  1. Great to hear~ If you have any issues you can send it in and we will go through the entire brush and bring it to spec at no charge to you and pay the postage to send it back. There were several we have encountered with "stuck" pieces. Stay safe
  2. Thank you. I will say you and CAV 2 fans are now, and will always be welcome. You are and have been one of the greatest fans ever. This is a difficult situation to navigate. I encourage you to continue promoting CAV 2 or anything you want to do, it's your time and hobby. There are plenty of venues available to promote CAV2 away from these forums. CAV:SO is what resources and money are currently being poured into and that is what has to be the focus of our's and Talon's efforts. I hope that you will understand this. If you have any questions or comments post here or email me. [email protected] Best wishes, Ed Pugh
  3. So TPTB are adamantly against players sharing their house rules? Is this to be a blanket ruling applied to everyone? Or just levied against content related to previous versions of CAV or specific people? To clarify my position: Ed, I wasn't referring to you telling Vil to stop posting links to copyrighted materials that Reaper doesn't own. I'm sure that he didn't realize that he was breaking forum rules. But the rest of what you said; the four paragraphs surrounding the point that posting copyrighted material on dropbox is not acceptable, is just static that gets in the way and could have been left out entirely, or delivered privately. Thank you for your comments. To answer why here? I like to be transparent. I would have said the same thing in private. Problem is that as changes here are made and public questions asked, answers crafted, things posted etc... Why not just put it here. To answer if we are adamantly against the promotion or sharing of fan/player based house rules? No. It is what it is, and the environment is what it is. Obviously we are a commercial entity and need to promote the new version, edition, release design of a new product. I wrote CAV 2 with Michael. I think it is a great set of rules. Now there is a new edition. We will get behind CAV:SO 110% Promote CAV 2 all you want, there are 1st and 2nd edition D&D and AD&D societies that promote what they want to play. Please do not cause confusion and hinder our efforts to promote and grow a product line. To answer why didn't CAV Boss (Jon) take care of this? My show, my rodeo, my problem. I apologize if my post struck you wrong, sounded condescending, or was rude. That was not my intention. I am simply attempting to guide a delicate situation to a safe landing with no drama. We have known each other a long time and my reputation in forums precedes me so I am doing my best.
  4. Greetings Vil-hatarn, I have reviewed your efforts and they are impressive, however you are confusing new players to the CAV universe and we get several each week emailing us with questions. Some believe that any fan can create a CAV mecha game and use all of the IP and art in their new creation. Some are confused about the differences between the book the just ordered and received versus the free download they now find in the forums. Some are just lost and want to get into CAV and desire guidance as what to do, get and go. Now I will be the first to say that CAV has had a worse life than Oliver Twist and has not been treated properly by Reaper. The reasons for this are many, but primarily it was due to a lack of wisdom and understanding on our part. As anyone reading this is aware, the fans never gave up on CAV. To that end, one of CAVs biggest fans, CAV Boss, approached us about purchasing the line, miniatures, all IP and art. He was not the first person to do so and the price was significant. He was the the one that paid it. I can tell be reading your many posts about CAV and all things Reaper that your intentions are simply fan driven so I am making this a simple public request. CAV now has a new owner and a chance to go to the top. CAV Boss has both the resources and the time to solely focus on getting the job done. Your efforts are hurting CAV's rebirth. We took the CAV 2 link down for a reason. Your reposting it to a public drop box without permission is unacceptable. Posting your version of CAV, rules, data and interpretations in various threads is also unacceptable. I am asking you to refrain from doing this in the future. Creating universes and rule sets to play games in them is fun. If you wish to continue that I would suggest you do so with a new IP that you create. Terms and rules for things like target lock, armor defense and so on are more than common and not unique to any game so you would be able to create your game with few restraints. You might also consider Kickstarter for funding. If you have any questions please post them here or email me [email protected] best,
  5. Look at 74041 - Black - Flat - No Slot - Round 20mm Game Base best,
  6. It's almost as if they aren't ready to launch yet... Which is why I'm bringing them up now. And I thank you. It is up early to hear exactly this type of information best,
  7. Your post will not be removed :) I'm sorry you feel this way. I will repost my answer to you in another forum: "I created the entire universe and wrote most, if not all of the text in the original CAV book. Concerning CAV designs? There were several people involved in that. The Rhino is a perfect example. We had Jamie VanShaik simply creating mech parts and sending them down to us. I assembled the first Rhino using a set of legs and a torso. I sculpted from scratch the arms, missile packs and hip joints. I still have the original sculpture. James Burrell later created the 3d model from my sculpture that used some of Jamie's pieces. Who gets credit on the blister card as sculptor? James, as it is the 3d model we are selling. All CAVs were created with my personal input, design and approval. Was James and everyone in the past credited for their contributions? Yes. And this brings me to the CAV:SO credit page itself. It is a simple and basic presentation. Did Jon do the Graphic Design and Layout? yes It was decided to go with a minimal credits presentation. This decision was made by me. CAV:SO is a new beginning. There is not a category for "Game Development", which would have covered all sorts of things such as design and creation contributions. Countless people have made all sorts of contributions to CAV and now CAV:SO. I believe, and I might be wrong, but there were only 4 pieces of art carried over to the new book from old CAV files. Also, as far as I am aware, ALL artist, writers and anything developed as official canon for CAV have been paid in full for their services." Thank you and as always I am available for questions like this. best,

  9. I would like to clarify what is happening and make sure we are all on the same sheet of music. Warlord is still an active line and not going anywhere. - Herzog is simply been given permission to use the RAGE Engine that powers Warlord and will change it to suit their needs. - We have always freely allowed developers to use our models in their world and can rename them etc. - Use of the IP associated with Warlord (Name, Characters, World etc.) Have not been granted or licensed to anyone for use. - All Warlord books are still in print. - All models are still being produced. - Herzog Games is not associated with Hobby-Q/Reaper in any way and this is not a partnership to develop a new game. best,
  10. Man we can't get them so there is no way to pass it on, much less in writing. After this is over we will do a vid or update and discuss this adventure further. All I can say is if you think this industry is bad about deadlines. We were told in September of last year the pathway would be open into Canada by November and we could move through shipments at our leisure. I apparently forgot to ask which year that November would be in :) No plan survives first contact with a government official... best
  11. Send one to me: [email protected] Put your Olaf the Stout name in the subject matter. I get 200 emails a day and read quickly with a delete key :) I usually clear traffic in the afternoon and will route appropriately. We have been using everyone in the building, including front office people, out in the gallery to process orders. Its just the way it is at the moment. I will not be in on the fourth but will check email at some point. Thank you Best
  12. Space is very tight at ReaperCon, especially this year with the post KS crowd signing up so if this is something you are interested in doing you need to get with Bryan ASAP as he is the ruler of all spaces at ReaperCon. best Ed
