The US government is kind enough to make those round bases for him. Decent paint job and all, but I hope those minis were cheap 'cause they is some ugly knock-offs. I bet I could sculpt something better...

I'm down 6 pounds, I've been running myself ragged this week but I'm not sure that has anything to do with it. If it stays off, I'll be surprised... I actually gave the dog the rest of my sandwich from McD's today. I know that's not really "boast worthy", since it's still fast food. I rarely eat fast food anymore (it's the first time I've eaten fast food since Gen Con), but I was so tired from running around doing stuff the last couple of days I wanted to go home and crash - not cook (of course, I didn't crash, but I did end up taking the dog for a walk).

Chalk it up to "still in Beta". The booth demo minis were on square bases, the 'open gaming' minis were on round bases...

From the flyer I saw... $25 for the starter set ("Everything needed for one player to start playing"). ??? $13 a box for 2 random minis of the same creature (you need 2 versions to play, regular and "Hyper"). Ouch... $13 a box for 1 random building and 4 "support units". ???

Sorry for your loss nytfly. I probably never would have chosen a Shepard, but I'm glad I inherited/rescued Lakota. He has developed hip problems (since he slipped on the ice last winter), but he certainly doesn't have any temperament issues.

That's a rather expensive way of doing it... Is it the alternate Gaan Hor warrior (with folded wings)? I would really like this one as well. That's my bet, judging from the other thread...

How about a new "Heads" pack with just Reptus/Half-Dragon, Hellborn, and Battleguard heads... If you don't want to sculpt one, there's a tail for your Hellborn in the Creature Component pack.

Beautiful stuff. I have some of their tiles, but I find it hard to justify $40 for one ship. Not to mention $75 for the "Fury" (and they have a multiple level Galleon for $125 as well). http://www.dragonfiresigns.com/store.php IIRC, someone on the boards did some work for them at some point.

Savage Worlds gets my seal of approval, even if I'm currently not playing it. As to figuring it out by yourself, it seems easy enough to me. We did have one player who had some problems picking it up (she actually seems to have a better handle on D&D oddly enough), but for the most part it should be easy enough. If you can get someone to show you the system all the better, if it's just you and your brother who cares if you make up your own 'house rules'.... I would start with the basic rules (the "Explorer's Edition") and the fan made stuff to get a feel for the system. From there you can check out the various campaign settings and find one that suites your needs. Good luck!

Yes, the alt sculpt is in the army pack. Actually, I got 8 in my pack (4 of each). Gam-Nan is 14442, I guess he's called a "Clan Elder" in the previews... His tail is separate, so you could leave it off and mod the spear if you didn't want him flying.

I do, but they didn't turn out very well. My hand is too shaky to get a better shot from above them... It looks like the one sold separately comes with 2 wings and the body (plus the base). The alternate sculpt would actually be easier to convert this way, it's arms are separate from the lower body. It comes with wings (together), the body, and arms with the spear (plus the base). You should also check out Gam-Nan, his head comes separate (although his body would be hard to convert).
