) but it's interesting they set something as character-heavy as The Witcher in a completely different time period with (almost) none of the characters we know. I guess KOTOR got lucky being praised for doing the same thing, but I can't help but feel that without its characters or political conflict, the Witcher is just kinda condensed down to European folklore/fantasy. Then again, apparently they're making a TV show set in this period too, so what do I know? Maybe I'm just salty we're not getting Gerault, Cirri, and Yen 😔
  17. Might be too optimistic, but it might at least be well within the realm of possibility that those six six-demon packs will either ship or arrive on 6/6, too... 😅
  18. Haha, "Demonic Tutor" might be what you're thinking of 😉
  19. Right? Feels like overtime in a soccer game- we all accounted for it, but knowing we're so close to the end without quite knowing how much time is left is making it seem a lot longer than it is. 😝 I'm sure we'll get news soonish, and not long after we'll finally get our hands on these sweet minis.
  20. Oh, I'm sure I'll have plenty of use for them in our ongoing one. We're pretty sandbox right now so it'll be tough to prioritize what to paint first!
  21. Weird question- we made an offer on a house, and could be closing within 45 days. However, I've made a deal with our current renter that we'd give them a 3 month heads up (which we'll be doing today) whenever we're ready to move. So, with that in mind... it would be reasonable enough to assume Bones V would be here 3 months from today, right?
  22. Last weekend we started a one shot with one of the other teams that the players had dispatched to the Sword Coast. The one shot is based on an existing 5E adventure, so no spoilers, but if the characters succeed then they may gain some support of mages to aid in False Mezro's resistance. The players' regular characters are also now headed to the Sword Coast, so things might get interesting. If both groups meet, I'm considering letting them mix the teams up a bit and play as whichever characters they want for a while.
  23. Excellent, that's what I was hoping for! 😀
  24. So excited for shipping to start (relatively) soon! Will there be a way to track our orders once they ship?
