  1. Grenadier Barbarian Chieftain I painted this over ten years ago. It is one of the most important models in my personal collection. I think if my house was about to burn down and I could only save one mini, it would probably be this one. I had one of these minis way back in the early 90’s. It was my favourite even back then. The mini was lost after a life change and a move to another city. Fast forward to the early 2000’s. I met Primeval on Cool Mini or Not. I was inspired by his ability and the passion that he put into his models. He was, and still is, very specific about wha
  2. Your wife is new to the hobby and paints that well? I hope you're prepared for her abilities to surpass your own very very soon. Women have a habit of getting good at this hobby far quicker than most men. I've seen this before and soon you will too...
  3. Thank you! My techniques very from model to model. Sometimes I wet blend other days I just layer. I'll even use an airbrush if the model allows for it. I have a shelf full of various different mediums from several different brands. I'll try anything. In short I'll say this, thin your paint using your medium of choice then thin it some more. Then thin it again...
  4. Hakon, Iconic Skald. Not much to say about it really. Comments, questions and critique are more than welcome.
  5. Happy to share... Carrot Top Red Highlight Orange Burnt Orange Golden Blond P3 Brown wash (very strategic shading)
  6. I rarely do NMM. All of the metal that you see has been done with standard Army Painter variety of metals. To be honest I stay away from the technique as much as possible. I'm not that good at it.
  7. Wow! I didn't expect these to be received so well. Thank you all for the kind words!
  8. 02152: Fafnir Of Kjord, 02939: Viking Girl, 02142: Beorn The Mighty These three have been sitting unfinished on my paint table for years. I got tired of seeing them so I finally finished them up. I thought it might be fun if I tied them together so I used the same palette when I did the hair. I think they look a little like family when painted this way. The casting on the two males wasn't the greatest. There were a few really difficult mold lines to remove and the skin was quite rough in a few spots. I heard that the molds on older models degrade after a while so you sometimes get a no
  9. This is really good. Love the plaid.
  10. I'd be happy to do it. Let me see what I can come up with...
  11. Mark Copplestone knows how to make a sweet looking Barbarian.
  12. ....not sure if serious. https://www.reapermini.com/ShowcaseGallery/patrick%20keith/latest/30014#detail/30014_1_p_mp.jpg Wow. How did I miss this. Thank you for the heads up. Seriously, How did I not see this before?
  13. A small write up of what I did can be found here... http://losthemisphere.com/wp/2016/05/painting-skarre-and-her-great-rack/
  14. A nice break from the norm. I wish Reaper did mini busts. Hey Reaper! Make this happen! Start with Dwarfs...
  15. A great paint job, She has a nice cold feel to her.
  16. I usually mix the Woodland Scenics with Realistic Water and a touch of white paint. No modeling paste.
  17. Thank you! The snow is modeling paste mixed with a touch of white paint and Realistic Water. While it was wet I sprinkled on some Woodland Scenics Snow. The last part was the mistake. I guess it's not so bad.
  18. It's been a while since my last post. Too many commissions and life stuff in the way. I really just painted this model as an excuse to fool around with new snow basing techniques. It didn't quite come out as expected so I won't likely do it this way again.
  19. Terrific! The yellow is really well done. Maybe add a touch of gore on her top?
  20. Sorry for the slow reply. I didn't see the post until now. The snow is a mix of Woodland Scenics snow powder, Vallejo Air white paint and Woodland Scenics Realistic water and a spot of Weldbond white glue.
  21. This reminds me of a rampaging super villian. Very cool.
