  1. And about time! Lots of these turned out really well. A few of my favourites didn't, but there's more than enough good stuff to choose from.
  2. I was also surprised by just how much I got. Used to dwarven forge, now I have more Tablescapes than DF caverns. That suits me fine, I actually like this product design better and use mines way more. Man do I ever wish this was prepainted though. Would have gladly paid double or more.
  3. Thanks for that heads up Chris! Some of these pieces are big enough that besides hot water reforming, it might be possible to put some sturdy wires in and bend them to hold the shape. I do that with limbs and things sometimes.
  4. Does anyone here own Tombs of the Dark Sun? I'm curious how durable the resin is.
  5. Thanks folks, I was able to get the parts I need with your helps
  6. I'm fantastically excited for this one. I use mines all the time, and I really like secret weapons' wall/floor setup. I hope it plays well with dwarven forge, I think the scales will be a bit off, but as long as I can work with it...
  7. Hi all, I'm looking at doing some conversions of a few mounted characters, but with the boneyard gone it's hard to tell what component parts a model is made of. It would be nice to know if particular models came as a mount + rider as separate pieces, or if they are a single cast. Can anyone help me out with these? Or, are you aware of any models where the mounted character is easily separate for conversions? 14628 Darkrime Drake 14505: Brood of Payanak 14375: Volendria (found the answer to that one, she's good) Also is the bones Count Lorenth seamed? If I can yank the rider off that horse without cutting I'd be happy. Thanks for anyone who can help.
  8. I kinda like the sculpts, wish I was a bigger fan of the Warhammer style goblins.
  9. This has all the hallmarks of a Kickstarter scam to me.
  10. I'm hoping for a crappy core set I can ignore. I feel like chances are slim. I've barely made inroads into bones 3 though and I've got horrible self control.
  11. I hope there are interesting monsters that aren't all supragargantuan. I like that bones does large models well, but I like having a variety of sizes. Not every encounter should be against a massive monstrosity.
  12. I think bones minis of any of the animals that come out of a bag of tricks would be a nice idea.
  13. I'd be happy to see minion armies of existing monsters redone in new styles too. A different kind of lizardman? Ratlike or doglike Kobolds? These would be cool. Actually, minion versions of playable races are deeply missing. Human, elven, dwarven, halfling *thugs* to play bandits and mooks would be so useful. The ones from bones3 are incredibly small potatoes compared to how often I use these kind of baddies. Also, I need tons of dragonborn and tieflings.
  14. I'm excited about dungeon elevation stuff. The lack of decent elevation tools is what's kept me from getting ks1 stuff. I am also getting more excited about the passages as time goes on, but the blocks and ramps and daises have me so keen. I am already in for one elevation mega set, it's so hard to convince myself not to get even more elevations.
  15. Someday maybe I'll pull out one of my early minis and help you feel better about yourself. You did fine, your brushing is precise and your colours are good. There's a great contrast. The only thing I'd do differently is highlighting a few areas up, especially on the face and armour.
  16. Those guys love their tight clingy dresses don't they... Love the colour choices!
  17. Wow. Nice work, inspiring freehand. Makes me want to make a mad astronomer warlock character.
  18. Really none of the stretches after 2.65 do anything for me now, and that's a bit strange since there are only four encounters I'm not getting. I'm not complaining though, the value is good already. Edit: I guess technically 2.75 is for me, it's just kinda trivial.
  19. Honestly the miniatures are a solid meh for me. I far prefer reaper's. Which is good because I didn't want the shrine.
  20. I've started painting my large army of bones ogres. Since my orcs are rust coloured I decided to try making ogres green, I'm pretty happy with the result.
  21. I really don't need more to paint, so I'm hoping I maintain my decision of only getting things that will enhance my d&d game significantly.
  22. Skip the classic core. You get lots of good pieces with zaltar, and you can get classic pieces easily in other ways, including buying from people selling their old stock. Get the new interesting stuff that makes a dungeon "pop" For people getting their first stuff: don't focus on getting just a bunch of floors and walls. You won't have anything you couldn't do with a whiteboard. Try to get something that gives you things that are better than just a flat layout. The encounters are great for that. I currently have only about 200$ of DF cavern stuff, and I use it all the time. I have a few basic corners and walls, and then some interesting floors and walls and elevation bits. I don't think I'd be able to do much with just the base materials... The character pieces are what actually add to the game. Zaltar plus an elevation expansion is a fantastic starter set. Classic dungeon sets are good when you're in a 500$ range but really don't add that much fun if you're trying to stay low budget. You can get that stuff in the online store any time, even right now, and you really won't see a big difference in play.
  23. I do already have a nice painted nethyrmaul and backed Green Horde for a zombie dragon. So either I'm going to have too many zombie dragons, or I'm starting a flock.
  24. Well, one pic in and I've already lost my resolve.
  25. Some excellent photos came up today with cavern+burrow combos and also sysuul+regular dungeon stuff. It's shaking my resolve.
