    Yep, pretty much, but here is the thing. once you start adding up the -2 RAV modifiers You really are still limited to the game board. simplistically speaking you have a attack value of 5 with in your 30 range you need to roll a 5 or better to beat the DV on a unit with a DV of 10, at 31-60 you need a 8 or better, and at 61-90 you have to roll a perfect 10. Thats not taking into effect any other modifier. so no worries, as long as your out of the room they can't shoot you *grin* Mad Pat

    You can not repair the 0 track once its been passed no matter what caused that damage. the ENG Repair Suite Instant is the only thing that can repair the Lingering damage. Our experience with Linked in play-testing and other games with similar ability does not guarantee a hit. It just gives you a better then average chance. This mechanic is used to reflect multiple main weapons on a unit like the two sets of chain guns on our dear Vanquisher. Mad Pat

    I think that once you actually get to play a game you'll find out just how the extra SA's and such do not affect the play of the game. The first alpha game took some time to play but thats because we were teaching as we were going, by the end it was playing just as fast if not faster then a normal CAV game with no real issues popping up from SA's and instants.     CAV 2 is like a game of GO you know the game with the flat surface with a grid pattern and the white and black stones. You can teach someone to play in just a few moments, but it will take a lifetime to master. CAV 2 is quick and simple. Yes it has quite a few variables in it, but I think that once you actually get to play in a game you'll find it flows very easily and that the layers of tactics will allow you to never fight the same battle twice. Plus its no worse then figuring out how many of my LRM's hit after firing while moving with a plus one gunnery at a target that moved 6 hexs behind light cover with smoke on the field. Mad Pat

    Remember that most units have both a direct and indirect attack. We only have one stat-line for the CAV and only one Range band. thus to give you a different range for indirect you get a baseline +6 inches. Run and Gun is One single attack from the model not each weapon. Thus a Rhino with two Maxim RGC's gets a single attack at -2 while performing run and gun, but he is still that much closer to the enemy. The way to get more attacks in a run and gun is to combine it with Salvo fire. Thus a Rhino using Run and Gun and Salvo would get one single shot from its Cannon, and the Two Salvo attacks listed in its SA area. Thus getting three attacks at -2 each, and still moving a single move increment.

    when you talk about the transports, Yes some of the transports capacity numbers have changed, when thinking of CAV2 ignore the datacards for CAV1. When you say some of the numbers on the infantry stands don't match up what do you mean. Mad Pat

    What you will see with movements is that speeds will be close to what they are now, Mini's will move quickly to engage, then slow down once the shooting starts. Then it will be down to maneuvering for the good shots. You will learn quickly that you do not i repeat do not want to stand in one place and shoot all day long. Movement is life! Mad Pat
  15. While hunting through the dark recesses of the Reaper warehouse we came upon this little fellow hiding in the back. He seemed a angry recluse when we first approached him, but when we told him we would take him to the great battle grounds of the Asylum his ears perked up and he started yelling for some guy named Don to hurry up. Yes finding a Green Ogre painted up buried in the Convention CAV's was more then John Bonnot and I could resist. So with some giggling by me and some green stuff work by John we give you the OGRE...

    Two things, One Warlord did not stop development of CAV. I know thats how it looks and feels but that is not the truth of the matter. Two as for my guess on when CAV 2.0 would be published my guess of summer to fall was a uneducated best guess/wish. That type of decision is beyond my pay-grade sir. Mad Pat

    To answer your question on CAV's like the Knight, all of that has been taken into account and worked out so that you get to use all the weapons shown on a CAV. Only one weapon system has been modified so that it no longer works in a direct fire fashion, but well you'll have to wait and see which one it is. Mad Pat
  18. Check the url at the top of your page. If it has the word BETA in it you need clear out your address bar and reenter reapergames.com and then go to warlord. What your seeing is a temp test page that will cause you issues if you keep attempting to view it. you'll want to remove Beta from the urls to make sure everything works properly. Mad Pat

    umm well lets see... its Faster to Play, It has lots and lots of new options, but no in a way that will overwhelm you. Fully compliant with the no mini left behind concept...ohh wait that was no child left behind, never mind....I would tell you about Arty strikes but you said they were already mentioned.... Mad Pat
  21. Well sence my first suggestion got shot down by She who doth teach us to Paint, I'll go with the closest thing we can get to a CAV with out being a CAV. Go with Gen Drake or even something that might be cool to practice on Dana. Mad Pat
  22. I've been wanting to try this for some time but alas have had no GPS to use. I'm hoping to get one this xmas and well be trying it out then. I like the idea of leaving a mini. Mad Pat
