Hey All, The Asylum is pretty much back to normal operation. Paint Club will continue as normal. The tournaments will start again the first weekend of June. I will post more about these at a later date. Thanks, Mark

Hey All, Concerning the Winds of Magic scenario, only the damage caused will be doubled or negated, not the range or area of effect. To address the game play of the scenarios, all of the scenarios have been playtested over an extended period of time with every faction possible. Any problems that we could find have been corrected to the best of our ability and I would ask that you play the scenarios to get a feel for them. If you have any questions concerning the gameplay, feel free to PM me and I will be more than happy to answer them. Thanks, Mark

Hey All, On the Winds of Magic scenario, this "3-4 The storm has temporarily subsided. All magic and healing work as normal." should read "3-8 The storm has temporarily subsided. All magic and healing work as normal." Regarding the scenario "Here Froggy, Froggy", the player who's turn it is will have his opponent control the frogs (ie. roll dice for attacks). The two players on the table will track wounds and any other pertinent information pertaining to the frogs on their own. If you have any more questions about the scenarios please let me know. We will get the Winds of Magic scenario changed this week to read properly. Thanks, Mark

Hey All, As some of you may have heard, we are running monthly Settlers of Catan tournaments up here at the Asylum. If you haven't heard about it, every 3rd Saturday each month we are holding a Settlers of Catan tournament that is open to anyone who wants to play. The winner of each tournament will then be eligible to play in the Tournament of Champions in December. There will be 4 monthly winners and 4 players chosen at random from those who attended the monthly tournaments invited to play. You can win as many of the monthly tournaments as you want but you can only get one spot in the Tournament of Champions. If someone wins more than one tournament the second place player will then be awarded the seat. Each tournament consists of 3 games and the player with the most accumulated points wins. Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place. Now, some of you may be wondering what you get if you win the Tournament of Champions. We have managed to get our hands on one of the Settlers of Catan 3D Collector's Edition Box Sets which we will be giving away as the Grand Prize. This is an incredible set that has 3D pieces for Settlers of Catan as well as Cities & Knights of Catan. We will also have drawings for other great items at the Tournament of Champions so even if you are not playing I encourage you to come. There are two more tournaments remaining so I encourage you to come on out and play. The winners of the previous tournaments and the dates of upcoming tournaments are posted below. August: Ishan Khan September: Micheal Kielty October: October 20th November: November 17th Tournament of Champions: December 15th (tentative) If you have any questions you can post them here or PM me and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks, Mark

Hey All, The next Warlord tournament here at the Asylum will be Sep. 29th. Sign ups will start at 10:00 and the first round will start at 12:00. This will be a 2 on 2 format where you and a partner of your choosing will fight side by side. The rules for the tournament are as follows: 1. Each team must consist of factions that can work together. (ie. good/good, good/neutral, neutral/neutral, neutral/evil, evil/evil) 2. Each player will have a 1000pt army list for his faction. 3. While mercenaries will be allowed, there will be NO Freelance lists. 4. While you and your partner are a team, your list will be chosen as if you were playing by yourself. 5. I will review all lists before the tournament starts for any errors. 6. I am also going to discourage teams from bringing lists that will be considered by other players as unsportsmanlike. If list like this are presented I will reserve the right to ask you to modify your list. 7. Each team will have an amount of initiative cards placed in the game equal to the player with the most unit activations. Only one tactician card will be put into play for each combined army. No limit on the number of spy cards. During play, when your team's initiative card is drawn, both players will activate a unit. This will allow for a fast flowing game that could have the possibility of great charge combinations. 8. The tournament will be 3 rounds and will consist of all new scenarios. 9. Prizes will be awarded as a team. 10.Come play and enjoy what I feel will be a great tournament. 11.If you cannot find a partner, come up that day and we will make sure that we get you a partner and get a chance to play. If you have any questions let me know and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks, Mark

Hey Everyone, Due to the Labor Day Holiday, we are going to push the Asylum CAV tourney back 1 week to September 8th. We will post more details tomorrow or Thursday with the exact list size and type of tournament that will be run. If you have any questions feel free to post them here or PM me and I will get you an answer. Thanks, Mark

The question here is are you going to play freelance and if you are you must take the highest point non-leader model that currently exists for Warlord. One clarification that needs to be made is that you must bring your highest point non-leader model in your faction. Eventhough a model may have outrider it is still classified as a leader model if it is a Warlord, Captain, or Sargeant and cannot be taken to fill this roll. So no, you cannot take Rautharos as the highest point model requirement. Mark

Hey Everyone, Sorry about the late post but it's been a little busy around here. This Saturday, we will be holding a Warlord Tournament. The tournament will be 2000 pts and you must bring the highest point non-leader model in your faction list. That would mean the angel for Crusaders, Mossbeard for the Elves, etc. If you do not have the model, you will be allowed to proxy it with a suitable Reaper mini on the correct base or we will have glue ready for you if you decide to pick one up before the tournament. Barring any unforseen problems, there will be three new scenarios for your enjoyment. Sign-ups will start at 11:00 and the first game will start promptly at 12:00. I look forward to seeing everyone there. Mark

On July 21st, the Asylum is hosting a Settlers of Catan tournament. We are hoping to make this a monthly tournament event at the Asylum. The tourney will consist of 3 games and the winner will be determined by the total number of points gained over those three games. As an added bonus, the winners of our monthly tournaments will be invited to play in a tournament of champions game in December for a very nice prize. Along with these five monthly winners, one person will be chosen at random from all of the players that did not win to compete in this tournament. Sign-ups will start at 10:00 and the first game will start at noon. If you have any questions you can PM me and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Mark

I would like to thank everyone for their support of Jasco Games. As Stubbdog said, we are not closing due to money problems or lack of customer support. Sadly, there are those out there that feel keeping a store front vacant for a tax break or their beliefs that the gaming community is not a positive part of society are more important than a safe place for the kids of that same community to go. As of right now, my business partner and I have agreed to take a step back and evaluate what we did right and wrong with Jasco Games and look at how we can improve the store for our customers. Our plan at this time is to re-open Jasco Games. I will keep everyone posted on any new developments. I thank you again for your prayers and support. Mark Kielty Owner Jasco Games

I want to thank everyone that came out to Jasco yesterday for the Warlord tournament. We had 20 players show up which helped make this a great day. I would like to give a special thanks to Wild Bill and Micah for making the trip down from Oklahoma. I played Wild Bill in the third round and it turned out to be a great and bloody battle. Look forward to another game soon. Congratulations to Gus Landt, Darren Puryear, and Derek Ogletree for taking our top three spots and Paul Coxe for winning best painted. Also to my son, Sean, for having some of the worst dice of the day and still maintaining a positive attitude. He was the receipient of the Murphy's Luck award. Jason, thanks for the use of your terrain. I think the addition of your terrain pieces helped provide for some exciting games. Now that all the games have been played, I ask that everyone register their games on the Warlord website. The store to register games under is Game Exchange. If you need anyone's ID numbers you can PM MadPat or Me (Vorchil) and we can get you those numbers. Last, I want to thank Mad Pat for running another great tournament and Michael for providing such great prizes. I look forward to running many more events with y'all in the near future. Again, thanks to everyone for coming and I look forward to more great tournaments in the future. Oh, and sorry about the air. Mark Kielty aka Vorchil Jasco Games

As far as the scenarios go I have no control, but in my opinion, I really don't think that Mad Pat is going to come up with scenarios that will favor any specific faction or cause undue stress on any player. I do have control over the use of the Nefsokar book though, and after listening to everyone's opinions, I agree that some players will have an unfair advantage. So we will NOT be using the new Nefsokar rules. The book will be on hand however for those of you who would like to take a look at it. Now, can we all focus on getting ready to welcome our neighbors from the north and have a great tournament. There will be some really nice prizes and I am sure that everyone will have a good time. Wild Bill, If you would, please private message me or call me at the store and let me know the names and factions of all of the players that are traveling down with you. If anyone else has not signed up or you need directions on how to get here, please call me. I have enough room for 24 players and while I don't think we will have a problem with spots, I would still like to have an idea of how many people will actually be here. Thanks, Mark Kielty aka Vorchil Owner Jasco Games 2240 Morriss Rd. Ste. 110 Flower Mound, Texas 75028 972-355-5380

Wild Bill, We have never run a tournament here for Warlord using any type of scenarios in the past and most people that play up here on a regular basis just play last man standing wins. As far as the scenarios that Mad Pat has in mind, he has kept these a secret from everyone. Hopefully this helps. Mark Kielty aka Vorchil Owner Jasco Games
