Froggy Does Gaslands (Schload of Images)

I love all of them. The ram heads are just the perfect addition. I will be looking at your thread for future inspiration when I manage to get some together. Awesome.
  2. Now that I had time to sort through all the contents of the Chaoswolf box , I took some pics of the bounty. And of course it is now on its way to Izzylobo. I had a minor delay with a wicked head cold but it is finally in the mail and I added quite of few of new items I hope to see posted when it finds a new home. As for my picks A wide shot ... we play Warmachine and thought hey I could use a spare battlebox for luring new peeps into playing with us. A few bones made their way into my collection as well as a group of lovely ral partha Kobolds, a reaper blister and a cute little big mouth fellow that was just screaming give me a home. A close up of the Kobolds and the cute big mouth fellow and a closeup of the bones. I filled the box back up with a wide array of different manufactures and hope someone finds a few of the pieces interesting enough to give them a good home. Thanks everyone ... now onto the next part of the fun of seeing when my minis get homes.
  3. Chaoswolf box officially posted to @izzylobo, scheduled to arrive Thursday.
  4. Chaoswolf box arrived - will post once it is on its way on to izzylobo
  5. @Ratmaster2000 Awesome to see so much receive a home, you have your painting cut out for you. I'm excited per the tracking the box should arrive by tomorrow evening. I'll post here once I know it is safe and sound. Then once I get it sorted a post of the goodies I give a home to.
  6. I'd be in for a group paint if I'm not too late to the party for input. But if others would rather not, that's good too.

    ReaperCon 2018 Sophie

I loved seeing her in person as always Rhonda beautiful. All the tiny details were just perfect. Thank you for sharing some of your process it's awesome to get to see it.
  8. ChaosWolf I need to formally thank you for making sure I was included on this round. I'm so excited it's been a bit since I participated and I love just seeing all the awesome minis in the box and quite enjoy following along and seeing what everyone picks. Not to mention all the minis I have that need good homes.

    Happy birthday, Marsya!

Thank you all for the birthday wishes. These forums are the best.
  10. Looking nice I love he blue skin tone and color scheme as a whole. I may be too late but I would suggest mixing in a bit of Elf flesh or fair skin to your ashen blue to bring up her highlight. When I did a grey blue skin I shaded it with a bit of burgundy wine and added a bit of rosy skin highlight to my blue for my 1st highlight and a bit of pale sand for the final highlight. It helped the skin seem a bit more natural while still remaining blue. Although you need to be careful as to what flesh tone you use some with too much yellow undertone will turn green which you do not want. Looking forward to seeing more and of course when you finish her up.

Looking forward to seeing these finished, awesome work so far.

    Kingdom Death: Monster 2

I'm torn too on the Gamblers Chest and the pinups. I'd rather have the pinups in resin even at a higher price point so I'm thinking of waiting as I hope he does a limited release of them in resin. Same goes for my favorite sculpts in the GC but the game content may make it worthwhile(even though we play very seldom as a filler for RPG's when someone can't make it). But it's a bit of a gamble as he may never release them in resin. I'll likely buy the GC and if he releases some of the sculpts in resin pit the plastic versions in the box of goodwill. It's just what to do about the pinups.
  13. I managed to get my winter exchange piece and gifts to vegascat in time for Christmas. Since he sent me a heartfelt thank you directly and I know she made it I wanted to post up some of the photos I took before mailing her off. I will let vegascat share photos of the gifts if he chooses and just post the painted miniature. I had alot of fun painting her up and quite enjoyed keeping her to a limited palette. I am happy he likes her and that she made it safely during a busy mail time. Here she is on her scenic base alongside the Golem Familiar from 02826. And I wanted to keep her removable in case he wants to use her for gaming. I enjoyed painting her quite a bit I think my favorite part was her skin, I used a bit of purple pink in the shadows which I think shows better in hand and then glazed it with a rosy flesh to help make it a bit warmer while still looking cool overall. I will have to pick her up again and paint one up to keep, she is just too pretty of a sculpt not to.
  14. Congrats you earned it. He is a marvel to look at. Just spectacular all around.

    77203: Alastriel

Beautiful color choice and awesome progress on her cloak. I can't wait to see what you do with the rest of the mini. Oh and it was lovely meeting you, I'm so happy I did.

    Pathfinder Seoni Bust (ReaperCon 2016)

She was stunning! Congrats on the well deserved gold. I remember when you handed her to me to take a photo I had to ask if you sculpted her as I thought perhaps I somehow missed her release. Thanks for posting some of the process it is an interesting read, and of course bringing her to the show for us all the marvel at. Just lovely.

    Home safe thread

Little late to the party, but I am home safe. Glad everyone seems to have made it safely.
  18. Yes I love it too. I am on my third bottle. P3's coal black and Reapers Burgandy Wine are generally my go to for shadows.

Hobby Report - First and Best (so far)! [Group/Open]

Lots of inspiring awesomeness in this thread. Let's go back in time shall we, my first mini before I knew to remove mold lines or even prime, oh and everything was sprayed in gloss sealer only. BTW she is still proudly displayed in my mini display case for all to see when they come over to game. Now for my recent-ish favorite. Dark Sword's Stephanie Law's Euterpe. And favorite Reaper mini Sleeping Beauty Although I'm still learning and try to push each mini a little bit (sometimes I luck out and succeed other times I call it a good learning experience.

    Gen Con 2016

It was great meeting you too. One of these years we need to get a group of us together and go for a drink or something. I think I saw you as Beetlejuice at the food court but I did not realize it was you great costume.

    60178: Enora, Iconic Arcanist

I look forward to seeing your base unfold, you always create such lovely scenes.
  22. That would suit her too and force me to try an indoor scene. Hmmm Thank you now I need to give both ideas more thought. Thank you I really like the idea of her near water I have some small ferns and Lilly pads which could also look nice with her. Now I just need to manage to finish her so I can start a base.
  23. It's been quite some time since I posted some minis here let alone a WIP. And joining the google hangout reminded me I really should ( thank you for that) . I apologize I switched jobs a few months ago and my life had been a little abnormal since. I also am kinda moved to Lancaster, Pa so if any fellow forum members are out this way, give me a shout I'd love to meet up to paint, game or just chat. Anyway on to the mini. I started Jahenna months ago to use as a test piece to try out a new mix for flesh. Since I finished up everything else on my desk, I figured I'd give her some more time, and quite possibly finish her who knows. Here are some photos that should be safe for the forums of how she looked when I picked her up a few days ago. (Please forgive my cell phone pics, I do not have my photo setup and light box with me yet during the week) So basically I was testing color mixes and hadn't even completely blended it but that's ok as most of it will be covered anyway for the cloth. I slowly started to block in some cloth and began my intermediate mixes to help make it look sheer. I also upped the highlights on her skin a bit. Here is how she looks now. These photos are linked as the front is considered nudity. The back http://wp.me/a26YPy-6r And front http://wp.me/a26YPy-6s Now I still have lots to do to make the cloth look right and blend better, as well as go back to her skin and fix that but I hope it's starting to read right. And hopefully with everyone's motivation possibly get her finished rather than leave her sit on the shelf of shame. This weekend I will attempt to take photos with my light box and camera as well. As always thanks everyone for all the awesomeness on these forums. And of course comments, critiques or just general rambling always welcome.

    Lizardman/Aztec-ish display base

Just discovered this and I love the tower. It looks great, I love the coloring and all your little details. I like the ivy but perhaps rather than tufts some painted on moss effects in the shadows will give it a bit more greenery with keeping it smaller. Even some pigments to create a bit of dust look would keep within the mood of the piece and give a bit more texture. I like the idea of spider webs, do test them. When I made your ghost bride I tested spider web material for the airbrush and opted to not use it for her as she was going to be shipped and possibly handled if you chose to use her on the game table. So I went with cotton to be safe. The product I had looked cool but would not hold up unless it was only for display. Also in my testing the amount applied changed the look dramatically. However I don't know what you plan on using and it may be better than what I have. This is an epic gift and is looking quite pretty.

WIP - 77031: Cassie, Gnome Wizard (Bones)

Looking nice, I really like the yellow and how it will contrast with her blue on her staff. Her robe is also really starting to look nice.
