Here are some Astral Maulers I did up for Castlebuilder's sci-fi cavern crawl that will be ran at Origins this week. As these will be handled quite a bit, they are tabletop quality. If any of you get the chance to go to Origins, stop by and try out some of the events that are being ran by Castlebuilder and the Bears.

I should be there. Now I just need to figure out which Faction Castlebuilder wants to play.

I'll see if I still have any of the original pics of the 'marines.' If not, I'll try to take some new ones. The idea for using 'marines' came from the scenario where Halloween was trying to steal/destroy the presents and the "Toys for Tots" program of the USMC. So when the marines heard of the attack....

Sergei is in Columbus, though he has been busy for a while. Not sure of any of the other players in Columbus. You might check with some of the game stores (Ravenstone, Guardtower,etc.). Castlebuilder is in Ashland. I am in Ontario (Ohio). Usually we play at the Realm of Heroes in Mansfield (Warlord, Dungeon Crawls, Special Events*, and occasionally Reich of the Dead). We also have players from Galion, Mansfield, Mt. Vernon, Ontario, and Shelby. *

Ninja/Samurai.

An ornithopter. Add a set of wings (or two) along back end of flanged piece; a 'speeder-bike' type seat right behind the round end on the flanged part; control yoke/handles/bars coming up off the round end in front of the seat (w/in reach of rider/pilot); can either fill in sides of round end w/ 'fan blades', domes for 'eyes'/lights, or turrets for weapon mounts (not quite 360^ arc of fire for each, but then don't want to shoot yourself off your own ornithopter). Landing skids/legs optional. Or a sonic screwdriver.

This was my Koborlas list: Troop 1 Vasyl [w/ Ironhide and Doomcrier] Ragon x3 [w/ Ironhide and Magic Weapon] Linebreaker x8 Total: 999 points In the order played Scenario #3, "The Pheonix Rises" vs. Nefsokar: 19 - 1 [We were about even on speed, but the Lupines were able to absorb the damage they received a little better.] Scenario #2, "Pieces of Eight" vs. Elves: 11 - 9 [both of us initially had trouble making the checks for the treasure, but I got lucky and made three checks in one turn later on.] Scenario #1, "All Ashore" vs. Reptus: 15 - 5 [Though they couldn't move out of Deployment Zone until turn 2, the Lupines had enough speed to catch and overtake the Reptus.]

Yes, as the Guardian Beast is not part of Kristianna's troop. This is because it acts out of normal sequence when summoned. You did not mention it, but just in case anyone is wondering, your first set of defensive strikes could have targeted the models from Kristianna's troop that were in BtB with your big model instead of the 'Doom Kitty."

Some quick questions after scanning the scenarios: All Ashore: "Deployment: Each player deploys a maximum of 600 points of their force. Only complete troops (including Solos and Banded Troops) may be deployed." Question: What if a player is fielding a single troop that is over 600 points? "Reinforcements: Models not deployed during the deployment phase may begin coming ashore in Turn 2, and must come ashore as a full troop. Models may come ashore up to 10 base sizes at a time per Turn (where Standard = 1 base, Large and Cavalry = 2 bases, and Giant = 3 basses)...." Question: What if a player does not field any troops that are 10 or less base sizes? [Example - troop(s) consists of 11+ Standard bases; 6+ Large bases; Combination that exceeds 10...3 Large and 5+ Standard; etc.] Question: Some pieces of equipment require a model, namely the Familiar and Totem of Battle. How are these pieces of equipment to be handled? [Familiar(s) may put a troop over the 10 base sizes limit; Totem of Battle is not a troop; If only troop available to move Totem of Battle ashore consists of Large/Cavalry bases = 11 base sizes (8 + 3 ); etc.] "Scoring: ... All unearned points from the battle are split evenly." Question: To clarify, does this mean models still on board for both sides totalled, then the total split?

Unless it has changed, you should be able to add your forum handle to badge when you get to Reaper [worst case, there should be a space to write it on the badge].

Froggy got almost all of them. The chassis are indeed True Scale Badgers from CAV (transport uses parts from two of them), guns are from the CAV vehicles Nomad (Patrol Craft) and Sabre (Transport). The back part of the cockpit is the rear half of the True Scale Flail body. Weapon mounts are the 'can-openers ' from the Grays' blister. When I did them, I just grabbed the bits as remembered from CAV. So here are part numbers. Badger: 07117A Cockpit: 07069A and greenstuff Nomad turret: 07105 Sabre gun: 07068B Gray Aliens: 50243

While I was down at Artist Con, I finally got to see the Gray Aliens (#50243) Bob Ridolfi sculpted and decided they needed some way to get around once planetside. The first one is a patrol craft and the second is a transport. Gray Patrol Craft Gray Transport Craft

Idea 1: You could always convert her into a 'Cyber Reaver' Infiltration Unit (ala Terminator style). Little bit more cutting on her, replace some pieces with Reaver parts, and where the two styles meet, some thin layering of greenstuff to represent damaged flesh. Then add some possibly around lower legs/feet. Then when painting, add in the blood to the torn flesh/metal and maybe a red glowing eye. Idea 2: Turn her into a casualty marker/crawl casualty for triggering events/encounters or whatever. Idea 3: Put her on a slab/gurney/table where she is being operated on or tortured, w/ accompanying doctor or gloating/maniacal 'bad guy.'

Depending on exactly what you envision as an Andromedan Hound, here are some base model choices: 2710 Goblin Wolf 2754 Blood Wolf Moor Hound If you want it to look more 'normal' w/ four legs, I would suggest the Goblin Wolf. It also would require the least amount of work on the head. My preference would be the Blood Wolf, as it is more 'alien' (in H.Beam Piper sense) and has greater potential. You might have to do some work on the head, mainly the muzzle/snout if you want it more like the Andromedans. Different things that could be done, depending on taste: giving it a mane, smoothing out the body by getting rid of fur then giving it scales, using the mane along back as a sail-back similar to Dimetrodon, removing back mane altogether. It would come down to if you wanted it with fur/hair or 'smooth' hide. Moor Hound would be more like a mastiff and might require the most work, depending on how you wanted it to look. Each would require some greenstuff work, the amount would depend on what you want the finished result to look like. ********************************** The 'chair' could be used similar to Bioroid platform from Robotech or converted to resemble a STAP from The Phantom Menace (the flying sticks the droids were using). If you keep 'chair' right-side up, a gun/weapon could be mounted where the cushion is, facing the back of the cushion. This would represent a squad support weapon on a hover/anti-grav platform with the crewman following behind. Inverting the 'chair' (turning upside down) would provide the base/chasis for a flying drone (weaponry could be added).

Ask any Princess (or Empress), they always need/want a royal bodyguard / palace guard (Buck Rodgers, Tales of the Gold Monkey, etc.). Andromedan Hounds. Can use the Empress' 'chair' to make a 'hover disk' w/ model riding standing up or an automated weapons platform/drone.

I'll be there for the entire con, and don't have any classes scheduled, so I can do either day.
