  1. The Hive-City tile for Planetary empires looks like kitbash made of old sprues: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/...dId=prod280002a
  2. Z-Games in vancouver Washington is closing down. They had a great run, and were the best game store I've ever been too. Sean and Keandra were always fantastic. Kendra is in the Navy though, and Sean decided to close down. It was great while it lasted, and I wish Sean and Kendra all the best.
  3. I don't get why GW doesn't do a single new metal mini a month. Could be anything, doesn't even have to be for a game. They have a rabid fanbase that will buy almost anything they put out, and they still under-market.
  4. And 1 is terrain and the other is a re-packing of a fantasy product. To be fair, there are at least some new tiles in the Planetary Empires kit, but for the most part I agree with you. I've heard that Space Wolves aren't due until October. That leaves something like 6-8 weeks of no new releases and no new hype. Very Un-GW. I'm miffed that the nice impressive Hive City tile that's front and center on the box isn't included. It has to be ordered separatly. Jerks.
  5. Oh and the special effects were pretty crappy. Some nice bits but overall really poor. Like Sci-fi channel movie poor. There were lots of hilariously delivered lines though, I liked the pudgy chopper pilot at the start who flatly mention "oh no." When he was getting blown up by cobra's mars-attacks sounding death-rays. You know what, I take it back, GI Joe was the best comedy I've seen in ages.
  6. It was the worst movie I've seen this year. Only slightly better then Transformers 2, which wasn't even a movie, just pure awful on film. I tried to like it, and if I had caught it as a late movie on a lonely Saturday night, would have liked it, but it was just so pants-on-head retarded that I couldn't quiet my inner Morbo: PARTICLE ACCELERATORS DO NOT WORK THAT WAY. GOODNIGHT! ICE DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY. GOODNIGHT! They only named like seven joes, Duke, Ripcord, Heavy Duty, Scarlett, Snake Eyes, the tech guy, and Gen. Hawk. Oh and the guy playing Duke was really really terrible. He's not even that good looking, how the bleeding heck did he even get to be an actor?! Everyone else gnaws scenery like they're starving.
  7. Take care man, hows the job market in your area? Here's mine: http://www.google.com/publicdata?ds=usunem...0&tdim=true I may not get unemployment benefits... As long as it's close to home, that's exactly the kind of job I'm looking for!
  8. Last Day today. I think the Carousel is spinning up. I keep checking if there's a blinking crystal in my palm.
  9. Aaaargh! Oh and I got my Blastscape. Every bit as crap as people were saying, although my set seems as sturdy as the moonscape. I'm taking it as a personal challenge to make them look beautiful, I expect failure. Also got the Imperial Advisors though, wich are some of the finest minis I've seen from Citadel. Highly recommended.
  10. I wish, I love the minis and the universe.
  11. Mine just ogt over chewing. She made cardboard into confetti. So those Battle for Macragge boexes have appreciated: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/...odId=prod80001a And anyone know the point of the new Leman Russ upgrade sprue? It just looks like another normal hull and turret?
  12. Dude I'm still bleeding from last night's rampage. How can two pounds of fuzz do so much damage?
  13. Whole new big set is out in October. Damon is right, it's downhill from here, at least for me.
  14. Empereror's Hello Kitties? Death Kittens?
  15. Totally Space vikings, in a cartoon sort of way. Read the novels, it really comes out there... Salamanders. One of the rite of passages is to kill a Salamander. This was the challenge the emperor and Primarch Vulkan participated in together. Possibly some SM tamed a Salamander, and now uses it as a mount... Damon. Ok, that makes sense, I don't read much of the background that isn't online. According to this there's about a gazillon Space Marine chapters: http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/List_of_Sp...Marine_Chapters So Space Wolves = Vikings. Iron Hands = Robots. Which chapters will out the Ninja, Pirate, and Monkey angles to satisfy all things nerd. Oh and there probably should be a space marine chapter with boobs. Just saying, it would maximise sales to their target demographic. Also there are no chapters that start with X,Y, or Z. GW really needs to get on that.
  16. That gets my vote if I had any say!
  17. What?!? There Space Vikings for the love of god! Who wouldn't want Space Vikings? Blaring The Immigrant song in the background during games? Wagner? c'mon! Despite the nomenclature I've never gotten any sort of space-norse vibe from Space Wolves. Space Marine Wearewolves? Yes. But it's all a subjective : ) Oh and can anyone recommend an Imperial space marine chapter that would be likely to ride dinosaurs? Just hypothetical.
  18. That's probably what happened to the Regimental Advisors pack I ordered that was cancelled by GW. I can't checkout with them in my cart either. Wouldn't be a problem if I could get them from The Warstore or the FLSG, but no, direct only. Jerks. Oh and the "Plastics are just as good" might have more validity if GW wasn't still selling the same horrible Catichans for premium prices.
  19. Unless GW is being very conservative with their sales estimates, ancedotally I would expect Space Wolves to be a bit of a flop. Not only is it an army with narrow appeal, but the ominous price hikes, and the teeth of The Great Recession may nock sales flat. Planetstrike seems to have generated a lot of interest, but not moving much product, even the apparently rare-Imperial Strongpoint is still on shelves at FLSGs.
  20. Documents here: http://www.tabletopgamingnews.com/2009/07/29/28638 and the telling quote here:
  21. So, GW posted sizable profits. Also, plastic prices will be hiked in line with metal. *sigh*
  22. I caved and bought the Iron Dwarf starter. They looked really sci-fi to me. I'm very impressed with the sculpts. Super-detailed resin casts, and for the price, fantastic value.
  23. Love it! Saw the big-screen re-relase in 2002. So awesome, so stupid, yet so great.
