  1. Oh, heck yeah! He absolutely screams old school fighter. These dungeon dweller minis are shaping up nicely.
  2. Any hints on What February’s mini will be?
  3. Klockenbooty giveth. Klockenhands taketh away. IE, while Herr Klocke can sculpt some crazy booty, his hands (while 1000x better than what I can do) are not his strong suit.
  4. Nice job! I was just thinking that I must have painted a lot this year, but I think you have me beat!
  5. I’m pretty sure he was one of the discontinued P65 series minis. P65 was a lead alloy series which Reaper introduced to provide some lower price large miniatures. One of the official Reaper folks would have to comment, but it seems like Bones has replaced this niche. The only minis I would still like to see resculpted from this line are a couple Ice Giants, based on some cool Wayne Reynolds artwork.
  6. Thanks for the experiment! They really do look interesting in different colors. It kind of makes me want to go get a half dozen more shadow demons and some Tamiya clears so that I can run a 'Rainbow Demons of DOOOOOOOM' encounter.
  7. This is what I imagine a party looks like if you play Pathfinder with ALL the optional books....
  8. I've been busy with school/work, but had a couple hours to paint tonight. I'm pretty sure that all these colors shouldn't work together, but somehow they do. It's not done yet, but so far, I'm liking how my cockatix is turning out.
  9. There's also these, which should be out soon.
  10. Like BlazingTornado said post some pictures and we might be able to help out.
  11. Back to it! Hellsbane is a good figure to practice some lava painting. I think it was confirmed at one point that he's 'not Diablo'. The iron golem is sized more like a shield construct or helmed horror from D&D, so I used inks to put his base coat down. After that I alternated metallics and inks. I'm not entirely sure why my camera is picking up so much of the magenta ink still, because (for once) in hand the colors are much more subtle. And yes....it was time for an Avatar swap. My third time ever!
  12. I don't remember how much time I put in before my bout of painters block, but once the bug hit - 3 days. i hate that my muse inspires in fits and spurts! In addition to this project, I've also painted 7 of the wandering monsters from Massive Darkness, partially completed an 8th mini from the same game, finished up the dire bear and grave grub from Bines 3, a D&D minis naga, and have about a half a dozen other big metal and bones monsters in sitting in various stages of completion. This is all from the last 10 days....
  13. They are removable, so that they can be used for games. Other than fighting the urge to fiddle around....I think this project is done!
  14. Just 25mm wooden bases from Litco. The main base is a wooden oval from the local craft shop. I traced out the 25mm bases, then gouged out the holes using a linoleum cutter (usually used for making stamps).
  15. I think I might be stuck with the cards. I ended up supergluing them on! As far as gold goes.... What I do need is a set of small goblets and mugs...
  16. Here's a little work on the cards - made with cardstock, drawn with micro pens, then painted over to look old. I'm trying for dynamic motion and I think it's working out so far.
  17. A while back (during Bones 3) Ub3r and I made a gentlemans bet about the total earnings of said Kickstarter. The looser would be required to paint a mini for the winner - nothing big, nothing fancy. His total was closer than mine and I set to work, brainstorming what I would cobble together. I wanted something that invoked the sense of gambling in a fantasy setting. I ended up deciding one mini wasn't going to cut it and came up with an idea for a vignette showing a couple of heroes finding out what happens when you gamble with the thieves guild. I plotted out my basic idea and gathered up the minis I would need. Then, as I often find, I was struck with painters block. How was I going to model that floor? What would I use for cards? Months (years??) later, the painting bug hits and everything comes together. Below, I plan on documenting my progress (and periodically asking for help!).
