  1. I have one of the modern weapons packs and I'm wanting to change one of the weapons on a figure to one of the weapon pack pieces.  My question is how to do it as the modern weapon has a hand ans something of a "post".  Obviously I cut the miniature at the wrist, but do I cut the new weapon at the wrist and pin it or do I leave the post and drill a hole in the mini's arm large enough to fit it?

“Keane’s blood!†Vasyl swore.  “How can a race be so stubborn?â€

Vasyl and his pack had been tracking a group of slavers out of Crackow, when one of his scouts had discovered a pass that would let them get ahead of them.  The path lead them to the ruins of an ancient temple and a group of Dwarves.  The Dwarves immediately odered Vasyl and his pack to leave the area.  Vasyl tried to explain that the Koborlas had no interest in what the Dwarves were doing, but the Dwarven King, Thorgram Grimsteel, was adamant; leave or die.  Again Vasyl swore in frustration and then nodded to Corm.  Corm’s warpipes began their mournful wail and the Korborlas began their charge.

As the Korborlas began to move, Takhi took a moment to focus his magic and cast a spell on Vasyl’s troops that would let them move faster.  Much to his surprise though, instead of feeling a rush of magic as the spell was cast he felt it just dwindle away.  At the same time, Thorgram ordered his troop to begin moving forward, while the Stone Spirit that Magara Firetongue had summoned, sank into the ground and began it’s hunt.

As the armies towards one another, Magara Firetongue cast a spell upon the crossbow of the dwarven piercer close to her, embueing it’s quarrels with explosive qualities.  The piercer then fired into Kainus and his men, wounding Kainus and killing one of his warriors.  Meanwhile Takhi had spotted a disturbence in the ground near Vasyl and his troops.  He quickly cast Exhume on the area and was rewarded for his efforts when the Stone Spirit was forced to the surface.  Seeing the Stone Spirit rise up out of the ground, Vasyl and his some of his men charged forward to engage it.  Corm acted quickly as well and cast Mire, using his familiar as his eyes.  With the Stone Spirit stunned by Corm’s magic, the Rageclaw Sentry with Vasyl landed several heavy blows on the it, but was unable to damage it.  Vasyl also launched a series of blows at it, but only one landed and did any damage. Taking advantage of Vasyl’s preoccupation with the Stone Spirit, Thorgram had his Bear Riders flank Vasyl’s troops and go after Corm, while he and one of his mancatchers attacked Vasyl.  One of his warriors also went after the Sentry next to Vasyl.  As Vasyl and Thorgram exchanged blows, one of the Bear Riders savaged Corm.  Corm managed to land a blow on the Bear Rider before he went down though.  Scenting blood, the Spirit Wolf charged the wounded Bear Rider, savaging him.  Meanwhile, Takhi cast the spell Hailstones at Fulumbar and two of his men.  The spell caught Fulumbar and one of his warriors, but other escaped unharmed.  At the same time, one of the Line Breakers put a bolt into a Bear Rider.

As this was happening, more of Thorgram’s men flanked Vasyl’s troop and took out one of his Rageclaw Warriors.  His Bear Riders sacrificed themselves to kill Vasyl’s other Warrior and the Spirit Wolf.  Kainus and his troop charged the Dwarves on Vasyl’s flank, killing one of them while one of Takhi’s Wargs killed the other.  Vasyl’s Sentry helped him to destoy the Stone Spirit’s physical form as he swung at it and Thorgram.  Thorgram collapsed from his, but Vasyl’s Ironhide Armor absorbed the force of Thorgram’s blows, allowing him to remaining bloody, but still standing.

With Thorgram down and most of his men dead, Kainus and his men charged Fulumbar’s lone piercer, while Takhi cast Ironskin on Vasyl to protect him from Thorgram’s remaining men.  Fulumbar reacted by charging the a Rageclaw Warrior, while Magara cast Wall of Fire on Kainus and his remaining trooper.  The spell set Kainus ablaze, but the Rageclaw Warrior managed to avoid it.  Fulumbar’s charge brought down the Rageclaw warrior, but it got a strike in on him allowing one of Takhi’s wargs to finish the job.  Takhi, in the meantime, cast Dispel upon Kainus to put out the fire and one of his Line Breakers fired a bolt into Kara Foehunter.

With all of the Dwarven leaders down, Magara Firetongue signaled the Dwarves to withdrawl.

  3. Hi,

I was looking at the Cowboys and Gunslingers rules and I have a couple of questions.

    The SA Reload/# says

This weapon may reload /X rounds per activation.

This SA can be use twice in one activation

Does this mean that it takes x rounds to reload that weapon after firing it?  Also is Reload considered to be a specialty action?

“Fools.† Vasyl snarled as he saw the dwarves enter the ruins of the old temple.  Vasyl didn’t know what dark spirit had been worshipped in this place, but it’s presence could still be felt.  The dwarves had been warned to stay away, but they had come anyway.  With that thought, Vasyl signaled his troops to begin the attack.

Kainus and his warriors immediately took the right flank followed by a Spirit Wolf.  Meanwhile Takhi sent his Line Breakers to take cover in the center and Vasyl and his warriors headed to the left where King Thorgram Grimsteel led his dwarves.  A Kainus and his warriors drove forward, a group drwarves calling themselves the Keg Runners rushed to meet them.  As they approached, the leader, who was carrying a keg as well as a weapon, cried out “First to draw blood gets to crack open the keg!† This seemed to spur his men on and they crashed into Kainus and his warriors.  Unfortunately for the Keg Runners, Kainus and his warriors were unimpressed and made short work of them, their leader being one of the first to fall.

On the other side of the field, Vasyl and his warriors charged towards the dwarven king, aided by Takhi magic.  Thorgram, however, had learned his lesson from his previous encounters with Vasyl and fell back as the Korborlas charged and then changed course and charged Vasyl’s troops, wiping them out and leaving Vasyl to face the dwarven king and his troops practically by himself.  His warriors did manage to wound some of the dwarves, including Thorgram.

At the same time, the Stone Spirit rose from the ground and attacked Kainus’ warriors, while Fulumbar Ironhammer led his warriors against the Spirit Wolf.  The battles were fierce as Kainus’ warriors tried to destroy the Stone Spirit’s physical form and Fulumbar and his warriors tried to do the same to the Spirit Wolf.  In the end it was the Spirit Wolf that was vanquished from the field of battle, but not before he grievously wounded Fulumbar.

Vasyl seeing a chance to take down Thorgram, charged the dwarven king.  At the same time, Corm’s familiar raced up and Corm was able to cast his magic through the familiar and summon molten earth from the ground.  Unfortunately it didn’t help as much as Corm had wanted, it only wounded a Bear Rider and killed one of the dwarves with Thorgram.  Vasyl’s attack left Thorgram badly wounded, but the dwarven king’s counterattack left Vasyl just as badly wounded.  Seeing Vasyl’s predictament, Takhi cast Iron Skin to try and protect Vasyl.  Again Vasyl and Thorgram traded blows.  The Iron Skin spell and Vasyl’s Ironhide armor protected him and Thorgram’s own stubbornness kept him upright.  In the end it wasn’t enough and as Vasyl turned to face the dwarven king, a lone dwarven warrior managed to slip behind him.  As Vasyl fell to the ground he managed to kill the dwarf who had struck him.

A great howl went up from the Koborlas as they saw their leader collapse.  The remaining Koborlas leaders quickly yielded and Thorgram allowed them to collect their wounded and dead and retreat from the battlefield.

    Pics to follow.

Vasyl stared at the empty village in front of him and felt his hackles rise up. They had tracked the Exiles and their werewolf allies to this village, but it did not appear that were here any longer. The only inhabitant seemed to be the lone duck that sat on the roof of one of the houses. The duck, which from Vasyl’s view seemed to have horns, disturbed him. Corm and Takhi claimed that it was the strange rune stones that rose up from the ground on either side of the village that were causing the unease. A sudden movement on the other side of the village caught Vasyl’s eye. A war party of dwarves came into view as the exited the hills.

“I am Freya Fangbreaker!” Shouted a female dwarf in Mithral armor. “I am here to make you pay for your assault upon our King!”

“Your King foolishly got in our way!” Vasyl replied, as Takhi and his Line Breakers took cover. “Do not make the same mistake!”

Freya’s answer was to send Gargam Heavyhand forward with his Swiftaxes.

Vasyl responded by sending his wargs and Kainus’ troop to sweep around the right side of the tower in the center of the village while he and his men charged towards the dwarven piercers in an attempt to close before they could get any shots off. Meanwhile Ivar Silverfist began chanting while Freya and her soldiers moved to try and intercept Vasyl and Durgam Deepmug moved towards the wargs.

Dwarven crossbows twanged as several of the wargs came into the piercers view and one of the wargs collapsed as a quarrel struck its heart. In the chaos of the charge, no one noticed that various stones and boulders had been moving towards one another. As Silverfist finished his chant there was a roar and a Stone Spirit stood on the battlefield. It quickly burrowed as it moved towards the impending combat.

Vasyl’s troop slammed into the dwarven piercers line and quickly killed most of them. Freya and her men arrived seconds later and she was able kill one of Vasyl’s warriors in turn. At the same time, Durgam Deepmug found himself surrounded by the wargs. Fortunately he was able to hold them at bay, wounding one, until Gargram Heavyhand and his Swiftaxes arrived. As the Swiftaxes attacked the wargs, Kainus and his soldiers arrived. The two groups fought fiercely, but in the end Kainus and his soldiers had won, though not without cost.

Meanwhile Takhi and his Line Breakers had moved close enough for the Line Breakers to fire their crossbows and for Takhi to use his magic. A massive quarrel from one of the Line Breakers crossbows caught one of the dwarves in the chest, while another was wounded when a magically created hailstone slammed into him. As this was happening, Freya charged Vasyl. She was skilled enough to wound Vasyl, but she quickly found herself outmatched and even her Mithral armor couldn’t protect her from Vasyl’s qasik sword.

As Freya fell, the ground next to Vasyl erupted and the Stone Spirit slammed into him. Fotunately, Vasyl was wearing his Ironhide armor and that saved his life. Corm upon seeing his leader take devastating hits from the Stone Spirit, cast his most powerful healing spell on Vasyl. At first he thought that nothing had happened, but then he saw Vasyl’s wounds begin to heal. As Vasyl desperately fought the Stone Spirit, the last of his Rageclaw warriors also jumped into the fight and together they were able to defeat it.

As the Stone Spirit’s physical form fell apart, Vasyl offered to allow the dwarves to withdraw with their wounded and dead.
