  1. Thanks for the great review of the event. It's great to get public feedback and possitive feedback is all the better. I personally think that The crowd at FOPCON was awsome and they couldn't have given more praise about the Bones! I'm doing about 5 cons a year at this point but FOPCON is definitely a gem of a con.
  2. I just wanted to post some pictures of FOPCON 4's paint and take. FOPCON is a small local con but it is exceptionally well organized and has the feel of a much larger con. That is one reason that I keep coming back to run a Reaper paint and take event for them. This year was the best yet and it was made that much better because I got to see just how good the new Reaper Bones product really is. I know that I could have posted this in the Bones post but I didn't want it to get lost. The one thing i kept hearing throughout the whole thing was just how amazing the new bones line really is. Attendees could not believe the detail and the amazing way that the product took paint without any primer. When asked what prep I made, I replied "I just washed them with dish water." Below are some pictures of the event. There were several times that the table was jam packed but people still came just to check out Them Bones! 3. I have a few and will have them at the Reaper Paint and take I will be running at: http://fopcon.com/ I personally think they look fantastic and I have showed them to the gaming vender who will also be at FOPCON and he in is also very impressed with the quality and the price. He is very excited about the product and will be getting them in ASAP. He hopes to have the complete line in time for FOPCON. I also had a copy of Casket Works and showed him the upcoming release. He loves them both. I cant wait to see how they are recieved at the con.
  4. Wow! That is huge… I can’t imagine being in charge of something that big. Kudos to you. I wish I could have seen it.
  5. Who ran the paint table? It looks like everyone loved it.
  6. Pic's from DENCON in Granville... I drove 102 miles each way and ran the paint and take for 6 hours. I was my first time running an event for this con but they were a really great group and I'm definitly doing it again next year. http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc7/582661_394596413898400_100000441350690_1359340_1567620691_n.jpg http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/537936_394596457231729_100000441350690_1359342_1207840294_n.jpg http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/581026_394596497231725_100000441350690_1359343_1719403855_n.jpg http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/553766_394596527231722_100000441350690_1359344_1404199443_n.jpg http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/399020_394596593898382_100000441350690_1359345_1364636589_n.jpg http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/579170_394596650565043_100000441350690_1359346_1748537244_n.jpg
  7. Ok it's looking like the Mrs. Bluethunder will give the ok and I will be adding Dencon as a 5th con this year. it is April 7th Burton Morgan, Building Denison University 100 West College street Granville, Ohio. www.wix.com/dencon/2012 looking at stubdog's post I thought... what about setting up a laptop at the event and having attendees fill out the form when they sign in at the event. It becomes real time data collection. Currently, I favor taking pictures of my attendees durring the event. I have actually looked back and seen some people return year after year as well as see male vs. female attendees and relative ages. It is because of the photographic evidence combined with my recolections of the event that I tend to have a lot of figures that appeal to female and younger female painters that are new to the hobby.
  8. My attitude exactly. That's a big reason why i continue to do events for people. The people want us to do these kinds of things for them and I love doing it so "Heak Yea!" I'll keep doing it as long as my paints and minis last... it makes me feel good!
  9. Simply an oversight my lord... You and your dungeon of doom are now formally invited. I may even have another con for you to invade but it is short notice as they just aproached me on the 24th while at WITTcon. I think it's called DENCON and its just outside of Columbus but I'll have to check the info later today when I get home. It's in Two weeks and they said ther attendance should be about 140 or so.
  10. Here are some Photo's from the University of Daytons CON last February. I still do 4 cons a year on my own and I am thinking of adding a fifth. I guess I was a BL for so long I just can't quit even though the official program is gone. I continue to use all the stuff I used when I was a BL but I let the con organizers know that I am doing this unofficially at this point. If at some point in the future Reaper starts up a new program, I would love to be a part of it. Untill then I'll just keep on Keepin' the faith. http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/428124_363533040338071_100000441350690_1264177_2034299105_n.jpg http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/419882_363532903671418_100000441350690_1264175_655894750_n.jpg http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc7/423563_363532977004744_100000441350690_1264176_1341729907_n.jpg http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc7/424606_363533083671400_100000441350690_1264178_840320658_n.jpg http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/431731_363532847004757_100000441350690_1264174_730035208_n.jpg
  11. I don't know about every one else but I have just been continuing doing my thing unofficially. Here are a couple photos of my recent paint and take demo at WITTCON in Springfield, Ohio from march 24th. I will be at FOPCON this coming April 28th in Huber Heights, Ohio. http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/s320x320/562679_385429608148414_100000441350690_1329034_387079681_n.jpg http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/s320x320/564152_385429641481744_100000441350690_1329035_1841006031_n.jpg http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/s320x320/545614_385429664815075_100000441350690_1329036_674843106_n.jpg http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/s320x320/292654_385429698148405_100000441350690_1329037_1611880128_n.jpg http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/s320x320/546658_385429741481734_100000441350690_1329038_1574728950_n.jpg
  12. I'm always glad to see new players. I've recently started running a couple demo games again myself and with very few exceptions the game is always very well recieved.
  13. Pushing an oriental Warlord faction

  14. Without a logo on the front, I'd prefer the picture be on the front as well.
  15. That"s What I thought but I wanted to make sure... Thanks.
  16. Haven't played Crusaders for a while and I have a question. Does Divine Restoration under the Paladins of Light Doctrine allow casters like Sir Brannor with an SP: 3/6 to cast Touch of the gods.
  17. happy B-Day Bub! I'd bake a cake but I cook like an ogre!
  18. I thought so and It's probably way cheaper than a big hard bound book... Especially with rage cronicals on line with all the cards and erratta. that's just an opinion,... nothing official.
  19. I am totally stoked!!! All the models are out for the wulfys! No more proxy models!!!!
  20. I vote for a starter with a pocket sized rule book included. I wouild just love that!
  21. Ok, now I'm officially inspired! My wife is expecting our first and we have been debating how to paint the nursery. I think I'll have to go totally over the top now!
  22. The rule book is a bit out of date but it does gives you a lot of fluff that is fun to read and can be a help in deciding which faction you think is most interesting. It also contains the rules on force organization and game play... however you will want to down load the rage chronicles 2008 or perhaps soon 2009, as that will contain all the errata and data cards. Plus it also contains additional factions that have been added. As for me I would recommend one leader a multi-pack of melee grunts a couple of archers and a cleric or mage in one troop. I would also add a decent solo unit. If your leader has tactician that will give you three activation tokens or cards, plus you can get to experiment will all the aspects of combat in several small scale games. Your first opponent should also try to match that configuration. That will give you both the same options. Plus it shouldn’t be that expensive. One option that could save you a lot of time is looking at Reapers Legendary Encounters Pre-painted Plastics they have several warlord figures in the line, and I’ve just slapped a base on them and called them done in the past. It saves a huge amount of time.
