  1. He's pole hugging of course. Can't you see the love in his eyes? The figure does look a little off but he was fun to paint up. The pack comes with a horn blower and an extra banner and horn by themselves so you could convert another mini or play a capture the flag game of Warlord. Laters, Steve P. Fantization Miniatures
  2. Standards are a great way to practice painting on a flat surface, enjoy. Steve P.
  3. Thanks for the comp. Do you mean highlight the fur or the armor? The fur is acually highlighted with a bit of yellow added to the brown in a few layers but my camera doesn't pic yellows very well. Thanks again Prophet.
  4. Hey All - This guys been sitting on my painting desk since he came out. I tend to throw minis on my desk that I want to paint, next thing I know it's buried in unopened minis and I have to clean it up (vicious cycle). If I really like it I usually open it up like I did for this guy. Anyway he painted up very fast and easy. Fun miniature to paint to, enjoy.
  5. I just finished this guy. Very cool sculpt. He comes with three different heads to choose from but I opted to go with a GW Chaos Helmet. I've got two Werner Klocke pieces lined up next. Enjoy. Steve P.
  6. I do primer with white and I do like brighter colors. But he's not painted with any flourescents, looks normal on my monitor so I'm not sure. I Auto Level and Auto Contrast in Photoshop and I have a new photo box/ light set up for better images. I'm not sure? I do know my Nikon is a bit funky with yellows, it either doesn't catch them over seems to over saturate the color. Thanks... Yeah it's been in the 100's here with the heat and even in the AC the paint was drying fast. Thanks, yeah the base was fun to do. The coins look really good in person but with the macro pics you can see they're beads a little easier so it loses a little effect.
  7. Thanks for the comp. Yeah I know what you mean on the pics... if you see it in person the coins look really cool, not like tiny beads. As for the color scheme I wanted a "Thieves World" look to him. Studded leather is really cool looking for thieves. Laters and good luck on yours.
  8. Hey All - Here's a new mini I just finished. I sculpted the cobblestone base and the pouch that's spilled out with "his" coins. Looks like he failed his Pick Pocket roll. Enjoy, Steve P.
  9. I picked up some brass etchings from a company in Washington. The sites called www.ngineering.com, nice guy and fast delivary. Think he mentioned he was the exlusive importer or something like that. Later, Steve P. Fantization Miniatures
  10. Thanks for the comps every one... yeah I think the camera focussed on the front of the axe. I have a close up of his face but it just didn't fit in with the final image so I left it out. But here it is below. His eyes are way up in there but it's a clean casting so they're easy to paint. Yeah I've been popping in the FreeBooter forums too. I seem to always want to paint WK sculpts no matter who they're for. I'm going to be doing a Cell 1999 mini by Werner after Games Day this early April. I'll post pics her sometime in April. Later all... Steve P. FM Thanks for the comps every one... yeah I think the camera focussed on the front of the axe. 11. I love the way Werner sculpts his dwarves. I've painted a couple of them up recenelty and they've been fun projects. I originally was going to have Hagar standing in snow, hence the red nose but went to grass to give the browns a little more contrast. I hope you enjoy him. Steve P. Fantization Miniatures
  12. Thanks... not sure why it posted twice. I didn't submit it twice, thanks again Herr.
  13. I really loved this mini at first, then started painting her and was disgusted with how crazy the sculptor got with the cloth weaving in and out of her body. To top that off she's a very tiny sculpt all around. Her face was tough but I painted that first and once I finished that it was pretty much a down hill painting. I went with the pink scheme to give her a real feminine look. Now that she's finished I really like her again. Enjoy. Not sure why but this post got all messed up???
  14. Yeah I know what you mean about painting faces under hoods. The thing is the right eye is smaller then the left eye, so either way the left will look larger whether I made the pupil smaller or not. Some times you just have to do your best with what you have to work with. I like the finished painting but it's the pose that really inspired me to paint the mini. My color scheme was based on using browns as the primary colors. Thanks Ixminis. Steve P. FM
  15. His leg is under there properly. Look at the two leather straps around his left thigh... right under there you see the checker pattern on top part of his left boot.
  16. Hello All - This is a finished painting of an unreleased Thief mini sculpted by Matt Gubser. I was able to aquire a copy through the local Thieves Guild so please don't ask me where I got him. Hopefully it will be released some day because he's a really dynamic miniature. I based him on a plastic calvary base and sculpted the rest of the base with "Green Stuff" to finish it off, enjoy.
