  1. When I first came in after the change, the page didn't load properly at all. It was so bad, I actually stopped going in for a while. I'm really happy that it got fixed. I would like to make a small request if possible. I like to buy paints in kits. I want to get a starter kit for a young man that is just learning to paint, but I can't find the kits under "paints". Shouldn't the paint kits be under "paints". Or has Reaper stopped making them? Even the beginner sets that came with brushes and a mini seem to be lost. any suggestions?

  2. I like the colors you used. The warm tones of his fur are a nice contrast to his weapon and armor. One of these days I need to get mine painted, too.

Thank you Inarah. He's a lot more matte in person. I love him dearly. Of course, this has to do with my husband. When he forgets to shave, I've nicknamed him hedgehog. I've been obsessed with the little guys ever since :)

  3. Nice work, but I can't lie, I was hoping it was one of these...http://www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/hedgehog/latest/07101#detail/07101_markivhedgehog_kk

lol...yes, I can see how you'd like that one. I haven't actually built any vehicles yet, but I have a new box of one that I need to get started sometime soon. So many minis, so little time :)

  4. Thanks for the advice :) I'll try a brush on sealer when I can find one. My local hobby shop seems to be out of it all the time. I spray in the bathroom with the fan on holding the can about 6 inches away. But you're right, the Armory is very unpredictable. The orks I sprayed next came out perfectly matte. Go figure.

  5. I kinda went a little crazy with the metallics on this one. I had to have him done for Christmas and the young man I was painting him for wanted lots of metallics. Regardless, I'm pretty proud of the way he turned out. I'm especially thrilled with his beard. My sealer, although it says matte, keeps coming out shiny. I have no idea how to stop it from doing that. It's the Armoury Matte Sealer. Any ideas? His coat is supposed to be a duster...needless to say...it doesn't look dusty when it's shiny.

  6. okay, after some time off courtesy of ridiculous working hours, I've finally managed to finish my little hedgehog. His sword was my 2nd attempt at non-metalic metals. I like how he's turned out. I still can't manage to get my camera to capture him perfectly, but I'm still working on it.

    Hope you like him.

  7. Well, meanwhile I will continue to paint her and practice on my camera skills. Still learning how to use the camera box (mine sucks) the macro feature, flash, all that goosd stuff.

I've had the same issues as you are with lighting. I've found, that if I hook up my camera through my computer I have much better control, not to mention clicking remotely. Next...Pick up something called a grey card. You use it first to teach your camera the proper white balance for the area you are photographing in. This will give truer tones to your photo.

What kind of camera are you using?

  8. I'm feeling pretty lucky too. I've only glued my fingers a couple of times. I have a nice scar from opening a box with a box cutter...8 stitches. Watch out for superglue though. My dad had a tube explode on him, got him in the eyes. Had to have patches on both eyes for a couple of weeks until they got all the glue out.

glueing your.....to your leg...definate winner.
