  1. it has happened! even Ugluk is unglued from his arse! i dunno why, but some 10-15 WoW players in the area decide to go Privateer Press, and out of no- where armies rise in the North! actual gamers!! thus, before i commit my Ourobosian Tharnate Regiments, i must ask in humble grace thine opinions on matters tactical received by experiecne from my fellow posters reguarding the intrigues of the flow of battle in this game. as i do say, i have much to learn, and no time in which to learn.... what i know so far: ---Trollkin are Gods. ---'ware the Deathjack, unless you can siphon it's focus and deprive it of souls.... ---The Skorne can do swarm tactics like those scarabs off The Mummy... ---Khador jacks are thicker than stone...and no one ever brings their light jacks. --various small trivia...like why the Nyss won't join the Everblight... gracefully do deposit thy responses herein, and again, thanks.
  2. "Happy Birthday to you... though the cakes' come unglued.... the guest are a'riot... but then, so are you!!!!" enjoy the aging process, especially in terms of material reinforcement...
  3. that's film...the romans in ROME miniseries had english accents... i think it's quite possible they were a BS unit....generally based on something listen to Lars on Osprey Books advice...i buy from the great empire bookstore as well...
  4. I have to do some reinforcement here...i do believe that certain german colonial units wore dark navy as their 'white' officers while the african grunts wore a khaki color and navy fez'z...wish i had th ename, because i didn't retain info like that from this subject over the last 12 years....
  5. Ahh, this would be the work of Dedros-Sensei.... i am glad to see it finished too....makes me wanna try and beat his skill..... we go back....we met in art class ten years ago, but he got me into (non-historical/modern) mini's.... Good Show, Sir Ravenwood!
  6. hello. well, i have to say it. i have picked up the ronin, i am in the process of painting them, and i must say, they are 'flat' and definitely fantasy samurai. please note that i DID buy them, and rather soon after release, but i found them wanting. why are they buttless? the poses are good. both Harinobu and the Kashuga's have good poise, despite the relative flatness of the miniature. In any case, what could be a possible far-east addition to warlord? NINJA: it's gonna be done at some point...at the very least so we can have Pirates vs. Ninja in warlord... --it'd be great if they had stealth poses as opposed to martial arts poses....ninja were special forces infiltrators, not combat whoopers. it'd be great if they had small arsenals of diminutive weaponry...shuriken, grappnels, handclaws...the sword must be short, and can have chain attached. (your preference in the end, oh designers) special abilities need to include Ranger, Backstab, Raider....maybe even First Strike (in any case, one samurai type would need First Strike) type would need to be Adept or a Solo..... FULL ARMOR SAMURAI: as in troop type. probably not as ronin...and we aren't going to see a new "Okura" samurai faction anytime soon, if at all... SOHEI: warrior monks would be the awesome! they would be the third most likely to show up in foreign countries... it'd be great to see curve-blade polearms and geta...the full headcowl would be awesome...as opposed to the partial one my avatar wears as far as Ashigaru, Budoka, cavalry, anything else would need a faction to make sense outside of country.... there it is. thought I'd post a note on this....
  7. you are very welcome.... yeah, i got the impression the whole who-got-who was supposed to be a surprise. glad i could tickle your fancy. go ahead, use him....i coated him something decent, though i did not give him the iron-gloss coat i just gave my Khamul the Easterling (i don't post my non-reaper here...)
  8. i woke up to BBC radio as usual and got this every other turn...its all over euro-news... Pavoratti, dead at 71 to pancreatic cancer. strange, because i think if any other classical performer died (err, save Yo-Yo Ma) people wouldn't recognize who it was. i being more into the Romanticists than into Opera, i never quite paid him as much attention, yet still... but i do...his rendition of Nessun Dorma is better known by soccer fans, but i have always enjoyed it as one of those sad themes that rises to something more passionate and inspiring. Pavoratti's voice consistency and his gusto make his rendition definitive. Time to honor a fallen artist....
  9. no need for apology, it just needs a flash-lead on the left hand findertips, that is all... havign sculpted and poured myslef, i know much has to do with good pouring as well as having air vents. flash is a must on some things...
  10. wha...no more GW forums? *satanic grin incapable of beign expressed with an emotiocon* AhhhaaHAAAHHAAHHHAAHHAAAA!!! *gesturing towards UK* your tyrannical nature is showing, cutting out the masses' tongues like that...yes, it used to be a display of stupidity, but now, you've trumped even that...AhhahhAHHHAAAHHAA!!! *random crazy expresions*
  11. I know a few things: my year and a half ago visit to NYC showed how cleaned up and act-in-gear the PD was there...they got it straight now... Chicago i can believe.... i say Vegas because soooo much crap goes on there, and it's not big news stuff either. once, in 1999, i was in the city for 5 hours and i saw a gang stand off, a drug deal, and a shooting attempt. (SAW...within visual aquisition distance...no sh1t...) the shooting attempt convicned me to continue driving at night. Vegas does have neat terrain. then again, i have a bad habit of picking an exit and getting what i need where i can get it...i once found myself for 2 hours in Indianapolis surrounded by no-one who wasn't curious black folk: *what the he11 is he doing here?* i don't know personally, but once hung out with a few British Xchange students...they told me East Longdon in the early nineties was their equivalent of Ghetto....heck, i can tell you what i knew of the sub-cuture from what i remember...it was the basis of my Mage: the Ascension campaign...
  12. US police departments are actually pretty straight up...their worst thing in most cases is treating it like a 9-to-5 as opposed to beign the pulse of security in US cities... (i myself would like less tickets and more dead criminals. sorry, but it needs to be done seeing how much crime pays off nowadays. lethality scares away the least bad guys, lets you kill the worst. now, back on topic...) don't do a google search for corruption, do one looking for police OVERSIGHT or LAWSUITS/CLASS ACTION against a PD. look for Special Investigations, look for Accusations...corruption is a catchword, not an in-department descriptor. you may also want to look for police targeted web sights and then look for side links... worse comes to worse, pick VEGAS. that city is a bit lot worse than anybody outside knows (then again, resident insiders find Vegas old hat...de-sensitized? everytime i spend a night there i go to sleep wanting to shoot someone. include a plot to kill the water supply, and to start riots. very much a possibility. oh, fun fun.... )
  13. I believe the title you are looking for is: The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension I have to agree with Qwyk. The Black Hole is a good one. And Tron. :) No, that can't be it. Buckaroo Banzai is in no way bad. Unless you mean 'bad', like 'good.' Actually, it was Spacehunter: Adv. in the Forbidden Zone i always thought Buckaroo Banzai was a 80's [email protected] movie as opposed to sci-fi, kinda like how Six String Samurai is a post apoc' and not a samurai movie. oh, all'a you...see Six String Samurai...it is one of those that starts off funky, but gets better as you watch it..... it does help to be drunk though.... PS. sell me on Buckaroo banzai...i have not seen it, but haven't heard enought to motivate my tiny bitty interest....
  14. i do feel really sorry for you. it's not that you yourself are a bad person, but i have gotten sick of painting them! really...3 armies by commision, and my own chaos mariines which are long since gone...they have their oddness: they have very simple angles too many open wide surfaces on basic modles...you HAVE to put a pattern or deal on it to avoid the space. Easy to get varied sculpts. but then you get those oddball variations...and the scale micro-differences. and the best reason for me to be sick: GW loves them, thus i cannot! all you need is four colors on the model and they are legal. paint them some kind of Blood red with black and grey trim, or deep medium blue with gold yellow trim. someone will buy them. GW paint schemes are generally unimaginative and unmilitaristic... go to a game store and leaf through a book or twelve if you want somethign "official" then again, i whish i could show you me ol' Chaos Termies...those guys LOOKED lost in the warp....all that rust...all that corrosion... There is hope, friend....
  15. it actually looks darker in person...like i said, it was diff...no, it was very difficult to photograph. as the recipient has not replied yet, i have either a dead package or a dead recipient...next time, i am NOT sending a Demon to do the work of a Klocke Elf! oh, yeah, non-recipients may comment as well, but i specifically would like to see said recipient either complain about the missing mini or reanimate herself so as to deliver commentary.... (unles the demon didn't do any badness, in which case, all is fine)
  16. heya. had a micro movie marathon (i was mostly involved in a butchered Axis/Allies game) over the weekend, and i saw DarkStar. i immediately had this kick for silly old Sci-fi movies...i dunno, it just clicked something in me that CGI top-grade effects don't. now, i have seen Galaxina and Ice Pirates there is also a movie about a 'Han Solo' type character that is pretty damn bad, so much that i forgot the name. (it was someone's adventure in the somethign or other dimension...or somethign like that) I've seen plenty of Doctor Who and a bit of Battlestar Galactica... of cousre, i've seen All the old star Trek stuff...excludign the cartoons. I have heard of Zardoz, but have not seen it...one faction of sci-fi fans cringes at the name, whist the others start laughing and quote the oh-so memorable tag line.... i have easy access to Soylent Green and Logan's run, just haven't done so (too many samurai movies in the way!) any good recommends??? (espeically if they are really old and worth the watch....do spare the simplistic, if at all possible.)
  17. here is my send-off.... make note, i have done better...but this is it. the hand came misformed. i had to re sculpt the thing.... the camera had problems taking a picture of the damn thing...all that black, and the mid blue background means the camera is jilted! so, it looks odd.... the recipient may comment...
  18. ok, so, treat it like a new model out of the blister...this seems to be the general consensus... and go 'lite'....arright. why brush on, and not spray? something in the aerosol? i'd bet. i am very experienced in washing models...wilco... (PS: Helltown, your quote is awesome. it's sad when you not only know that, but love them for it, and then put it in your mouth after rinsing off the paint to sharpen it..... )
  19. you said it there...that's the kind i got. What did i find? Female...has friends...likes painted mini's... was tempted to convert a hippie chick, but decided not to. was tempted to paint a dryad or cutesy elf, but that really isn't me.... the Naked cave troll needed to have a concealed camera inside of it so i could not just see the look on her face, but put her reaction on the net!!!! but hey, i DID have fun....
  20. this guy's choice of sig quoute is top rate! very good message to spread!

  21. sorry, i'm a Soul Calibur Die-hard... also, fighting games are not my thing...though i can go "haaaaryyuuuken!" like any good geek though i will say SF can really hand it to the Tekken series..there definitely is a peckign order of cool video games in each VG genre...and SF is closer to the top...
  22. ---Mine was shipped in a very padded box last weekend. took 8 hours to finish, not counting dullcoat and wrapping. and a note, All a' ya; please be more specific than "please paint ANYTHING!!!!" anything? .....i was tempted to convert a naked cave troll and give him leprosy, elephantitis, and boils... as it was, i summoned a DEMON!!! (odd, since i hate the [email protected] things!) i'd say i have done better paint jobs, but this one passes for good.
  23. Okay. how do you re-paint those plastic pre-paint guys from WotC... i know their platsic is really basic crap. more like semi-vulcanized gloss ruber... i tried putting a bunch of the blue/orange stripe clones in plain white armor. the enamel spray i used turned into a sticky film even after drying....ruining all models!! (and i hate loosing clones...even one!) i accidentally pulled the Darth Maul champion super rare...with a real crap tattoo scheme, barely even accurate. my Testors master series re-touch paint job, brushed on, is somewhat sticky... and i really DO NOT expect acrylic to stick to that semi-gloss Hud. so, what can i try?
