  1. I've been right here in Denver, man. I can't leave on account of the spiders.
  2. Way back when I started out, I got into Kickstarter. Even back then, not everything fulfilled - one of my earliest pledges is for an animated adaptation of a Neil Gaiman short story that wasn't doing very well originally, and then just stopped when the creator's son died. Other things did deliver. It's fun! I got more and more into it, and then... well, four years ago my wife passed away, and I realize now that I got really into Kickstarter for a while. I've got lots of boxes of games I haven't really touched. But this Christmas my kickstarters all finished, and I'm currently at 0 backed. I kind of like the feeling. I'm interested in keeping it up! So I'm going to try to track this, see what kickstarters I do or don't back, and hold myself accountable for when I inevitably break down and back something. We'll see. Wish me luck!
  3. Hello! I'd forgotten that this was a place to post about it, but I got my minis as well yesterday. I had a bit of an eye problem, so I didn't look at them in too much detail, but mine all look pretty good. Even with having to eventually pay $115 for the lot (I just went for the base set and the stretch goals), I think it was a good deal for the money. Now, to cross my fingers and hope that the Series 2 comes in. (Doesn't cost me anything to hope!) Given that I got the Altar Quest last year, that more or less comes out as one kickstarter delivered on time, one late with extra costs, and one to be determined... (musical sting goes here.) I'm going to take them in to my next D&D game and show them off.
  4. Thank you! It certainly went much nicer than last year's birthday!
  5. Neat! I go on vacation tomorrow... and UPS doesn't really do vacation holds anymore. But my box arrived today!
  6. As a quick note - if you missed this kickstarter or wanted to get more, they just posted an update to the kickstarter that they're selling off more of the games through their pledge manager, with a link. As was discussed earlier, I went All In so it's not much help for me. That said, if you just like the models they have a box of random figures from the game for about $40, if you just want to paint funky minis. My daughter probably no longer would fit in the box, although the box has long since been recycled. :)
  7. I've backed a number of their campaigns. They do a good job with their games, producing them with good quality and sending them out on time. I don't have any problem with this, because I know they've shown they'll deliver. I'm surprised that they're using miniatures for this, and not their usual meeples, to be honest.
  8. I was a little surprised to not see this already here. I just got a 48 hour notification on a game called "Lurkers of the Deep" - it's apparently an expansion to a miniatures game, but in addition to the game they're also selling a bunch of 20s/30s pulp/cthulhu style minis. (And a number of buildings, too.) I'm not interested in the game, but I put down a 30 pound pledge to get a bunch of the figures and get the various free stretch goals figures. There's only another 46 or so hours left, so I guess that means it ends early on March 1st. http://kck.st/3tbALxp is the link.
  9. Thank you! I'm not as active here as I used to be, but I do poke my head in from time to time. I appreciate being remembered.
  10. I'm backing these - apparently this is their second kickstarter for creating a brick-based dice tower.
  11. Oh, I think it is a smidge bigger. I'm looking forward to trying it out, but I'm not sure how I'm going to manage all these counters. Oh, and I quite like the trays of minis - it's very nicely organized.
  12. So, I did back this, and my copy arrived today. I'm pretty happy with this - I didn't go for any expansions (other than a set of more dice), and between the base box and the expansion I'm swimming in content. I feel like I've gotten my $109 worth. :) So many cards.
  13. I've backed for now, as there's an early bird, but I'm not entirely sold, given the shipping costs.
  14. I'm getting one of the 14s for use when I want to paint away from my main station, since they're portable trays. I'm still pretty happy with my hobby holder.
  15. Well, all the retail stores are going to close due to no customers given the current pandemic, so why plan to sell in a market that isn't going to exist? And I'm only somewhat joking here, honestly.
  16. I'm also going to be watching this with interest. I'm happy with what I got from the original Kickstarter, and this looks like fun too.
  17. Yeah, I've got enough paint. I've dropped the kickstarter, and I can look into it again when it launches.
  18. I'll have to keep that in mind. I've got a lot of their spices myself, and an empty bottle from their sandwich spice that probably could be reused for that. There's this brand of Thai curry paste that comes in small jars (not as small as the spice one was) which might be useful as well.
  19. Honestly, they could have stopped with the stretch goals a week ago and I would have been satisfied with the deal - as it is it's magnificent.
  20. I'm curious - any chance you've posted pictures of this somewhere online that I could glance at? Hopefully in this forum somewhere?
  21. Heh. Kingdom Death just posted an update cheering Frosthaven on, and even backed the project as well. :)
  22. Fear Of Missing Out - making something an exclusive to get people to back now instead of later.
  23. I've backed this as well. I've already backed Altar Quest, but this is becoming more and more a great deal, just with the base pledge.
  24. Although I agree that Cthulhu: DMD is a fine project, 'shipped on time' is stretching the truth. The project level I backed, for the 'Unspeakable Pledge', was scheduled for July 2019, but I apparently got it in December 2019. Six months late isn't too bad for a Kickstarter project, but honestly it's not anywhere near 'on time'... and really by this point, you would think CMON would have a better handle on sending out kickstarters on time, they've certainly done enough of them. I'm not hugely interested in the project, but even if I were, the number of other projects in the pipeline would cause me to wait. They seem to have eight or nine projects currently in the pipeline already? Maybe they should finish more projects before running another kickstarter.
