Sandcasting Foam Terrain
Mr.Wizard replied to TaleSpinner's topic in Conversions, Presentation, and Terrain
I'm getting the stuff together for a moon-mining diorama, and this would great for representing the tough lunar regolith. -
Dang, I never knew Santa was such a Bada$$!

Professor L. T. Froschmeister and his Disturbing Rifle
Mr.Wizard replied to Froggy the Great's topic in Show Off: Painting
I like the cranial suture on Herr Professor. -
I guess the blade could use a good honing, but other than that, he's one dashing fellow! Nice work!

Aliens in High Heels, The Hugbot, Monsters

The 2nd-to-last critter looks like something out of H.R. Puffinstuff. The Kroft brothers would be proud! -
I remember a game called Pokethulu, might be worth a look.

Hey John, I'm doing acrylics, mostly Liquitex and Dick Blick. I am super-new at blending, so I want to start applying this to minis, because I see the amazing results you guys get with blending. (the preceeding was a run-on sentence) Hey Sarge, thanks for the feedback on the blue colors. The starfield was done in two parts. First, I used a poor unsuspecting toothbrush to fling thinned paint on the canvas. Then I went in a more carefully painted indicidual stars in different colors.

Looking for terrain and buildings

You should check out the Domus kits from Spain. The bridges scale well with Reaper figs and are composed of real bricks. -

Hi all, I've done minis and models, and wanted to try my hand at canvas. I'm still learning to blend, and thought you guys might like to view and comment. Enjoy!

The hair just says, 'Dread Alert!', and the skin is beautiful.

I can't get the theme song from 'Wonder Woman' out of my head....... The boots evoke a 70s funky bass line. Seriously, though, great paint job. Love the eye shadow.

Dass ist aber wunderbar, mein herr. Field Marshall Froggy has done it again!

You guys need to go back to the early 80s, for some really ripe cheese: "Hawk The Slayer", and "Rock 'n Rule" Do not pas go, do not collect $200; obtain and see these movies at once. Rock 'n Rule was actually ahead of it's time, but did not see critical acclaim. Hawk the Slayer was a movie-of-the-week in England, and co-stars an embarrassed Jack Palance.

Hey, I'm lovin' the green corrosion on the dude. Seriously nice work.

I guess glowing LED pasties are right out?
-
I don't know how you did it, but the PJs actually have a flannel texture to them. This is accentuated by the little flowers. Kewl!
-
Oh, man. This mini is 'off the chain'. The gem is rockin' and I dig the writing on the scroll. Did you use a wet-blending technique on the gem?
-
Hey, I'm lovin' that base. Nice work.

Reaper 02035: Gwendalyn the Healer by Sandra Garrity

I like the rich saffron color on the dress. Nice choice! -
Ok, so I'm looking through my Foster & Smith catalog of aquarium goodies, and found some things that scream gaming terrain. Think of these decorations as items that can be painted, chopped, modded, lighted, hotrodded(!), and even flocked with ground foam, sand or gravel. I looked at a few of the item descriptions are made of polyurethane, which means good ol' Gunze Sangyo Mr. Resin Primer should work on them. The possibilities are endless, and I'm totally going to get some of this stuff and start tinkering. Here is a link for your consideration: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/fish-supplie...578/20750/10711 If you already have experience with this stuff, then kudos to thee; just sharing a discovery. Have fun!
