Second Edition Rulebook out of stock
Gus Landt replied to Gilfalas's topic in Warlord General Discussion
The only thing you won't have access to are the faction doctrines and Warlord benefits. Everything else is available at ReaperGames.com Yeah and the faction doctrines and warlord benefits are very important for us as we play 4 of the old races. Why don't you implement these to the army creator? Because I'd like there to be a reason for people to purchase a book. With those items in the army creator, 100% of the rules would be free online, and no one would buy a book. Keep in mind that every Warlord faction was playtested for balance BEFORE adding the faction doctrines and warlord benefits. You can simply play without them until the book is back in stock. -
AOE is 5, centered on the casting model. All friendly undead models within that area teleport along with the caster, and must be placed within 3 inches of where the caster appears. You can't really call the finishing positions of the models a 3" AOE, because in warlord AOE is measured in diameter, and within 3" of the caster doesn't reflect that; technically you could have a 3 inch gap between the bases of caster and friendly model teleported which could net you the result of a much larger than 3" or 5" AoE with respect to the finishing position of friendly models. Pretty sure that is the way it works, although Jason or Gus might be able to clarify further, or correct me if I am wrong. Correct. The ending AoE is more like 7". But it is not technically an AoE. The rule simply says all models must be placed within 3" of the caster at the destination point. So they can be 2.99" away from the caster. This same measurement is used elsewhere (like with the Roar SA), where it isn't an AoE but a simple measurement outward from the edge of the model's base.

All spells in a Spellcast Action need to be declared at the same time (page 34: Casting Multiple Spells). NOTE that this is Step 1 in spell resolution. NOTE that targets, ranges, etc are measured at this time. Thus, you could NOT cast teleport, move the model, then cast exploding sacrifice on the model in its new location.

Likely not until after GenCon. I would expect it to be available on Amazon by mid-August for sure.

Part Death's River has been a popular tactic in the local tournies for this scenario. That and teleport are the only way to cross that much space and still attack.

Reach models used with Swift Attack models
Gus Landt replied to Not Sure's topic in Warlord General Discussion
I wouldn't call it a "ruling", as there is no ambiguity to rule on. Swift Attack specifically states that they cannot receive more than a single defensive strike from any model they attack. And since Swift Attack and Reach each only allow a single attack, the best you are getting is 2 attacks on the enemy and only 1 back on you (ok, 3 if you plan really well and have 2 Reach guys behind the Swift Attacker). These are precisely the strategies and tactics that can put clever players on top. -
Reach models used with Swift Attack models
Gus Landt replied to Not Sure's topic in Warlord General Discussion
Great work on puzzling this one out gang! The direct answer to the original question is "yes" - exactly as Shakandara points out. The sticky part is in the defensive strikes. Swift Attack specifically says the defending model may not make more than 1 defensive strike on the swift attack model. This means that if the defending model has no other valid targets for its remaining defensive strikes (provoked from the Reach model), then it doesn't get to make them. Great question! -
GenCon 2010 Tournament Scenarios available
Gus Landt replied to Gus Landt's topic in Warlord General Discussion
Scenario 2 had some tweaks done to it. Please re-download scenario 2. Also, I noticed that in my Firefox browser, Scenario 3 wasn't displaying the 2nd page. If anyone else experiences this problem, please try a different browser, or right-click on the file and download it to your computer before opening. -
Savage North faction added to ReaperGames

What does the spray SA on Vasyl's warhorn magic item do? It won't print, even when I ask the builder to print SA's. I don't think the builder recognizes SA's attached to items rather than troopers. -Lionheart. Correct, the Army Creator currently does not include equipment SAs. In the back of the rulebook is a page of templates (not that it helps you now, as you don't have the book yet). -

Savage North faction added to ReaperGames
Gus Landt replied to Gus Landt's topic in Warlord General Discussion
Well, I got it so it is no longer overlapping, but it still doesn't look as nice in IE as in other browsers... -
Just wanted to chime in and say the doctrine is intentionally designed that way.
