  1. heres a trick to deal with archers that was used against me. it requires a preist/cleric with casting grade 3 and a mage with a casting grade of at least 2. you send the cleric 12 inches from the mage and use teleport who would move a total distance of 36 inches towards the arhchers, then have the mage used either fireball or firestorm to get as many archers as possiblefrom 18 inches away. this gives you a 52 inches threat range for dealing with those pesky buggers. Armies that can do this: -Reven: with their new warlord and yagun oog/lunk -overlords: Balthon and arik/kevis or even ashkrypt -crusaders: with the angel and Valandil (risky due to the angel being a solo) -nefsokar: fatima and netikerti -Mercenaries: lupine shaman and leisynn/eredain my example: i was playing against storminator with elves vs overlords. i hid my archers behind a hill and did massive volleys onto most of his troops. our battle raged on elves suffering great losses especially when he teleported kevis near my achers and had him cast fireball. i lost all but 3 archers and my cleric. -stormus
  2. the great thing about Warlord is its affordability. for those of us with little to no spending money the cost of this game is right in line with what I can afford to spend. I can use Dark Heven models I already have for proxys. I don't need more than ten pieces or so to play. I dont want different, better fancier data cards if they are just going to jack up the price of the game. I cant afford that. I want to play more, not pay more. J
  3. I have a total of 14 sections and I'm working on getting up to 21. Its about 16k unmodified. What I have so far: 2 70 dictators 4 scorpions 2 spartans 3 spiders 2 starhawk V 1 starhawk VI 1 regent 1 archer 1 thunderbird 1 revenant 1 puma 1 specter 1 gladiator 1 ghost 2 hunters 2 flails 4 tsuisekis 2 kharls 2 ghasts 4 manticores 2 lynxs 3 regular infantry 4 heavy infantry 3 heavy mortars I may have missed some because I'm not at home.
  4. Hello everyone, to clarify the warmaster in question. It started with frank and my dad shooting at each other. I then came over and killed my dads falcon with my scorpion and his mastadon with one of my 70's. My gladiator did five points to my dads archer and the other 70 Ifed the duelist for nothing. Next round after defensive fire I split my attacks on frank and my dad. I put my dad's deulist to 4 dts and had all four of my cavs crippled by everyone else. My dad killed one of my 70's frank got the other and my scorpion. And the other guy got my gladiator. Stormus

    Well unless there is design errata, the rules for missile packs is dfms can be at max +5/+3 and ifms max at +3/+5. this is from p.144 in the jor1. This makes me question the heavy mortars because of what it says on the page. Stormus

    well, the Reign XIV is a custom missle packthat was designed to do large amounts of damage the hard targets but minimal to soft targets. The armor increase sounds good and I'm thinking of making the Reign XIV +5/+0, because its initial idea behind it was the take on super-heavys. For the maralith I'll label the guns differntly yet keep the same stats (Model 7 Alphas). The minis forn both will be with me at origins and i'll be working on the third maralith there as well.     I'm in the middle of working on the fluff for both, which should be done right after origins. The maralith is the third prototype (it only needs to be assembled and painted) and the hurricane was my downgraded idea for a super-heavy cav. For the hurricane I wanted a cav with dfms that could mess with a rhino or any super-heavy (mainly my dads mastadon) and stay just out of range. The maralith is a gladiator-like cav with 4 dfms and good range. It was the first custom cav I did, and it went through three total stages so far. Stormus

    Hey guys I just finished two custom cavs and am wanting to run them by you. The first is the hurricane and the other is the KDM Maralith (its all KDM parts). I'm quite partial to missile packs as you can see. I'll post a picture of the Hurricane soon and i'm working on some fluff for both. The hurricane has custom made dfms.   11. Rhino-Tamer, from what I have seen and learned, the starter set is a good deal. But what I would do is get the dictator and replace the challenger with it. Then I would get the other units I wanted. Jeremy
  12. Hi Fara, I dont know what a Templars Black Knight is, so lets assume its a regular Knight(4DT). You then look at the ECCM Pod chart in the first JOR and see that its 29 points. The ECCM pod costs three power so at even damage track 0 you can't everything possible. Next you replace the power breeder to the Noltin 61b or any other breeder that provides enough power for tracks 0-2. This whole process takes a 259 point cav to 313 points. Jeremy
  13. Hey guys, from what I saw at reapercon and played at home IF is a scary thing to deal with. not only does it halt or destroy units it also has quite a range in some occasions. But for everything that was said about the starter army I have paid atention to and am trying to modify my force accordingly. Stormus

Some highlights of mine: -Playing warlord with Gaucho, Michael TLH, and many others -Sculpting class with Bobby Jackson and Jason Weibe and having Jester as a classmate -Meeting all of the Reaperfolk -Basing and painting some of the Warlord figs with Anne and some Reaperfolk -Meeting everyone that I did -Getting a signed Casketworks by the sculpters and Talin -The whole time in Texas
  15. Well from what I helped with at Reapercon, I learned that most of crusader leaders can cast spells but its kind of hard to pull them off in battle.
  16. As Milo sees the spider charge Boren, hes starts to cast an offensive spell ( ) to protect his newly aquanted comrade.

  23. Milo looks around trying to see who is following them, "I don't see any one, could it be her? ??? " He points to an old lady crossing the street( who looks extremely innocent)

  25. After Milo was set down he looks over to Wolheim and shudders at the sight of the two dogs. He then catches sight of the lovely girl and drools like a teenager.
