  1. "You're safe an that's all that matters at the moment," Vitto says as he goes through the meager first aid kit. "You," he orders looking at the closest thug. "I need some hot water and any clean rags you can get. We gotta get some pressure on this or he's not gonna be collectin' the next paycheck."

Vitto looks down at the Irishman laying on the pooltable, " so we talkin' bullet, knife, what?"

  2. "I know a bit about it but there isn't enough experience among us to get her turned around and back to the docks," Yarrin says. "Besides, we might not get the warmest of welcomes back there. One or two of us could take the dinghy and get a crew from our benefactor."

  3. Ray smiles at the sheriff and says quietly, "you can count on knowing anything we find out. The only chance Arthur has is getting all the clues to this puzzel in the same place at the same time." He takes a long drink, "Do you happen to have any maps of the area that show just how the mounds are layed out? Maybe there's a hint there too. Heck, I don't know. Right now I'm baffled and that tends to put me on edge. Thank goodness for a bit of peace tonight though. I have a feeling that will be in short supply before this is all said and done."

  4. I like solutions 2 and 3 myself. The grenade launchers short have the short range because if you are going for a longer range just take mortar units. I'd also like to see infantry be able to 'take aim' and use a target lock action like any other unit in CAV. Even if they don't have targeting gear or such, infantry just stopping for a moment are going to hit a little more precise than the spray and pray method. And speaking of doing a little run and gun, infantry that RnG move either 0" or 1" (regular and armored respectively) under the current Run and Gun rules. I think that infantry might need a Run and Gun rule of their own such as double move -1" and can fire are -1 per weapon fired.

Wow, you'd think we'd played around with infantry tonight or something :upside:

  5. Vitto heads towards the back. From the sound of things it looks like even if they find the first aid kit they're more likely to do more harm than good.

"Gimme the dang thing and go watch the doors," Vitto says as he comes up on the man with the kit. "It don' look like your friend's gotta lotta time if we just keep on standin' here." Taking the first aid kit, he heads out to the wounded Irishman.

  6. "After you," Yarrin says wanting to make sure that Heleger is back to stable. "I think we're going to need Procan's blessing to keep this ship and get her back to her rightful owner. We've come most of the way now let's just hope He can give us that last little shove." Yarrin grins and follows Helegar up the ladder to face the next trial.

  7. Ray eases back and gazes around the room making sure that everyone is enjoying their drinks and not paying an excessive amount of attention to them. "I'll have the same. Something to ease the edge if you know what I mean." Ray waits a moment and then says, "Our friend isn't dead, at least not yet. And if I don't miss my guess I'd say you feel the same, sheriff."

  8. Sir Albrecht leaned forward shifting his weight in the wooden throne that Johnathan the carpenter had crafted for him. "You say that there has been a sighting of the Sacred Shield?" he asked of the ragged traveler before him. "You are certain that it was not just a well crafted peice of armor?"

The man furrowed his brow for a moment as if reliving the scene in his mind. "Well, Sire," he began slowly. "The guy I talked to said that he had heard from his cousin that one of his hired hands had spoke with a farmer that heard in a tavern that some black shield was seen not too far away." The man scratched his chin and nodded proud that he had remembered the tale.

Sir Albrecht sighed. This was reminiscient of many of the tales and rumors that he had followed on his original quest that had brought him to this land. The truth of the matter was that, despite the vagueness of this man's story, he was eager to explore this area in more detail. The small village had prospered and now resembled a proper town. With new people arriving from some of the more outlying areas perhaps it was time to settle this land for mankind once and for all. And the Onyx Shield awaited him as well.....

  9. Vitto nods as he tosses his piece in the bag as well. "Well I know I'd want everyone to know we're safe but ya know what they'd say if'n they knew exactly why we needed ta be safe ya know what I mean?"

  10. Most days are like all of the others,

Go to work, come back home, watch TV,

But, brother, if I had me druthers,

I'd chuck it and head out to sea,

For I dream of the skull and the crossbones,

I dream of the great day to come,

When I dump the mundane for the Old Spanish Main

And trade me computer for rum! ARRR!

    T' me,

    Yo, Ho, Yo, Ho,

It's "Talk Like A Pirate" Day!

When laptops are benches God gave us fer wenches,

And a sail ain't a low price ta pay!

When timbers are shivered and lillies are livered

And every last buckle is swashed,

We'll abandon our cars for a shipfull of ARRRs

And pound back the grog till we're sloshed! Yo ho....

Don't pick up yer phone and say "Hello,

    Our ten-o-clock meeting's delayed",

Ye scrunch up yer face and ye bellow,

    "AVAST! Ye've been bleedin' BELAYED!"

Ye can't keep this fun to yerself, I bet,

So sing "Aye!" "ARRR!" "Ayy!" every man!

We ain't got much grasp of the alphabet,

But a damn good retirement plan!

    T' me,

    Yo, Ho, Yo, Ho,

It's "Talk Like A Pirate" Day!

Whatever's in fashion is in for a thrashin'

    And bein' polite is passe!

When it's ev'ry man's duty to grab his proud beauty

And let out a hearty YO HO!

And if this offends you, hold y'r breath as we sends you

Ta Davy Jones' Locker ya go! Yo ho....

We'll tell every banker "Heave to and weigh anchor!"

Buy latte with pieces of eight

We'll fight to be chosen as cap'n or bosun

The loser, o' course, is worst mate!

When we hoist Jolly Roger, the landlubbers dodge 'er,

We fill 'em with loathing and fear,

We'll plunder and pillage each city and village,

Or at least clean out Wal-Mart of beer!

There ain't no computin' or morning commutin',

No "Parking Lot Full" signs for me,

No lawns ta be mowin' or bills to be owin',

I'm knowin' the pull of the sea.

The fresh salty brace of the wind on my face

    Through hurricane, sunshine or squalls,

I'm keepin' my eyes on the distant horizon,

Verizon can hold all my calls!

To wear a red coat full o' buckles,

To earn a few duelling scars,

Well, at least we can get a few chuckles

By filling the office with ARRRs!

And maybe we'll never get closer,

Than watchin' 'em on the big screen,

So here's to old Errol and Depp as Jack Sparrow,

And every damn one in between!

    T' me,

    Yo, Ho, Yo, Ho,

It's "Talk Like A Pirate" Day!

That time in September when sea dogs remember

That grown-ups still know how ta play!

When wenches are curvy and dogs are all scurvy

And a soft-wear patch covers your eye,

Ta hell with our jobs, for one day we're all swabs

And buccaneers all till we die!

So hoist up the mainsils and shut down your brain cells,

They only would get in the way,

Avast there, me hearty, we're havin' a party,

It's "Talk... Like... A Pirate" Day!

    As done by Tom Smith

  11. "Yeah, Joey. Nice thinkin'," Vitto says smiling at the driver. He feels the same drain as his brother does but it seems that despite the exhaustion his muscles won't relax. "Well let's head back and see just how fast news spreads."

  12. "Nah, they didn' get a piece, Bro. Your right that the Don will be clear of those two," Vitto replys. "In fact I bettin' that anyone with a thought of tryin' ta hedge in on the Don's turf will be thinkin' again."
