    Just checked out the Heroes Infinite release. Is it me or do all of their individual minis seem like they’re “too much”?

     

    Almost all of them have something swirling around them or some extra effect. Those are nice occasionally, but not for every single mini.


    The unit champion for their not-Empire had that for me.  Back banners that then wrapped around her, etc.

    I'm going to guess slashing & puffing like Landsknecht hosen, Thursir are pretty civilized.  The art it's based off is in B&W:

    So, I was on one of the various "3D Printing for Warhammer" pages and there was a thread of suggested Chaos Knight alternatives.

    I had somehow missed the insane combo this month from Cyber-Forge Miniatures, of not-Chaos Knights, Space Dwarf Miners, Space Skaven, and some awesome foundry terrain.

    Considering I've been working with not-Squats for Stargrave/other skirmish after the League of Votann announcement and Stargrave's Last Prospector, I had to back this.image.thumb.png.7d1f1c63603ffbbde1471b339afc19aa.png

    I brush-on colored primers, then use craft paints, washes, and hobby paints. Colored primers are cheaper per ounce, and get a head start on the basecoats. 


    Biggest thing I've seen for reactivation is that it takes longer to dry and people aren't used to it, so they go to paint over it before the first layer is fully done.  Goobertown covered a bit of it.

    I haven't had a problem with it myself.

    I'm liking them so far, it's a learning curve compared to my usual practices though.  Haven't messed with them as much as I thought since I had approximately 2000 other projects going and didn't want to start over to use them...though I think they will be my go-to white method from now on.

    Either they’re a legit company that is grotesquely mismanaged or they’re a scam…that is still somehow mismanaged.  There must have been better ways to fleece us if that was the intention but to think that they’ve had the product stateside this long and haven’t figured out a single way to get it backers is unbelievable.


    EU and Asia definitely got their rewards, so I wouldn't call them a scam.  But they are mismanaged beyond belief.

    The fact that Alex Lim was involved the entire time and they hid it explains a lot.

    Looks like they just posted an actual update with some details that people have been asking for for months, then used the second half "stop calling us out on our non-updates!"

    Okay, some people have been meaner than others, but it's been like getting blood from a stone to get them to give actual details.

    So much good stuff this month. I took advantage of the MMM 2 for 1 offer for this month (I love Egyptian themed stuff anyway) and got the dinosaur set from the middle of last year. I figure it will pair really well with the June release for this month.

     

    The Bite the Bullet offer looks like it will be a difficult one to turn down.

     

    Artisan Guild did undead this month, which got me to subscribe again. Next month is mind flayers, which I also love.

     

    Clay Cyanide is tempting me with their Aztec theme, something else I'm a sucker for, and those Highland Miniatures undead look great too. That's just extra stuff I'm considering. There's also all my current Patreons, which are fairly substantial already.

    I'm assuming that was an accidental mistake on their part, rather than intended?


    Yes to the accidental part; their last update that I saw made it sound like they're just going to keep all the May stuff up in June for that reason.

    They should have a ton of cool stuff coming too based on their Instagram (they are really having a rough time adjusting to updating on the Patreon itself.
