Has anyone printed texture rollers for making bases or terrain? I've found several tutorials on how to make the stls but I'm wondering if they generally print with the cylinder vertical. Also whether it's best to do them with resin or fdm.
With a FDM printer, yes - works pretty well. There are a bunch on Thingiverse.
We haven't tried it with a resin printer yet.The Auld Grump

Megan just discovered that the Baldur's Gate 3 kobolds sometimes hide in barrels.
And those barrels can be added to your inventory.
Kobold included.
Larian Studios is kind of demented... (That bear scene is stuck in my head, forever....)

Oof, running a game for a famous author... No pressure there, lol.
She is actually the second NYT bestselling author I have gamed with.
But Matt Ruff was not YET a bestselling author at the time - he was working on the book that would make him one.
It is danged strange seeing Lovecraft Country, and knowing that I gamed with the creator, in the back room of a barbershop.

She's a dragon - she would probably be more confused if everyone WASN'T staring at her.
The Auld Grump - start with a half-orc body, maybe barbarian, do a head swap, maybe sculpt some hair....

I have been playing against that trope since 1979 - when I had a party hanged for murdering an orc on the road.
The orc was minding its own business, not hiding, not sneaking, just walking along the road into town.
Most recently was the death of a drow spy in the City and Kingdom of Charlaeone cops campaign.
Not a spy for the drow - he was a Queensman.
That was how the PCs discovered that there were a few drow in the city.
A few thousand drow, that is - and the dwarfs were helping to hide them. The drow were refugees. (The drow empress is EVIL. But most of the drow that the PCs meet are fleeing from her - she is crazy as well as evil, and most drow are neither.)
The City and Kingdom have lots of orcs - who are living three times as long as their grandparents - they LIKE living in civilization.
Goblins in their multitudes, doing what they can to get by.
And kobolds... just a few months ago... discovered the joys of bureaucracy. The beholder police captain beat the beholder Queenpin - he didn't need thugs, but he has a lot of paperwork that needs filing.
Mindflayers, on the other hand, consider other sentient beings as food - hard to be any kind of good when it is hard wired into your biology to devour the brains of sentients, and replace it with one of your tadpoles.
Beholders, on the other hand, were created to be infantry support... and now that they are at peace... are reveling in being more than weapons. (Of the three in the City - one is a lawful good police captain, one is a lawful neutral newspaper publisher and editor, and only the third is evil - and she is nuts.)

Hammering out the rough draft for the campaign - rewriting the opening, since I kind of blabbed my evil plans to someone that turned into a player.
One not-all that important arc is, well, it cqn be summed up with the title of the arc - GygaQ....

I wonder if Grump's favorite barbershop/weapons dealer is still around?
Civil War haircuts and weapons.
Looks like they are still there - Bern's Side, on Brighton Avenue.
I don't know if they still have ACW weapons for sale.

Yes, totally!
We had a That Guy.
Grump told him that if he grabbed his dice before the other players could see it then it was a 0.
He tried it anyway, then sulked when we did treat it as a 0. Quitting when he was called on it a second time.
I do not miss John. Not to be confused with Jon, who is one of the best losers that I have ever played with.
Ah, John.
Also a 'first paragraph' player - would quote the first paragraph of GW rules, because all the bad things happened in the second paragraph. The Auld Grump - when I first really started disliking GW rules.

Grump has a mini of an orc in a tutu, with costume fairy wings. It is adjusting its panties.
I think that it was from Victoria Lamb's early releases - now long gone from her shop.
It's adorable.*EDIT* Found it - listed on Eureka, but no longer available.

It is official. Star Trek Lower Decks with Mercedes Lackey! 😍
So, so, so, so excited!
I, on the other hand, am scared to death!
It escalated quickly, Ms. Lackey is an enormous fan of Lower Decks, Megan and I are newer fans of Lower Decks.
And I think that I lost some hearing in my phone ear when I told Megan that the game is on.

Just an observation, one of my last purchases on Amazon was FDM filament. Now when we watch Amazon Prime we are getting 3D printer commercials.
Properly targeted adverisements seldom bother me.
This sounds like a good example.
Speaking of, have you seen ads for the new Orange Storm Giga printer from Elegoo?
Over a thousand dollars, but that is not the reason we aren't getting it - the thing is the size of a small desk.
The Auld Grump - we have to keep our FDM printer away from the cats.... or is it the cats away from the FDM printer?

Running the Viacanali portion of the cops game for the after-school program.
The kids are adamant that they neither like nor trust the patron that they are supposed to like and trust. (Who, amazingly enough, is NOT planning to do them dirty.)
He has an Intelligence of 24 - he is using their distrust, pointing them in the right direction, and letting them loose. (His primary class is Expert - he is all about the skill points.)The Auld Grump

A while back we backed the Pinup Corps scantilly clad Not-Imperial-Guard on Frontiers.
They promised that it would be finished months ago.And it was - sort of. They finished all their promised models - but every few months they add something new to the already finished release....
I am impressed, and I suspect that Megan will be adding female Not-Imperial-Guard to her Blessed Sisters army for Grimdark Future.
So far the ogres are the only models painted up. (Female ogre... in fishnet blouse... *shudder*)

After the game's climax, the lich... throws a party.
Seriously.
As lich's go, it looks like he is pretty danged chill.

Dang it, looks like that isn't available as a tee shirt.
