    Starhawk VI

I have to say the unit shown in the photo earlier in the thread fielded strait out of the book on Sun night and she did VERY well. It was a small game and it dominated the field. We'll see how well she does in the follow up games, but i'm enjoying it strait out of the book. Patrick "Mad Pat" Haughton Dallas Texas

Ohh you mean this CAV? Mine is shown here in the Sir Hawkins colors for my unit. Got used last night in our league event and it was the last CAV standing. Patrick "Mad Pat" Haughton Dallas Texas

    Funding Your Habit

ya i think you've got it squared away, as long as they are just paying to get into a bigger event and not just the tourny then it shouldn't violate any of the BL rules. As for running events, i've run tons, what kinda advice are you looking for. primary is securing folks to run games. RPG's, table top games, CAV, Warlord the gambit. once you have your GM's and a per game max that they will allow at their table, you figure out your site needs and table needs, and move from there. you'll need a staff of some sort to be responsible for the event, taking tickets, yada yada yada. Funding Your Habit

All your suggestions are great for this side of the pond Spire, but I think that the rules are a bit different over in the UK where Stuarts question first addressed. But ya defiantly folks if your looking to have a big cav event use Spires list as a check list and hit them all. now for our limey friends.... the quickest way to work around it would be to rent the hall in conjunction with another gaming group and have the big cav event as a event with in this event. so you charge to get in the door but you play which ever available game you want for free.... just a thought. 5. I would say Kahn's because they are the sports cars of the CAV world, or go with the Mantis idea.. Patrick "Mad Pat" Haughton

    OK, Fluff Trivia

ok I've got one. Which unit was the first Recycled unit made from recycled and remanufactured parts? Patrick "Mad Pat" Haughton Dallas Texas
  9. Ahh very simple, you need to have the Privateer pick a side, like the "Yachting Enthusiasts" of old would often work under a letter of Mark from a government allowing them to prey upon that governments enemies with no repercussion from the issuing government, in exchange they would not prey upon the host vessels. Patrick "Mad Pat" Haughton Dallas Texas
  10. you forgot one faction, Privateers, they don't fall under the merc ruling. Patrick "Mad Pat" Haughton Dallas Texas
  11. The handbook looks great. Though I must say I still really really hate the rule that if a unit rams into a building its destroyed. Damaged yes, destroyed no.. did you ever think of mabey a aca/dca roll against the building? Patrick "Mad Pat" Haughton Dallas Texas
  12. As for the Hawk 6 its in production now as well as a few new vehicals, and its a dam pretty CAV. I tend to like the Fluff added in with the JOR's as well. If you take the time to read the full reports on each cav insted of looking at the photo and then skipping to the data cards, you'll find quite a bit of fluff. Patrick "Mad Pat" Haughton Dallas Texas
  13. AICOM is the working title, some others i know have been bantered aroudn but I don't think anyone of them is offical. It should be allot of fun when it hits the shelves and as a side benifit were gona get some cool future/modern mini's to play with as well. Patrick "Mad Pat" Haughton Dallas Texas
  14. Umm i'll have to put together a roster but I think it would be amusing to bring in 5k of non cav units. Patrick "Mad Pat" Haughton
  15. I guess that's my next question checking the AT bag or Carry on...this one may be answered best by our Heathrow traveling Brit. Better to put up with screening and carry on a bag full of lead, or check the bag and pray for the gods of superglue to hold. Patrick "Mad Pat" Haughton in the case of emergency your CAV's can be used as self defense weapons
  16. mine all lay on their backs in 2.5 trays I haven't had any problems yet, though well see how well they travel to Origins. Patrick "Mad Pat" Haughton
  17. Actually in the revised team list that I haven't gotten to send Frank yet I've got two infantry teams, one hard one soft how you choose to deploy them could make or break the team. We've also changed up a few of the units used to better highlight some of the newer units that we didn't have available for use at Reapercon. Franks right though 99% of the heavy mortar teams were setup right next to each other and were well inside the 4 inch AOE of a single well placed Sov shot. I'm going to re-beta this at AKON in a week, and then we'll have it set up at Origins for any of you coming to try your hand at. Patrick "Mad Pat" Haughton Dallas Texas
  18. there were some weaknesses in the big section in its speed, the Rhino either lived or died. there actually were a couple of strategies that Frank and I discussed before the game started and after watching the first two games. It was actually very interesting to watch how the terrain changed the game, I think one of my favorites was the lunar game when you guys wanted to play on the moonscape, the scorpions really loved those craters. I'm tweaking the new army a bit with a change to the apc teams. I can't discuss the specifics of what we have in mind to win it till after Origins as I want some of you guys who are expericanced players to try it out.
  19. the first reason was what we had on hand, plus the second reason was for specific roles each played. and weaknesses. Patrick "Mad Pat" Haughton
  20. Ya currently I have three three inch trays holding 8 cav's each, a 1.5 tray for infantry stands, which are held on their side to fit more in. and a 1 inch tray for armor. I think I have room for another 1 inch tray in there which will probably be going in soon. That's why I'm looking at a Battalion transport Patrick
  21. I'm looking at play testing it here in Dallas at reapers booth at AKON in a week or so, and then us rerunning it at Orgins. I'm also convenced that while its a great training game for new folks who have a ton of fun with it the, logistical issues involved make it challanging enough for advanced players. I was thinking about offering up a prize for the first all advanced vs advanced team to retrive the flag and get it off the board. Patrick "Mad Pat" Haughton
  22. I sent you the newly created version that we swapped some new stuff out for did you ever get it? Once we get a chance to look at it more we'll post it for a newbie game, its a great way to teach combined arms. Only thing we were missing was armor..and I'm still trying to figure out a way to put that in. Patrick

    The junkyard!

ya get your self some very thing wire, like almost metallic thread for the wires and it would be cool to have some hanging out of joints and such. you could almost do a art piece and have them stuck in the ground feet up like that old photo of all the Cadillacs buried in the dirt nose first. Patrick "Mad Pat" Haughton Dallas Texas
  24. I saw the first gen Masters of the new releases the week after Reapercon so it should be any day now. and ohhh did they look sweet!!!! Patrick "Mad Pat" Haughton Dallas Texas
  25. I've got a army transport case right now, which is quickly running out of space, so I was looking at Leech's Battalion transport when he was over for ReaperCon. I also looked at the figures in comfort case and if I didn't already have a ton of money invested in AT foam trays I'd probably switch over. Patrick "Mad Pat" Haughton
