  1. I'll be there, and perhaps the wife will join as well. That is, unless the Army decides to screw me.
  2. So it looks like I will be going to Origins this year, and I am hoping for a Warlord tournament to be there.... Will there be one? (To those under a rock, or new to gaming: Origins is a large gaming convention, expected to see 14000 gamers this year. It is held in Columbus, Ohio, and it will be from June 28th to July 2nd. Origins main page) And, what kind of presence is Reaper going to have? I believe when I went in 03 there was a large one, and I might be mistaken, but I thought I saw Sandra Garrity there. And, if there is not a tournament planned, I'd be willing to help plan. I'm currently in Germany, so I won't be there until the con itself. I have designed and ran a tournament (Not for WL) so I have experience.
  3. Sending out review copies and adding some bulk to the warlord website are the cheapest, and the best way to advertise, I think. Afterall, If someone see's a favorable review to Warlord (which was a review copy, sent to X website) and then goes over each faction, seeing painted miniatures & also seeing a large amount of background...The sale is made is the person is interested enough, and has the funds. As it is now, the only review I found was a small one on The miniatures page, and there are no faction sections whatsoever to speak of. It makes it hard to get into the game. Doing those two things would be cheap, and the only recurrent cost would be the occasional review copy, along with the bandwidth needed to host the faction sections. Also, without the proper amount of self advertising the game on reapermini.com, one might think that the game isn't well supported. That was my first impression upon seeing the site.
  4. Does reaper do much advertising for Warlord? I haven't seen any. Nor have I seen any reviews on the gaming sites. And even on the reapermini.com site, I had difficulty figuring out what Warlord was. When I did, all I could then see was pictures of the various factions. Nothing close to background info. Is there a reason for this? What is the Warlord player strength like? From the forum, it seems a lot of the players are in Texas. (Which is good, being a displaced Texan) Does it compare to Warmachine in the number of players? I ask these questions because I'd like to know what to expect once I make my triumphant return to America in terms of Warlord players. -Wayne
  5. One thing I haven't seen in my browsing of the forums is talk of one of the factions being "broken" "beardy" or "cheesy." Is Warlord just that well balanced? Or perhaps it is the maturity level of the players who post?
  6. Hello everyone. After a 2 year hiatus to the world of miniatures, I decided to stay away from GW, and I don't like the look of Warmachine...But I do like the look of Warlord. My problem is that I can't seem to find any good background information on the game. Is there a page somewhere that details each faction, their strengths, weaknesses, etc.? By looks alone and peices of information I've put together, I'm leaning toward the Overlords. Is there a good page somewhere that details the faction? I like the look of the miniatures, but I haven't been able to find any good background. I would just go to my FLGS and see for myself, but serving in Germany makes that difficult. I hope I'm just not blind and am missing something obvious.
